We eat here at least once a week for breakfast. The waitress is great but her help calls out all the time and the manager or asst manager(I think) - Irene DOES NOT HELP HER. We watched her (waitress) turn over table after table & it was busy! All Irene did was occasionally come check somebody out otherwise she didn't do anything. The food was good though.. Probably the best pancakes I've ever had! My eggs were cold though, along with my bacon. At least the bacon was crispy, that was good. My sausage was hot though! Service wasn't too bad. Manager was super nice. Stood out and talked to one table while our food sat in the window for 15 minutes getting cold. Kept asking everyone how everything was instead of helping out. Not exactly sure how service and food are aweful on a Tuesday at 11:30pm at night. Manager made the waitress comp is then wouldnt look at us when we left. if you're hungry late night hit up the Taco Bell dumpster food will be comparable. read more

This place has went downhill so fast. The host finally greeted us while still chewing food in her mouth. Then she escorted us to a tiny little table and wiped it down with a dirty rag. Proceeded to put the dirty menus on a wet table. Asked if everything was alright without waiting for my response. The other servers looked tired and uninterested to say the least. They not only forgot our extra order of bacon that we paid for, but they didn't add toppings to either our specialty pancakes (icing) or crepes. We tried calling the establishment to see if we could be compensated, or get our extra bacon if we returned, but they repeatedly did not answer after 4 tries. This place is easily the best Denny's I've ever been too. Until today 5/18/2024. The waitress in here working tonight has her damn phone playing her music which wasn't playing very family appropriate music. Crap talking about having s*x and f**k this and f**k that. Which I get it not all my music is appropriate but I also don't blare it for everyone to hear while eating with their families. The most peaceful part of my meal was when she went out side for a break and took her crappy music with her. My waiter was awesome and the experience here as always been nice! Service from my waiter and the food 10/10 recommend it! But if I was the manger I'd fire that waitress that's complete bull. read more

The last two times we have been there were horrible experiences. The first time we were seated then ignored. Had to find a waitress to order drinks then couldn't find her when ready to order. She had gone on her break before taking our order. We finally ordered our food and someone else brought it out. We never got extra napkins or drink refills. We tried to complain when paying but were ignored. We tried again recently and we waited to be seated for 15 minutes and we weren't even acknowledged. Disregarding delayed service (with completely empty lobby) & 17 minute wait after placed order "a country fried steak with double side mac & cheese" quite simple order... Got to my truck (my fault for not checking) cold potato's the worst gravy I experienced. Definitely could blow $17 elsewhere when the menu said $10. I usually don't rate chain restaurants, but the outdated low ratings seemed a good reason enough. This Denny's location was probably one of the best I've ever been to - friendly/efficient service, deliciously fresh food, and an atmosphere paying homage to when they openned in the 50's. Although there was only 1 waitress on the floor (and we weren't the only customers) my group and I had our orders taken and were brought drinks within 5 min; and when the food came - goodness, what a feast! Their seasoned fries could have passed as beer-battered perfection and the chicken sandwhiches were tender with all the right seasoning. A member of my party needed health accomodations; they were very happy with the grilled salmon and steamed veggie plate. The only pic I couldn't get was of the pancake hush puppies - half the plate was gone before I had my phone out. If I evren take the I-70 between KC and STL again, I'm definitely stopping here! read more

The waitress was very nice and that's why it's not a lower rating. The hostess was a little rude and reminded me of Dexter from the cartoon Dexter's Laboratory; she didn't give us silverware. Two of our orders were incorrect and it took over 45 minutes to get our food. Ordered takeout on the app. I wouldve tipped more but dennys always fails so this time i just couldnt take the short end of the stick. Portions was good. I wish dennys quality was better lol. Normally we have good service and good food at Denny's kingdom city, tonight not so much. We went in around 8:30 PM, my wife, her service dog, and I. The server or cashier guarding the front door immediately jumped on my wife about her service dog. Even though the service dog was wearing it's service vest she demanded documentation or special identification which is a violation of Federal Law as is outlined on the Americas with Disabilities Service Dog card that I have posted a copy of. We requested to see the manager and had to do so repeatedly before she angrily and reluctantly did so. Unfortunately this individual was so rude and aggressive that the manager couldn't get a word in as she kept yelling over him. In fact he looked to be scared of this waitress or front counter person and spoke not a word. We decided after having our civil rights violated by this individual that we left and ate elsewhere. Twice I have stopped there and was ignored. 2 months ago I went in and stood at the wait to be seated sign for 20 minutes while the only waitress leaned against the counter playing on her phone. Took us 2 hours to have breakfast! There were 4 ladies working. 3 of them were working their butts off. Then there was the one sitting down chatting with a customer for a long time while custmers were getting frustrated and the other ladiess were running as fast as they could. Then she would see food ready to go out and not help her fellow coworkers by taking it to the tables. She would only take the food that was for her tables and ignore the rest. On top of that, she was bossy and rude to her coworkers. The food, once we got it, was pretty good. Our server was doing the best she could. Management needs to look at their employees and see who is a team player and who isn't. read more

