My experience here was fine. The food was alright, but it's definitely pricey given its quality. The service is my biggest complaint, because you can order 3 entrees and wait nearly an hour for one of them to be ready, and it can take a while for someone to come and bring you your check, so you might be waiting for a while if you come while the place is packed. The ambiance was fine; as long as you come with someone you can easily talk to you'll have an alright time. read more

I love coming to this Applebees it's a great place to hangout.... So long as bartender "Maryjane" isn't working. She's the rudest most unprofessional bar tender I've ever had. I never leave her a tip because the service from her gets worse every time I come. She has such a shitty attitude. Last time I was there she was just so nasty. They need to fire her read more

We paid $16.00 for the Ultimate Trio Appetizer. We chose a chicken quesadilla, boneless chicken wings, and the shrimp. Sadly none of them were worth eating at all absolutely not recommended and not worth the price. There was really no flavor involved with any of it other than the sauce that the wings were covered with the quesadilla really needed to be cooked longer to get some browning on the tortilla and the shrimps were pretty darn small and stuck together. I really would like to like this place as I like to go somewhere where I can have a choice of many different kinds of food but this has just been a disappointment. read more

Worst place for curb pick up. Placed my order at 5:35 pm, was told it would be ready at 5:55 pm, they came to bring food for someone else who was here after me and to charged us at 6:09 pm also told us our food still wasn't ready then took off running back inside. Didn't get our food until 6:17 pm. Never again! read more

They never served us! Not even asked for our drinks. Unbelievable. We have been waiting for an hour, other tables we're being served and and they didn't ask for drinks or food or anything. Not to mention we had 2 babies and 7 adults. And AC didn't work it was so hot in there idk what is the point of those conditioners in the ceiling! Worst Mother's Day EVER! Couldn't even get my chicken Alfredo man read more

This was not a great experience. It took 10 minutes for them to seat me (it took almost that long for anyone to notice me standing there). Most employees seemed very apathetic. My waitress (Jamie) seemed kind and responsive though. Food was ok. First impressions are a big deal. I would suggest the host pays more attention to people as they come in. Recognizing customers as they come in and friendliness would go a long ways at this location. I almost left to find another restaurant completely. Once I ordered my food also took a long to come. read more

Had to grab some dinner quickly before the movies and thankfully we were in an out in thirty minutes at this Applebees location! Our server was kind enough to split our Four Cheese Mac & Cheese with Hot Honey Glaze Chicken Tenders into two half portions since we were sharing. The honey glaze on the chicken tender was great and the macaroni was cooked well. The chicken wonton tacos are what you would expect- they were just okay. The seats and tables were clean and overall a very chill environment! read more

I love the double crunch bone in wings. However, the service and wait time are something left to be desired. I understand that it is hard to find good help these days, and at Applebee's that is no exception. The servers are friendly but seem to be more pre-occupied with whatever was going on in the kitchen or must take lunch at the same time because they all seem to disappear once they take your order. On my visit, after ordering our meal and receiving our drinks, we waited for more than 30 minutes for someone to come out and check on us. When we asked for our drinks to be refilled, they disappeared again for at least 5 more minutes. There were dirty tables needing to be bussed with no one in sight to tend to them. Overall, the service could use some work. read more

I gave 2 bc food was good. Service is BAD. There was 2 of us dining in. There was several people waiting to be seated and hostess didn't bother writing a waitlist so of course we got skipped and then she started a waitlist. Also never got drink I ordered . If it wasn't for GC, I would never ever go there bc the service is always BAD. SMH. read more

Well, with the commercials hyping the 2 for $25, figured this was a relaunch of some sort to try and save a dying business. Wrong. Still the same tired Sysco salty food. Service mediocre. At least the Manager stepped in to help a little bit when the server was getting behind. read more

Hi everyone, today I will be reviewing Applebee's. The restaurant stood out to me because it is one of the very few places I have been to and really enjoyed. Applebee's is a local, affordable restaurant. During my visit to Applebee's, I ordered the Sirloin Steak. This steak is very juicy and flavorful. Not only was it delicious, but it was very affordable. The servers were also very friendly, and the atmosphere is perfect for relaxing and enjoying yourself. I really enjoy the good deals and prices they have, so you're able to enjoy your food without it being too expensive, especially if you have a big group. If you're looking for a spot with great food, affordable options, and a welcoming vibe, Applebee's is definitely worth visiting. read more

