A Denny's is a Denny's for the most part. We had a great waiter, Russ. He was amazing. He was attentive and funny. It was very clean, no dirty tables. The floor was actually being mopped as we were seated. The food was ok. We ordered the Diner Dipper, and everything was good. I did have a small issue with the chicken tenders being overly salty. The sliders were really good though. I also recommend the bone in wings. The onion rings were nice too. Perfectly cooked. It was a very quiet visit at around 3pm. Which was nice. Overall it is one of the better Denny's I have visited and would go back. read more

My heart goes out to Barbara the waitress... poor lady brought mine and my daughter's meals back to the kitchen after Andy the cook sent out a jr waffle slam with only one waffle and one bacon instead of a waffle, two bacons, and eggs. We just had a terrible breakfast. First, it took over 15 minutes to place our order. Another 30+ minutes for food to come out. We could hear our server and cook yelling at each other to get the food and telling them what to do while we were waiting to place our order. One other customer finally walked out without ordering. We almost left then but decided to stay. When the food came out, it was awful (I don't have high expectations for a Denny's to begin with). We had four breakfasts: the ham and bacon had a chemical taste- like the grill had cleaning supplies on it. The sausage was undercooked and also tasted strange. The hash browns were cooked in old oil. Preference-wise: the eggs were slathered in so much sliced American cheese you couldn't taste the egg. What was edible (the toast and pancakes) were drenched in butter (literally butter dripped off the toast). Also, It wasn't until the food came that the server offered us a pitcher of water for refills (remember this is 45 minutes later. We told the server our concerns about the chemicals and bad oil - who seemed mildly concerned and asked if we wanted to speak to the manager but we told her no we just wanted her to relay our concerns and bring the bill- we did NOT ask for a discount, paid in Full, and left a tip despite the situation. We had been there over an hour, we were traveling through and needed to get going ). But paying our bill was our biggest complaint and what is truly prompting this review- Lizzie, the "server" who was seating people and running register. When we paid the bill, we told her the concerns with our breakfast so she could also relay it to the cooks also because we weren't sure the server took it seriously. Lizzie argued every point we made and told us we were wrong about the quality concerns. She kept asking us to elaborate on the problem. She informed us no one else complained so it must be us.(it was 10 am and there were three other tables eating). She also informed us they just passed their food inspection last week and there were no issues. (relevance? Should have asked to see the report). My mom got so frustrated and hurt feelings- she just walked away because it was clear Lizzie didn't care. Then as we were walking away, she condescendingly yelled "have a nice day. I got upset at her treatment of my mom and asked if she was serious. She said "what?" And I asked if she always condescends and argues to customers when they are upset- she said she just serves the food she isn't the cook! (Again- relevance?). I asked to speak to the manager. When the manager came out ((who was apparently the cook) we relayed our concerns about the food- as I was talking, Lizzie interrupted me and asked to interject. I told her no she could talk to her manager when I was done but it was rude to interrupt when I was speaking". She started huffing and sighing while k was talking. Then as I told the manager my bigger complaint was Lizzie's treatment of us, she interrupted again and tried to defend herself by saying we didn't describe the problem well enough and tried to argue that we were wrong again. The manager shushed Lizzie who rolled her eyes- and the manager promised to go look into the kitchen and "took our concerns seriously" but her solution was to offer us two 15% off coupons for our "next visit." We handed them back because we will not eat there again. I genuinely hope they do get their kitchen in order before someone gets really sick. I also think they need to seriously reconsider Lizzie as the front line of their service because she is a terrible representative for their restaurant. She is the reason for the escalated complaint that otherwise would not have been posted. read more

I've literally never waited in a restaurant so long in my entire life. We were there for about an hour and a half before we even got the food. I saw other tables have to send back a plate of nachos twice. We had a few of our dishes sent back a couple times, literally just gave up on switching out the food after like 4 times. I'd never recommend this restaurant again. They used to run flawlessly and now they're very unorganized and the cooks clearly don't know how to cook. These people need to learn to work together and communicate. There's some training that needs to be done. read more