Was seated right away. The waitress took our order and was very nice and funny. She really loved her job here, you could tell it. Ordered the salted caramel banana pancakes, these are so good. My family and I went to Dennys after the Fulton derby on Saturday night and had an awful experience. It took us at least 10-15 min to get our drinks and when we did our waitress never came back for refills. We had to ask another worker who was off duty that night to get us a couple pitchers of tea to keep at the table. Our food took a while to cook which I get as we had a big party however some of the food was cold when it was brought out and 2 of my family members did not even receive their food! The waitress kept saying it was coming but it never did. When we went to pay, we all paid separately but when they split the tickets they did every person on their own ticket instead of those who were paying together on one ticket which made it harder to combine each check at the register. What really made me mad was that the manager said he could not take off the food that we did NOT receive and we still had to pay for it. He said he could give us a discount but of course it was a small discount and nothing to even matter. They also said that no one paid and everyone just left which was not true at all and so basically the last person left to pay was stuck with the whole bill but Dennys charged them almost 100 dollars MORE than what the actual bill came out to be on the original ticket. Needless to say that will be the LAST time my family and I go to Dennys! read more

We went to Denny's when we stayed in Kingdom City for the night on a trip and it was as good as I remembered it. We don't have one in our area anymore. I had a grilled cheese sandwich with a twist. It had mozzerella sticks in it! Wow...dip that in some marinera, it's pretty brilliant. My dad had a choose your own slam where you get to pick 4 breakfast foods and he really liked it. Mom did the same thing but she wasn't as impressed. She asked for cheese on her hashbrowns and it was pretty dried up. She thought the foods was kinda bland and one of her yolks was broken in the eggs. She said it was pretty good but nothing to "write home about" Price was reasonable and the food was overall good and the people were friendly. I'd go back again if I were in town. read more

Whole restaurant was being run by two females until a male cook showed up. I reluctantly entered expecting poor service due to previous reviews but I was in for a big surprise. A young blonde immediately greeted me with such enthusiasm I felt so welcomed. Not only was she the host, she was my server and probably even my cook as I spotted her in the kitchen along side an older woman. As more patrons entered the restaurant her service and attitude didn't slow one bit. My order was correct. She brought extra napkins and refilled my coffee before I even asked. She scooped up my dirty plates almost immediately and brought me a coffee to go before even dropping off the bill. Like WOW! I didn't hear anyone in the restaurant have to summon her attention as she was constantly making her rounds without skipping a beat. The best part of it all was her attitude. Not stressed. Not rushed, super bubbly. I will gladly stop by next time I'm in town. read more

Well, it's Denny's, so if you like Denny's, you know what it is. I really like their strawberry crepes a lot. I think it's a limited time, but it shouldn't be. The air conditioning was cold (like my heart) which was much more refreshing than the heat and humidity outside. I came in after midnight, and had the whole place to myself. I expect that the after midnight crowd will come stumbling in before long, and that's okay. I got served quick, and it was good. I'm glad I stopped in. read more

Horrible dining experience. There was only one waitress, serving 10-15 tables at a time. We waited 50 minutes for our food. When the food arrived, it was poor quality. The pancakes and sausage were rubbery. The banana slices I had ordered for my son were covered in brown spots. And all of the food was room temp. They mixed up my eggs with my sister's eggs and we had to push stuff around on our plates and switch them ourselves. We received an apology for the wait but weren't offered coupons, a discount, or complimentary dessert or ANYTHING to make amends for the ridiculous wait. We then waited 15 minutes for our check. I felt so bad for the other customers coming in behind us. None of the Denny's staff even warned them that they were short handed and that the wait would be long. I've noticed that Denny's had been slipping in terms of service and food quality, and tonight was their last chance. I will NOT return to this restaurant. I'll go down the road to Petro instead. read more

I have eaten here a number of times over the years on the way from STL to Jeff City for breakfast. In the last few trips I have found the place to be progressively slipping in terms of the quality of the food and the how clean in general the place is kept., its like they have given up. Most recently my breakfast was cold as well as the other 4 member of my party and one person had a nasty hair in her eggs. The waitress was quick to get another plate, but really it was gross and the eggs should have been comped as a token of their concern. The place was pretty empty as it was 10:00am so it was not like the staff was rushed. The wait staff is still pretty cheerful and there when you need them but the rest of the place, well, in the future I'll seal out other places for my eggs and pancakes. read more
