Terrible service. The waitress was the rudest and worst ever after I asked nicely for a new glass since mine was chipped. She didn't even clear our plates after we were done eating or asked if we needed anything during dinner. She seemed irritated by everything we asked for and I was afraid she was going to spit in my food to be honest. The size of the plates has also reduced significantly but not the prices and we left hungry, even after eating a full meal there. Not coming back. read more

I haven't been to Perkins for a year, but popped in today so my partner could redeem her birthday reward. When you sign up for Perkins rewards, you get a free Magnificent 7 (2 eggs, 2 bacon or sausage, and 3 pancakes) for your birthday! The Mag 7 pancakes were full size and come with maple syrup. The meal was hot and pancakes were fluffy and delicious. My partner ordered the Lunch Duo and got half roast beef sandwich and tomato basil soup. The roast beef were tender and juicy. However, the soup fell short of expectations as it was not hot and tasted like a cheaper canned soup. They're also famous for their pies. I don't frequent Perkins, but all in all was a good meal with great service. read more

Dissapointing. We stopped by at 1:45 on a Sunday afternoon, the place was not busy, I could see about 5 other tables with patrons. We were seated quickly which was a good sign! And the server quickly came over to take our drink orders. Then we waited... and waited... and waited. Finally at 2:10 (25 mins later) I looked over at the person at the cash register and gave them the "what's going on look", they raised their finger in the "just a sec" motion.. and then dissappeared, just like the server and hostess. About 3 minutes later our server came out with a tray full of food for one of the other tables, but NO DRINKS for us. It had been nearly a half hour, sitting at a table with no beverages, and the server never came back to even take our order. We got up and left and went down the block to Rocky's, where we were treated wonderfully. Perkins lost a $100 sale, the waitress a $20 tip. What a joke. I think we only sat around waiting that long because we really wanted pie for dessert that day. But we had a pizza pie instead. The management really needs to step it up, NEVER leave a table without drinks. I have no idea what the server was doing during that time because they never came back to the floor after taking our beverage order. Even if the server is on a break, the Manager should step it up and cover for them if there is a table waiting. Not planning on going back to this location ever, this is not the first time we had crummy service. To bad because its about a 4 minute drive from MIL's house, and they have a good variety to satisfy everyone, but just can't see patronizing a place that can't even deliver a beverage service with-in 5 mins of taking the order, let alone returning to actually take the order. read more

The second visit within two week for breakfast about 11:30 was busy and only two waiters. after finally getting our beverages and ordering it took 45 minutes to get an order of - cheese omelet, fried potatoes and muffin with the other order being 1 fried egg, potatoes, sausage links and toast. very under staffed. There was a 10 mins wait on a Sunday afternoon and we were seated near the register. Kinda surprised to see so many customers as it was past lunch time. Strawberry festival is going on and they got all sorts of strawberries items. Got my half sandwich, salad and pie for $9.99 while hubby got breakfast. Both meals came put pretty fast. Our friendly waitress Jody checked on us a few times. Food tasted good. We are both stuffed and satisfied! Oh we signed up the Perkins reward so we shall see what promotions they have in the future. Dropped by Perkin's on a late night food run to get the country fried and was not disappointed. Pretty solid portions on both entrees and they came out INSANELY QUICK. Nothing else besides the country fried steak stuck out to me, but definitely want to revisit to try their other options because they have a large menu! Great for breakfast. Stopped in and tried the seasonal Pumpkin Spice Pancakes. They far exceeded my expectations! The pancakes were nicely spiced and tender and topped with delicious whipped cream. She was rude and inconsiderate to my family and also the table behind me which also had two African-American ladies being served. I was pleasantly surprised by both the food and the service during a 2am food run. Back in March, my now-husband and I were in Madison making plans for our wedding and he was telling me all about his late-night trips to Perkins with friends. He honestly never said anything about the food being good. Rather, it was more like a, "food's food" kind of deal. Some of the other Yelp reviews mentioned god-awful service and that's what I was afraid we were going to get. Instead, the one girl working was really friendly and straight to the point. She got us a table, took our orders, made sure we had coffee refills, and was never too far away if we needed help with something else. I had a plate with hash browns, two eggs over easy, two sausage links, and two strips of bacon. It also came with french toast! Husband had their biscuits and gravy, and I think it came with some pancakes. My eggs were cooked well, not over or under. The food was really greasy... but how can it not be lol. I also ordered a blueberry muffin and deeply regret not getting a couple more for our breakfast the next day because they were slightly crunchy on the outside and perfectly fluffy on the inside. Even though I can't really say Perkins is better than IHOP or Denny's, the only big chains of this type in LA, I'm glad I had a chance to try it. The food is crazy cheap for what you get. read more

A recent visit found this place to be in need of a good clean. Ceiling tiles missing, ceiling tile filthy, bench seats and table were not wiped before we sat. Hostess missing when we came in plus another couple waiting. Backend worker had to find hostess so we could be seated. Hostess not welcoming, acted as if we were interrupting her day. Time of day 7 am, restaurant had 4 tables being served. Food average, 55 plus menu good options. Coffee was great. read more