Our experience was okay at best. Our waitress sat us down, took our drink order and set the paper down on the counter then proceeded to sit at a booth till someone higher up asked if we were waiting, then he took over with our orders which he was AMAZING with! We tried the brisket and Mac skillet thinking it would fill us, found out it's a thin layer of macaroni and cheese with tough brisket at times. If it's a popular dish, I would feel you would atleast make it a bigger portion or even cook the meet correctly. Store is CLEAN! Always want to see that when you go to eat. Placed an order online today and decided on curbside pick up. I've done so before and they were super quick to come out with my order. Today was not the case, no one came outside, tried calling about 100000 times no answer at all. Not even for ordering over the phone or to speak with a manager. Got tired of waiting and decided to leave. Either their phones aren't working or the staff. Either way not happy at all with the service. The online ordering asks for make model and color for a reason. Worked perfectly fine last time I ordered. Even provide a number for them to call you. It had been extremely busy, but she was on top of everything, even with managing the girl Hope that she had called in from another store. First she asked if we wanted our "usual" beverages. We did. She knew exactly how many cups of coffee I would have. Straws for our waters. And that we only needed 1 to-go box. She never wavered from her excellent service. Ordered through DoorDash because I'm sick. Dennys got one of our two dishes completely wrong. Tried to call the store to rectify, they refused to answer. Despite being sick, I went to the store where I spoke with Jeremiah, who claimed to be a manager. He said they were out of the breakfast entree we had ordered, and felt like a fair substitute for the combo was three pancakes without butter or syrup (we didn't order pancakes). He refused to explain why they didn't reject the order, why they didn't call us, or why they just decided to give us pancakes instead. Jeremiah seemed wholly uninterested in making it right. Service here is monumentally subpar, and the employees could use a refresher on basic customer service skills and following an order. Do it right or not at all. read more

Stopped in this morning. Everything looked good and clean. Roger was our server and he was fantastic. To me, it looked like he was doing all the work. I watched as he tried to tell the cooks what was wrong with orders, only to hear the cooks arguing with him. Watched as two other employees just stood there, no help to anyone. Horrible! Roof leaking but they don't mind sitting you right by the bucket if nasty water. Waitress was decent cook on the other hand was not. One meal was completely sent back due to it being extremely burned and topped with whipped cream to hide it. Toast was not toasted, appetizer wasn't put in! My husband and generally go to Denny's when we want breakfast and have since moving here in 2011. We have seen many servers come and go as i am sure you all have. I love Lisa as the manager, she is great. We have our preferred servers; Kelly, Kylie (sp, sorry hun i forget how to spell your name), Roger and Kaleb. We 9 times out of 10 ask for Kelly, but she is out on maternity leave, while she is out we don't ask for a specific person. That being said, we went in today and Kaleb was our server, that young man could put a smile on the grumpyest of old men. He brings some real energy to Denny's and always makes sure your order is exactly as you want it. I just want them all to know they are appriciated for the work you do. I'm NOT usually a fan of Denny's by any stretch of the imagination, but this location was not a typical Denny's experience. Being Located in downtown Tooele, I thought that it might be crowded as hell since there aren't too many breakfast options in town, but I was pleasantly surprised to be seated and served right away (in my experience, this isn't usually the case at any Denny's). The server was very pleasant and attentive (weird for Denny's), giving us exceptional service. My mushroom Swiss burger was fantastic (I opted for brunch), but, sadly, some of my party's orders left much to be desired. Their pancakes were bland and, frankly, dry. I asked my party mates if they wanted to send it back, but they took the "grin and bear it" approach. If it were mine, it would have gone back in a skinny second. The prices were reasonable. However, since I live in Honolulu, most mainland menus prices are reasonable in comparison. All in all, for me, it was very good. read more

They also charge you additional money for onions rings where they give you 5 (count em 5) rings total per order. Me and my family have been regulars at Denny's since we moved to Utah. Some know us when we walk in and honestly do treat us well. Others, though...we've had both good and bad experiences at this place. Last time we went, however, will be the last time period. We got a table fast enough, but the server was horrible. He took our order, brought our food. That's it. If we would ask him for something he would nod but never bring it. Finally, the manager came by and we told her. We had just asked for some more butter, and he said "it has to be stirred"? lol So never got the butter. Told the manager and she laughed it off with him. No drink refills and when you pay almost $3.00 for a soda, you want a darn refill. Also, the cooks did not wear their masks properly at all. They had them on, but their mouths were not covered.
