GREAT food and GREAT customer service! A person by the name of Vickie greeted & seated us, brought us coffee and was our server. She was so pleasant and refilled our coffee several times. Our breakfast was delicious and we didn't have to wait long for it at all. The place was clean, organized and everything was as it should be. I will definitely be back. This Dennys made my day. I was having a crappy morning, because our stay at Best Western was bad, 1 unacceptable thing after the next. Denny's has never disappointed me. They provide great food at a reasonable price. The service is always great no matter what time of day I go. And I like that you can order breakfast all day and night. It my mom's favorite place to each out too; since she wears dentures Denny's has many choices for soft food. She chose the omelette it's has bacon, sausage and lots of veggies. My bourbon chicken was really delicious, it has mushroom, broccoli, potatoes and two pieces of chicken. I really like the bourbon sauce is amazing. The ambiance is okay, it's open and can get a bit noisy. There was a big party seating next to us with several kids making lots of noise but that expected. He made my visit so pleasant always checking to see if I needed anything even if he was busy . Is only open till 10 now it was 9:40 and we got refuse service even though it says 10 you are legally required to seat anyone until the time it says they're closed I know this because I work at a restaurant and we were legally required to seat anyone until the time we close and we are required to keep the door unlocked until every person is out of the building I don't appreciate being denied service when there is 20 minutes until closing and if you don't plan on being open 24 hours don't keep a lit sign. read more

I would not recommend coming to this place due to the fact that all my food is not all the same temperature when I get it. Usually half of my food is hot and the other half is cold. I prefer my food to be hot and fresh when going out to eat. I usually have to ask for my cold food to be made fresh in which they do but again, I never get to eat all of my food at the same time. read more

This restaurant was one of my favorites because there aren't very many people. Until I went a while ago and had a bad experience when ordering and getting my drinks. It took them just about 20 minutes to get our drinks and then it took them another 20 minutes to come and ask us if we wanted a refill. At that point we were very hungry and a little upset that they hadn't even came and got our order taken yet. We just decided to leave and go have breakfast somewhere else. She refused to give my grandmother a senior discount when my great grandmother had gotten one at the same location a month prior because we were trying to explain to her the we never ordered a side salad but simply asked to substitute the fries for a salad. Great service and our gorgeous waitress Stephanie always had a smile and was very prompt with our food and the other staff made sure we had refills very promptly. Food was excellent and they were even willing to customize a milkshake for me (blueberry milkshake) which was absolutely delicious. Dec 2 2022 Family celebration. ( 5 of us). We were told upfront there was a 45 minute wait.... which actually was only about 10 minutes. Eventually drinks were ordered. Then food orders. And we waited....& Waited...& Waited. When our food finally came it was COLD. Sent it all back & order was resubmitted. And we waited...& Waited. Couple of items not as hot as should have been. Waitress was nice & apologized. But we were never asked about drink refills. Apologies to us but never offered to compensate for the meal. I will never eat at our local Denny's again. read more

This location today gets one because the gentleman who sat us down was very nice and cordial. On the other hand his coworkers not so much cordial, respectful, and unorganized. They were literally standing around while there were 4 different parties waiting to be seated. We were sat probably on the furthest table put and we were able to hear their chatter from the kitchen and obnoxious laughter. It appeared that they were upset about a confrontation with another customer and apparently they whole restaurant needed to know. Foul language was annoying from the servers. Food was cold. I don't expect much from a "chain" franchise like Denny's or IHOP, but getting someone to listen to a basic order should be fairly common - - - not at this Denny's in Porterville. My wife and I each ordered a breakfast meal this morning - her order was pretty basic - the "Ultimate" omelet - please remove tomatoes and peppers as my wife is allergic to some peppers. Of course the omelet came with both peppers and tomatoes and chedder cheese instead of the swiss cheese we asked for and paid extra for. In addition, we had multiple conversations with the person we ordered from that we didn't want ketchup or jelly packets because we would not use them and we would just throw them away - - - there was an inordinate amount of both jelly and ketchup packets at the bottom of the bag, which was thrown away. Anyway, I will never go back to this Denny's and while we don't expect a lot from these types of franchises we expect that they get a few moderate requests right - in this case, they got none of them right. In terms of how the food was? My three eggs. steak and hashbrowns were fine - we don't know about my wife's order because she had to share mine because she couldn't eat hers. if i could give this restaurant a "0" score I would!!!! Place was empty tonight and we still waited 30 minutes for our food. My son's burger was good but my veggie burger was so soaked in meat grease that I couldn't taste the veggie patty. All I could taste was beef. Please, please clean the grill between items because dang that was so disgusting. Privately owned; i should have known. If you insist on Dennys in Porterville, go to the other one. The wait wasnt bad but the staff had a bad case of resting bitch face. They gave us a recently washed table and laid the menus on it; it smelt of syrup and some other food. I was already upset but i wanted some soup. At 11 AM, it turns out, they didn't have any soup available yet. I told them we would be cancelling our order, she just turned away to those that would give them business; no apology; just a total cry baby attitude.