I didn't really have very high expectations for this place, however I was pleasantly surprised with our dinner experience last night. The food was very good. Especially the bacon cheeseburger dinner. The bun was warm, nicely toasted, and buttered. The burger was full of very fresh veggie toppings, and it was very well put together. Kareem our waiter did a fantastic job. We are here for breakfast. Plus the waiter needs customer service training. One of my guests actually wiped the table cuz it was full of sticky mess. I woulda gladly waited rather than have been seated at a dirty table. Then the waiter screwed up the order. All the food is cold . Didn't put one in so here we sit. My pragmatic side of culinary pleasure compels the desire to seek out places that are akin to the eat out fare I grew up with. Denny's and the roadside corporate eateries littering every inhabited region. Compounded with a great need for sausage gravy and biscuits, something I shouldn't eat but do regardless of my cholesterol and high blood pressure. I view this as giving the meds something to do since aside from this indulgence I tell myself I both drive too fast to be concerned with these health issues. My doctor isn't keen to this lame joke. He's probably right. Today was such a day. I ordered the dreaded time-bomb in great expectation of the ecstatic tastebud happy ending. But this was killed. I failed to notice that cheese was to be atop my gravy. Cheddar may have been acceptable, though I have no idea having not tried it. American cheese is NOT. Totally melted and contaminated the gravy. Making this taste like the cheap version of store bought Mac and Cheese. Having also anticipated sausage gravy, I was not expecting a pair of rubber low caliber sausage patties sandwiched between the microwave warmed biscuits. On the positive: eggs were correct and the bacon was even better. On a whole, this wasn't terrible. Just not anything I'll proclaim as a hit. As for the restaurant, plenty of patrons, the restroom was up to par and the waitress was a very attentive and non bothersome presence. Post script: one star is being retracted. After departing and driving away I became aware and most certainly irritated when I realized the edge of my table was coated with a veneer of syrup. As I drove I felt my elbow was adhering to my side. Something not evident while seated in restaurant. So the tables surface appearance was fine, the edge left me with what I now view as a series or band, of stickiness I'm force to deal with, and the visual aspect means my clients will see I am more slovenly than I would like to have presented as. Their normal hours are open until 10pm. I showed up at 8:15pm. I tried to open the door, it was locked. There was a note on the door they had closed early at 8pm, no reason given. An employee came out and in a very angry voice loudly said "We're closed!" Then he stomped away. All he had to do is use a nice tone of voice. What a jerk. I go to Perkins all the time and am never treated like a trespasser. We had a nice meal at Denny's, they were polite and nice to us. My wife and I wanted to go some place to have breakfast, being it was later in the day we determined that the best place was Perkins. We entered the restaurant and it appeared clean and service was great right from the start. Our young waitress greeted us and took our drink order, got our drinks to us and took our orders. We even placed 2 to-go orders... We order a skillet with eggs, bacon, sausage, ham, crunchy potatoes, gravy and cheese, as well as Belgian French Toast platter. The food was very tasty and warm. Our drinks remained full and the customer service was great. We waited for over 40 minutes after ordering before we ate, people around us who arrived after us were finished eating by the time we ate. My wife's fried chicken biscuits were hard and burned, the turkey sausage was burned as well. We sent them back and they prepared them perfectly. We will return because the food was great, though late arriving. read more

Food was good, waitress was amazing. Only her and a pretty busy Perkins at 11pm. She did amazing but of course slower because of it only being her. It amazed me how the host didn't do anything to help her stayed behind the counter and watched as the waitress struggled. Not only that but his attitude was terrible didn't even greet us when we walked in just sat us down. I went Perkins in Madison on Saturday Aug 19th for breakfast. Worst customer service I have ever experienced at a Perkins. The waitress was very rude and seemed like she did not want to even take our order. I waited over 45 minutes to get my food. That is ridiculous. We asked when our food was going to come out and when she finally did bring it out as she was walking away she was calling us rude about asking were are food was. She needs to be fired! Out of all the chain breakfast places, I probably will always pick Perkins. Mostly because they have a large variety of choices and their pies. If you join their Perkins Club, you get a free breakfast meal for your birthday. You always get to know what the Wednesday special is. Secret's Put: buy one get one entree. Good for families and kid friendly. They also offer Late Night Bites. Every night after 9pm, you can get all you can eat pancakes for $5.99, burger, fries and coke combo for $8.99, and 1/2 price appetizers (not a lot of options in this category) and 1/2 off slices of pie. I typically stick to their breakfast options. I love their breakfast potatoes. Eggs are always cooked to order. Their pancakes are great. Coffee is decent. Pies are good. I've had their chicken pot pie but it was very salty. However the crust was great. The manager on duty always walks by tables and also helps out when it gets busier. This is one of the reasons I like coming here when I don't want to cook at home. read more

When you need a late night weeknight dinner, you can count on Perkins to be open. The BF and I went to a later moving screening without having had dinner so we were both hungry after 10. He has a lifelong love of Perkins, so off we went. There were a surprising amount of people filling the dining room for a late weeknight, but that worked in our favor as they were appropriately staffed and service was fairly quick. While they have late night specials like half-priced slices of pie and AYCE pancakes, I went with the sandwich I had always ordered in high school: the chicken tenders melt. I don't even want to think about how bad it is for you, but in the moment it hit the spot/scratched that nostalgic itch. At least until I got to a tender that was half connective tissue, anyway. This is par for the course at many chains; no one takes the time to clean the chicken properly, be it in house or at the factory where it's mass-produced. I don't know which is the culprit at Perkins, but I learned years ago to proceed with caution. I'm probably never going to suggest Perkins as our destination, but since my gent enjoys it I'm sure we'll be back here and there. read more

Despite the sign that said "masks required" the manager told me she wasn't going to force him to put a mask on and if I was concerned that I could leave.