Think they missed the tossed in Buffalo for Drenched in Buffalo. Honestly was like they said aww who cares throw them on the plate pour a bottle of Buffalo over them and call it good. Because they were definitely not coated throughout but no shortage of sauce was to be had haha. Don't get me wrong, did the trick way over cooked and more hard batter than chicken but decent if in a pinch. Restaurant itself was clean and appealing, wait staff was friendly and professional. Multiple sports TVs in order to watch the game I needed to so can't find fault in that. read more

I'm not usually a super big fan of Applebee's but tonight it was one of those nights where I was in town visiting my friend's relatives and this is where the brother picked. I'm not one to disagree on someone else's choice......ok I lie, but I'm changing my ways for the better! Lol Any who, the visit tonight was great. The service was outstanding and the food was surprisingly good. I got the Bourbon Chicken and Shrimp skillet which was super tasty and water bc I'm trying to change my soda drinking habits as well :'( The one thing that made me cringe, was how dirty the women's restroom was. Someone blew it up, not one stall, not two but three of them and there was garbage all over the sink area. It was not a sight you wanna see at a dining establishment. That's probably the fastest I've ever used a restroom. I did not dare to take or post any pics for the sake of human life. Get it together Applebee's! read more

I wish I could give this location less than 1 star. We have been here on many occasions in the past few months. If you want Applebee's you should go to Visalia it's worth the drive at least you'll get good food and good service unlike at this location. The food here is worse than subpar and the stuff no matter what time of day you go are slow and lazy. The management is just as bad if not worse. We are done giving them chances for this location. Horrible! 2 for $22! Appetizer Chips with artichoke dip were soggy as hell. I just started eating! They brought another batch after complaining, it was equivalent to chopping on cardboard. Eating with a spoon is your best bet here with the artichoke dip. The kids loved the first round of drinks! The second round of drinks never came. Very disappointed! For a $100 bill, the service was expected to be top notch. The kid's plates were dry, and the macaroni was too. The kids didn't eat anything while they ate the soggy fries off our plates. Ezra loves the wings, but tonight was another story. The exciting event of the night was the $2 we spent on the unplayable games on the kiosk. What the hell is going on with this place. Some training for cooks and waiters is required. We ordered drinks as they arrived 15 minutes later. Where the hell is corporate! I spoke to Shad before we left, no apologies while he moved swiftly from table to table, believing he was doing the guests a favor. I don't think I will be back unless family and friends give an invitation. Hold on... The restrooms are a mess! How often are they checked? I might as well walk over to Save Mart to use the restroom. These mistakes are noticeable, and while nobody is doing anything, money is being lost. Porterville needed this place; you have the wrong people running it! Common sense goes a long way! read more

So giving this place one star because of our waitress, she was awesome. However the food was not so good. Well, I didn't even order anything but the spinach and artichoke dip and a "pink & prickly lemon drop" but they did not have any "prickly" so they gave me strawberry. I wanted the sampler appetizer but "they did not have it" I also overheard them say they didn't have lemonade. My drink tasted like water down kool aid and I like kool aid lol. Well as for the atmosphere what can I say it's apple bees. Not coming back here. read more

I haven't eaten at an Applebee's for a long time.......but I have been traveling for a while and I had a taste for fish and chips ....so I called and placed the order ...I tried the app kept canceling my fries and coleslaw that kind of pissed me offI .....I must say customer service was superb at curbside ....what was disappointing for me was that ....you know when you eat fish and chips you must have tartar sauce..... A descent amount....that was lacking. They provided a little container. I was starving. Coleslaw was dry, can we add more Mayo? read more

We set at the bar and the bartenders were really nice. But however, when we had to move to a table with our food, one of the bartenders got angry because we cashed out with a different bartender and tipped, and I guess they don't show the tips, but she told the waitress not to help us at our table. Which is terrible Customer Service and I was highly disappointed. We spent quite a bit of money and tipped very well to be treated like such terrible customers, there's a lot of people the guacamole was rotten read more

