I actually love most Denny's locations for their reasonable prices and the quality is pretty decently matched. I visited this place a few days ago and I was terribly disappointed. I ordered an ice tea ($3.99), but I never received it and had already finished my meal before the check arrived with the additional drink still on the bill. I had to have the bill updated and remove the drink that I never received. Then I paid my bill and I was even nice enough to leave an 18% tip for the waitress even though she failed to provide a service deserving of it During the bill adjustment and other distractions, I left behind my To Go food order for my girlfriend. I then called the restaurant back to let them know I forgot it and I was returning to pick up. The manager says that he isn't responsible for food left behind and he didn't have time to review the cctv footage to determine what happened to it. I then asked if he would provide a replacement since I paid in full for the order but it came up missing. He told me No and that he would need to bill me again for a replacement. This is so silly because now I'm gonna dispute this charge with my credit card company and he will need to return the entire payment with tip for being unreasonable. read more

I took my mom out for breakfast here today at about 10 in the morning. We saw one worker making beverages in the back, two cooks, and four tables were occupied. After waiting a couple of minutes at the front desk, a homeless man sitting next to his cart near the side entrance to the kitchen area yelled loudly to someone in the back about people waiting at the desk. I waved and nodded to him and we waited another five minutes to be greeted. No one came so we left. Came in at approximately 2:30AM on 3/11/20. I ordered the Honey Glazed Chicken Tender sandwich. The "tenders" on this sandwich were smaller than the bun. Literally they did not touch the edge of the bun when put in the middle of the sandwich. The portion size of fries given were about half the size I would normally get at Denny's. Now obviously I wasn't satisfied with the meal, so I asked my server if I could get it remade with more normal sized tenders. She said "we can, but it's going to be the exact same size tenders. This is a disappointing sandwich". Fortunately, she took the meal off my bill. Don't come here expecting a $10 meal to actually be $10 worth of quality food. Highly disappointing. 1/10. read more

I had to catch an early morning flight from Madison, Wisconsin this morning and was looking for a place to catch some breakfast at 4 am. Not much is open at 4 am in Madison, but Denny's was open. So I made a u-turn and pulled in the parking lot. I was quickly seated and the waitress, who was friendly, quickly took my drink and food order. The food was quickly served and tasted better than usual for Denny's. I paid and was in and out in 20 minutes. I will keep this Denny's in mind for my next trip to Madison. 8/8/18 Uber eats delivery. The delivery was great- FAST, polite. The burger.... Did the build your own burger, bacon, mayo, sauteed onions, sauteed mushrooms, cheddar bun. Burger SUPER over done, not even a little juicy. Dry as a brick. I think there were 3 mushrooms, and maybe 4 little pieces of sauteed onion. Gave me a sesame seed bun. Not what I ordered, which was the cheddar bun. Absolute crap. The seasoned fries were quite good however. Don't fall for the new burger commercial. You'll be sorry, believe me. Finally had to have Grub Hub cancel my order for me after waiting almost 2 hours for an order Denny's confirmed. I called the location numerous times and kept getting a busy signal. Not the first time Denny's has let me down. I don't suggest Denny's by any means. The delivery service was not the problem here. Had to ask 4x for my sons drink, my wife had to ask 2x for ranch that was supposed to be on her sandwich by default, I had to ask 3x for the bourbon sauce and mustard that was supposed to be on my burger. My water cup was dirty, the waiter seem clueless on how to do his job or how basic hygiene works as we could absolutely smell him. After receiving our food and finally getting everything we ordered we dug in which lasted a literal 2 bites for me before finding 2 hairs clearly not from anyone's head at the table in my food. After this we got my meal removed from the ticket and 15% off the rest of the ticket. However we could hear employees talking loudly in the back about my family and I (for reference I'm hard of hearing and I did not have my hearing aids in). Hmmm, as the old adage goes "people don't go to Denny's, they simply end up at Denny's". A known commodity, we were whelmed with our food after pulling an almost-all-nighter doing some computer maintenance at work. So where to go at oh-dark-thirty when you're hungry? Your options are limited. I wasn't thrilled with our food, but then again, I didn't get trichinosis, either. Let's just say "expectations were met" and leave it at that. Unfortunately, the night of our visit, the staff seemed pretty reluctant to shoo overly-drunk people out, people who were loud, rude, and describing in gory detail the status of their latest love/lust conquests. I thought two female patrons were actually going to get into some sort of WWF smack-down, right at the table. I guess the grease and rich creamery butter dolloped over all that Denny's breakfast goodness just quickly bonded to the alcohol molecules in these peep's bodies, resulting in some sort of sobriety. It may not be excellent food, but it's one of the only places in Madison open 24 hours, year round, with Christmas and New Years as well. The food is consistent so you know what you'll be getting. The restaurant itself looks well taken care of, and my visit was clean. The decor looks newly renovated and is much better than other Dennys I've been to, both in the area and out of state. For starters, this place has a very strong moldy smell to it. From looking at the old stained carpets, this seems where it may be comming from. Next, I ordered a soda and my glass was dirty and had oily stains from it. I've been to other Denny's Resturants, but this by far is the dirtiest establishment I've been to. I was afraid to try the food, fearing that the Kitchen (shielded from view) would be worse than what customers are able to see. I hereby have to say worst management ever. I applied less than a month ago when I interviewed with Gina and Mike they said I could be a great addition to their business at such interview I got the job, A week passes by no call which they said they'd do a follow up on and that I'd get my I-9 forms in my email. I called multiple times and 9/10 got a busy signal and when I called to speak to a manager the person who answered the phone would say they are unavailable (understandable because places get busy.) I spoke to both managers multiple times over the phone explaining how I still haven't received such email. After a week I personally walked in Thursday 08/22/2019 at approximately noon and asked if I could speak to such managers... I was greeted by a rude waitress who asked what I was doing, I explained my situation and then asked to see the manager she walked away for about 5 minutes and then came back out from the back of the restaurant saying "she could not find any of the managers." When I received my phone call from GM Mike today 08/24/2019 he seemed to not believe that I called or was even there to begin with and tried to defend his staff as if I were lying to him. I have never been more frustrated in a company in my life so displeased with the services from my visit taking the time out of my day to be so rudely spoken too and management for being so disorganized. read more

