Came here after some evening fishing. Late dinner for the two of us. Police and ambulance outside. We should have went elsewhere, but we're curious. Apparently we just missed some altercation inside and then the person went into medical distress and then took off behind the restaurant. Our server and manager were super nice. We knew to be patient as they had just been through something. We ordered. And a family with two kids under 5yrs kids came in the booth beside us. This was strange as the restaurant was completely empty. Just us. Then the shitshow started again. Lady behind us was swearing and cursing. Kids in tow. We let it be as what was happening was beyond us. Decided to listen as she ran the poor server and her manager through the paces. Complaints and swearing everywhere. Her kids now asleep. Seemed odd as they seemed to be a nice family on vacation. The food should get zero stars. Very little thought put into the making of our meals and the low quality of ingredients. Processed cheese, canned chicken and bread ends for my sandwiches. How tough is it to cook frozen french fries properly? I had a bad stomach all the next day and was cursing this place. Might seem funny, but having to spend a day on my week long vacation nursing a bad stomach is no laughing matter. read more

After a gross Denny's breakfast in Langley a while back I was leery. But I could not believe in the height of summer there was not a single place serving breakfast by the beach!!! Weird. So Denny's it was. Quite a few people waiting when we arrived. A sign said they were short staffed. So it seemed they were only seating as many people as they could serve. Fair enough. They said 20-30 min wait. We were seated after 15. Coffee came immediately and our order was taken and served within 10 minutes. Very nice waitress. All the staff was very friendly. Pancakes at Denny's alway taste odd like cake and these did was well. But the food was hot and fresh. Bacon, sausage, toast, eggs cooked perfectly and those crispy shredded hash browns are everything! I guess it depends which Denny's you go to because this one was just fine! read more

Great food, great service. But honestly there's one thing that constantly brings our family back. The sense of humor from the waitresses, Liz is awesome! We watched her tonight control the room. With over 15 tables in the hour and a half we were there she effortlessly took charge and did a great job. A true manager would have this employees back at all times! Keep the tables clean and sit people as needed. If I had any complaint about the night it was the lack of backup for her. 1 hour in after feverishly holding down the back counter, the manager (according to his badge) stated cleaning tables an hour into our visit. True teamwork needs to have some communication and effort from both sides. read more

Best Denny's I've eaten at. (Admittedly a low bar). We were recently in Penticton for 4 days and stayed at the "Sandman", to which this Denny's is attached. Wound up eating there 4 times, and was pleasantly surprised. The service was fast and friendly each time, the food was hot and fresh. Kids deemed the pancakes "better than IHOP" (though not the omelettes). I thought the "Charleston chicken" was quite good, as was the breakfast sandwich ("moon over my hammy" or some such). read more

I'm a visitor who lives in Vancouver and as I am fan of Denny's restaurants I asked my friend who lives here to take me to the Denny's. My friend, her daughter and I came to have supper yesterday and we had a very bad experience. We ordered water and the glasses were dirty (mine had lipstick). I asked the waitress to give us a different glasses and she brought us kind of the same thing (of course we didn't drink anything). Then, I order a Cali Chicken Burrito and the salsa was spoiled and smelled really bad. I told the waitress about it and she took it away. After a few minutes later she came to me and said "I informed the kitchen about the salsa and the staff throw it away". Anyway, I was expecting to be offered a different salsa or at least a discount for the issues (dirty glasses and spoiled salsa) but nothing was offered. What a shame! The service in this Denny's location is poor comparing to Vancouver Denny's restaurants. read more

Came here for supper after being on the road for 12 hours. The table was dirty when we sat down and also had an ant crawling on it. We had to wipe it off ourselves. When we received our meals which took over 30 minutes (no refills or check in offered in this time) there was a hair in the scrambled eggs so we sent it back and had to ask 15 mins later, "Where the food was?" The waitress clearly forgotten when she was like "oh, what are you talking about?" When we explained the situation again. She stated, "Oh, I forgot." Definitely will not be returning to this place! The waitress couldn't find a happy medium between being at our table constantly, and then leaving us for excruciatingly long periods of time without so much as a coffee refill. Denny's is a classic go to quick restaurant when you're almost feeling fast food but you also want the restaurant feel. The staff is usually pretty nice but can be slow on occasion. My usual trip to Denny's is a late night run to grab myself their Bacon Slamburger which is a burger topped with an egg done of your choosing, hash browns and bacon topped with some cheese with a side of fries or hash browns. You can never go wrong ordering it. While some of my bad times include getting a glass with lipstick all over it and drinking from it before noticing it, I was compensated with a free milkshake which to me makes it almost acceptable but then again no one should ever have to go through swallowing someone's old lipstick fragments. Another bad time I came at 2 in the morning and it took the servers almost an hour and a half to help us on a near empty night. The good experiences have totally topped the bad, I have been to this restaurant over 30 times in my life with such fair prices and only a few bad experiences with decent food they will deffinately see more of me in the future. read more

We move from Vancouver and stay at Best Western which next to it for vacation. Denny here are much better than Vancouver. We have most breakfast and dinner here during our stay. 1 star off as some staff are not so professional and mess up stuff we order. But overall we are happy. read more

I've never had this much of an issue with this Denny's. My nachos were soggy and my server was incredibly disrespectful. Liz was our server and she was constantly touching my sister when she came to our table. I'm sister has extreamly bad anxiety when it comes to this and she ended up having a panic attack. Told my brother in law to "get his elbows off the table" as he was telling us a story. And she got mad at us that we were having fun. And being somewhat loud. Sorry the restaurant is load itself and we were speaking at the same level as everyone else. read more