Never again will I step foot in this disgusting establishment. Our server screwed up and brought 2 extra drinks to our table. Since we didn't want to pay for her mistake (which she asked us to) and drink warm beer by the time we got to it, she - and the bartender were pissed. Not our fault. Not our problem. You would think the beers would have been poured out, instead she set them on the bar and waited for someone to order one...No one did. That is until I ordered a beer and the server asked if I wouldn't mind taking the beer she brought by mistake 20-30 minutes earlier! The beer sitting there getting warm and flat, collecting dust from being reached over by the bartender and a handful of servers. I very politely declined and requested a fresh one. This did not set well with the bartender, so she proceeded to fill every drink order possible before attempting to pour mine. It was taking forever but I looked up just in time to see the server pick up that warm/flat beer and make eye contact with me. I told the others at my table and we read her lips as she told the bartender "they're looking at it". They knew that was not going to fly and felt they better pour a fresh beer to bring over. At this point I was already finished with my meal which I only ate ¼ of because it was disgustingly salty. I was upset with the attitude and treatment we received and they knew it was all bad, because they had the manager deliver my beer to which I said no thanks. Our experience was obviously not pleasant, but it was topped off when the child in our party discovered pieces of NAPKIN in their milkshake! Never again. read more

The last few weeks I've been plagued with terrible service. With that said I was very impressed with Mario the host being very friendly and attentive of everyone there for lunch. Where to begin, we go to Applebee's in various cities this was the first and last time for the one in Porterville. Service is very poor at this restaurant, don't ask the server to bring you something because they never do. Never came back to see how we were doing, refresh drinks?!!? Nothing . What type of restaurant runs out of soft drinks and then tries to charge you for all of the kids "beverages " which comes with the meal?! Oh wait! We have to charge you extra because tea is extra in the kids meals , ok ...what comes with the meals?? Soft drinks and milk and OJ ?? Ok but your out of soft drinks???? Food is very salty I do not recommend the bourbon chicken and shrimp so very salty wow just wow!! We normally enjoy our meals at Applebee's...... read more

Horrible service every time I come here. It takes 30 minutes to get a water, the host in front always looks like she hates her job, and they're so unorganized. The host sat a table before our table and lied saying the couple "asked" for a table after not wanting the bar but I heard the couple ask for a table not the bar. The other guy came up to us and told us "sorry the host sat someone ahead of you guys also I'm going to sit the people behind you first give me like 5 minutes I promise you're next". It took 20 minutes after to sit us down. This town doesn't have much to offer for late night eatery's and it's a shame that the staff at this restaurant sucks. This place had some potential in this town. They make me not want to leave a tip. I leave tip regardless but never in my life have I ever not wanted to leave a tip. read more

Let's begin with walking in and nobody acknowledged us for 5min then we were told to wait for the hostess and after another 8min wait then we were seated and given 2 menus for a group of 5, the waitress came to take our order before we got our other 3 menus. They took too long to take our order and our drinks sat at the bar for about 10 min before we got them. They kept bringing us food we didn't order and they couldn't find who ordered the food. When we ordered a second drink the bill came before that second drink. The place wasn't that busy they only had the one side open. People were leaving before getting seated or getting their food. I really enjoyed the place. First off, the room was very cold (which I liked since it's hot outside all the time) Me and my family went there last night, and we got sat by a very nice and caring employee. Then Mitchell took our orders. He was very nice with the people around him!! But our menus took a little while to get to us cause of how busy it was. But after ordering, we didn't get our food till 30 minutes later. Maybe it was worth the wait and there was a reason that we had to wait. When our food got there, we really liked the way it looked!! But the only problem was, is that the food was a little too salty. It really wasn't the best, but still was good ! I'd totally might come back with my family anytime soon in the future one day! Just lower it on the salt ! read more

I have been going to this Apple Bees for years and witching the past 3 years service has slowed down.Food is good USUALLY one time chips were so soggy no one would bother to touch them.Servers have been nice for the most part. But there was one that was not good.We ordered food and we waited for an hour and a half and still didn't get our food. Then she walks up out of nowhere and takes our order again! And finally after waiting we get our order and one burger was already cold. And she kept avoiding us and we couldn't tell her.We told her and she took it and never came back.We decided to pay and leave.Awful experience.Only getting 2 stars because servers are typically nice. read more

Absolutely the worst service ever. Everyone acts like they don't want to work there. Very lazy. Gets orders wrong and don't care. Horrible. We still go because we like some of the food choices but seriously everyone that works here from the host to bar tender to servers just walk around like zombies. Haven't been back since my "not so good experience". I am glad that I came in today, sat at the bar (this is totally key to do when you come in), our experience was GREAT!!! All of our food was good, service was fast, and the beer were really a super improvement from my last visit. Our service was done by the bartender, Mason - great service! I will be back, sooner rather than later now. The reason I didn't give 5 stars was the appetizer of the Pretzels and Beer cheese, was delicious - however the ratio of Cheese to Pretzels, is not at all enough. Had to request more cheese.
