My sister found Tony's, I remembered passing it, so we decided to go. They do quite the business. LOTS of carryout orders -- perhaps more than dine in. But, the problem with this is that they seemed to prioritize the orders being picked up. We must have waited a half hour for our meals. But...the servers were friendly, and one would occasionally burst into whatever song was playing on the radio. I ordered the eggs and sausage biscuit with gravy. It was pretty good and very reasonably priced. The iced tea did not taste freshly made, though; I'm guessing it was probably a mix. Still, this is a great little neighborhood diner and I'm sure that, if I lived near here, I'd be back.

Unfortunately, the food arrived cold. To make matters worse, there was a hair in both the salad and the steak. We would have sent the meals back, but our server never returned to check on us after the food was delivered. The men's restroom was also in rough shape--no paper towels available and trash overflowing onto the floor. As for the food itself, the steak was tough and disappointing. The chicken strips, fries, and grilled chicken salad were the bright spots and were actually quite good. Overall, between the cleanliness issues, food quality concerns, and lack of service follow-up, I'd recommend skipping this one. It simply doesn't represent itself well.

Our group of four got appetizers--mozzarella sticks and cactus blossom onion--surprisingly fast. Both were hot, fresh, and delicious, pairing well with the included homemade rolls and cinnamon butter. Two of us ordered smothered chicken, and two got sirloin steak. The steaks were cooked perfectly and flavorful. The chicken was juicy but overloaded with onions, so we scraped some off. The loud music made it tough to chat across the table.
