My experience was amazing and yes, I am talking absolutely it my routine dental cleaning and exam. The hygienist was so friendly and down to earth. The practice is nice, clean and modern. The dentist was SO friendly. For the first time ever I was told everything looked great (with the exception of a cracked crown) and I did not need any additional "work". Regarding the cracked crown...the dentist said he recommended a longer appointment to have the tooth fixed and a small cavity next to it fixed. When I asked about a temporary crown I was informed that I would be leaving with my permanent that day!!! This dentist makes his own crowns, everything taken care of at once! I was overjoyed to hear this and also impressed with needing only one more appointment. I would definitely suggest this office to anyone looking for a new dentist.

They take pictures (in addition to x-rays) which is something I did not want to do as I prefer to get in and out of the dentist as soon as possible. They stick a very large flat mirror into your mouth and shoot air down it and into the back of your throat. I repeatedly asked if the pictures were absolutely necessary and said "I do not want to do this" multiple times. The assistant taking all of the pictures did not listen to me. When more than 1 staff member hears the patient saying "no", I expect that they listen. This dental practice did not meet my expectations. They were quite pushy about fluoride, with 3 people giving me the same speech about how I really should have it. Even though I explained I wanted to get in & out as soon as possible, they still kept trying to push it on me. At the end, they used a tooth shade finder that came from a cabinet and physically touched it to my tooth, and then put it directly back into the cabinet. Who knows how many mouths that's touched. I do not recommend that anyone who is scared of the dentist go here as not being listened to is very traumatic.

It is hard enough for children to keep their teeth clean without braces but the staff took an adequate amount of time to explain how to be proactive with their home care additionally explaining the consequences of poor oral health with braces. At one of our visits I watched Dr. Tomassetti interact with a fearful child (not my own). I couldn't help but laugh at her reaction when she realized the procedure was done. I had a very positive experience with North Appleton Dentistry in the beginning. Both providers I…read moresaw were professional, and my hygienist was absolutely wonderful--kind, thorough, and someone I genuinely looked forward to seeing at appointments. Unfortunately, things took a sharp turn when I began advocating for myself and asking questions about a filling that failed in less than two years, resulting in the need for a crown. I simply wanted to better understand what happened and discuss it further with the dentist. Instead of that conversation, I received a call from the office manager. The interaction was disappointing, to say the least. What should have been a professional discussion became rude, defensive, and unnecessarily confrontational. I was even accused of being disrespectful simply for asking questions and expressing concern about the situation. As a patient, I believe it's completely reasonable to ask about dental work--especially when something fails unexpectedly. A medical provider should be willing to have those conversations openly and respectfully. To make matters worse, I've since been notified of a certified letter from their office, I'm sure "firing" me as a patient. I'm refusing it and moving on. Rather than feeling supported as a patient, I now feel dismissed and uncomfortable. This has been incredibly disappointing given how happy I initially was with their care. I respected their expertise and felt confident in their services--until I asked questions. That shift raises serious concerns for me about how patient concerns are handled. I expected better communication, professionalism, and accountability. Do better.

That being said, my kids have great teeth, but after the visit, the hygienist says that my kids have cavities and one even needs a crown. This was suggested without even speaking with an actual dentist or having them review the x-rays. I got a second opinion from another dentist who told me that one of my children only had one cavity, not two, and that the one that supposedly needed a crown really doesn't and that would be quite the stretch. Basically, the office is simply lying and exaggerating to make money off their clients. I will absolutely NEVER GO BACK!!!

When scheduling, the receptionist mentioned that they typically separate children from parents for any procedures. I immediately said I wasn't comfortable with that at my child's age and asked if we should cancel the appointment. I was reassured that the policy wasn't strict and wouldn't be pushed. Fast forward to the appointment: after checking in, we were taken to a consult room, and they told me they were going to take my child to the back. I reminded them that I had clearly stated I did not want to be separated. The hygienist left to get the dentist, who came in and listened as I explained my concerns. I said I was open to gradually working toward independent visits, but for this first one, I needed to be present. The dentist responded by saying we might not be a good fit and refused to see my child unless I agreed to be separated. The whole situation left me extremely uncomfortable. Based on my experience, I would not recommend this place to anyone.