Horrible service. We waited 35 minutes to get waited on and waited 35 more minutes before we asked to see a manager. He then was the one to bring out our food well after we'd been there over an hour. Other tables which had arrived after us in the neighboring "section" had already been served, ate, and had left. The fix??? $5 off our bill. Ugh! Do not eat here!!! Worst experience in service we've ever had!!! We are barely going to make the Brewers game on time, and we wanted to be to the game early for Bobblehead day. I called in my order and went to pick it up. I live a few blocks away when I got home all my food was cold, my onion rings were burnt they gave me 7. I ordered the bacon cheese tots and they gave me 6 of those which was also cold. I immediately called them back to inform the manager, but no one would answer the phone. This was on 2/3/18 at about 8PM. I was unable to go right back due to the severe weather. I continued to call with no answe. I called the next morning and spoke with the general manager Bill. The manager was rude and basically called me a liar then proceeded to tell me he'll speak to the manager who was working but she won't be back for a few days. He also told me they gave me 1 too many onion rings that it should have only been 6. I spent over $30 on my food and was very unsatisfied. This is the same Denny'sthat my son and nephew risked their life to stop the robbery in progress a few years ago. This Denny's is terrible. The service is very slow and not professional. Their staff is not friendly. The food has seen better days. If you order an appetizer, expect to get it with your meal. And don't expect refills or any sort of prompt/comeback service. And there's always at least one worker (or manager??) who will be outside smoking, usually with other customers! I've gone to this Denny's for years and never once had a problem at ALL with needing my service dog with me. I have severe PTSD and D.I.D which I have notes from my psychiatrist about the importance of Spot. I never had a problem having him with me until tonight. Tonight, I went in with my parents excited about pancakes and milkshake but unfortunately, I received neither. Instead, their rent-a-cop for the night [who also claimed to be a dog trainer] personally and mentally attacked me and my family. He claimed that he wasn't allowed in there because he's not a 'real service dog because of his breed' and that 'small dogs were considered ESA and not allowed in'. He made it seem like I was faking having a mental disorder! I don't know how I got out to the car but apparently my father helped me out when I couldn't respond. My dog is trained to provide a service that I need! He's been trained! Everyone at this location LOVES [or so I hope] him! NEVER EVER had any problem at all with ANY of the rent-a-cops there. Tonight. Problem. I will be informing not only Yelp, Twitter, Facebook, and any other social media of this problem but I will be telling EVERYONE in the greater madison area [especially my mental health team] about this. We stopped in here on a Sunday morning as a sort of last resort to get a bit of greasy sustenance in us. As far as chain breakfast diners goes Denny's is sort of my stand by. It was pretty busy so we waited for maybe 10 minutes before being seated. The staff seemed pretty overwhelmed by the amount of people there, which is kind of ridiculous considering it was Sunday at 11 am. They randomly refilled our waters and we only got 2 cups of coffee for the hour and a half we were sitting there. Also I ordered all you can eat pancakes, sweet deal at 4 bucks but they only asked if I wanted more one time. Of course I said yes, but only out of principle. I'm not paying for all you can eat just to be swindled by some chain. Decent food, shitty service. I'd say I won't go back to this location but I think this is just a matter of Denny's in general. In middle school I was at a Denny's in Philadelphia and this dude came in with a bloody rag over his hand asking my sister to help find his girlfriend. Actually I should review that Denny's.
