Ordered to-go online and it was ready within 15 minutes. The Club Sandwich was thick, fresh and delicious. Probably the best club sandwich I've ever had. I was only able to eat half of it because it was so big. The homemade potato chips are fabulous! Not many restaurants make their own and that was the main reason we decided to Oscar's. We also tried the Fish & Chips. The fish was seasoned perfectly. We subbed a baked potato for the chips and it was huge! read more

Hands down !! The best food I've had in some time .. great atmosphere, friendly faces and smiles... love this old time diner ... 1000/10

Another great dinner at the best Diner! Chicken fried chicken in a heart shape! Crispy outside, tender and moist inside, seasoned green beans, plenty of gravy, and can't beat those yeast rolls. Fun atmosphere and decor. Attentive staff. read more

This is tough, the waitress I had was absolutely phenomenal, the hostess was also super nice and helpful. I ordered the eggs Benedict, and the eggs were so over cooked it was wild. I felt like they stuck two hard boiled eggs on the sausage and English muffins. The hollandaise was also not good. I didn't send my meal back and ask for them to correct it because my waitress was so nice, but legit learn to cook a poached egg; not hard! read more

Great service and a great menu. Breakfast, lunch etc. big portions. Can't lose with a burger and fries, but the omelette is huge and delicious! read more

The food was delicious and our server was so friendly and attentive. Food-wise there is something for everyone! Prices are very reasonable. read more

Yum! Oscar's is a classic dinner. The prices are so good and the food is incredible. I loved everything I tried. The only complaint from our table was that the cinnamon roll was a little dry. Other than that everyone loved their food. The service was great. I loved my breakfast burrito. The dinner is cute and decorated with retro photos and prints. Loved it. read more

Food is delicious. Atmosphere is pleasant and the restaurant is clean . Service is excellent.

Fun, retro diner vibes, extensive menu, quick service and delicious food! Lots of seating and perhaps the best coffee I've had. Worth a stop when going through Jeff City. The sausage patties were some of best ever, too. read more

Foods good. Service is good. The only reason I dont eat there more often is fox news. No one wants to see or hear stories maxe up to make trump look good while you eat. Just stop it. read more

I have eaten at Oscar's many, many times and for the first time was disappointed. I had the open faced roast beef. 1/2 of the beef, it seemed, was fat. My server was very prompt and professional but I really felt I was being rushed to leave. Sunday early afternoon. I was alone and the restaurant was not AT ALL crowded. I really don't understand the need to get me out of there. read more

Had a really enjoyable dinner here! Very friendly service and some of the best diner food: we really enjoyed the french dip and the chicken fried steak. The French fries were done perfectly, and the dinner roll was fluffy and yummy. Highly recommend the coconut cream pie too! read more

OSCAR's LET ME DOWN, this time. My VISIT was poor. I was invited to Oscar's for the first time for my birthday, with 6 adults, great service and hot and fresh food. I wrote a great review. The second time there a friend drove 90 minutes and met me at Oscar's for a late lunch, again. He ordered something previously ordered the last time I was there. When it came, it was like Night and Day. The fish sandwich was dried up and barely matched the size of the bun. My Reuben had a grease puddle in the plate. We ate anyway and he didn't know any better but he did complain to me. After we ate, I ordered a cup of coffee. The server said, "if you are willing to wait, I'll need to put on a pot because we don't have any coffee right now". I said, Yes, that would be nice". While waiting, my guest decided he wanted a beer. When the server returned he ordered the beer. While dining, the manager was vacuuming with the non-electric vacuum cleaner underneath the unoccupied booths close to where we sat. When the coffee came the creamer on the table CURDLED UP my cup. It was spoiled. We waited 10 minutes for her to bring the beer and then waited again for me to get fresh creamers and a new cup of coffee. I've worked in restaurants behind the scene and as a server. I was so EMBARRASSED I suggested Oscar's and am still not sure why we had such a terrible experience this time? We tipped appropriately, anyway when we paid our bill at the table. Upon leaving there was a group of staff towards the front all chatting with one another and the restaurant was not busy at the time. read more

This place is the OG of restaurants. The vibe is laid back and retro, while the service is generally friendly and on top of things. The food is delicious every time! Their breakfast, lunch, and dinner is worth stopping in for. I've had it all! This is my favorite restaurant in Mid-Mo no doubt! read more

The food was delicious with not too long of a wait time. I loved the old school diner decor. Great place to bring kids with reasonably priced kids meals. They forgot to bring us silverware is my one complaint. I would definitely go back! read more

This is still the worst breakfast place ever. The food quality is McDonald's at best. I swear they just use the cheapest option for everything. It's all margarine and American cheese and had lettuce and white bread. There's absolutely no nothing that taste anything outside of a cafeteria. I feel like I'm eating grade school food when I come here. read more

Great selections, fair prices and friendly people! Parking lot always seems to be full of people enjoying what we enjoy!

We went during the week for breakfast. We were seated and then proceeded to watch waitress after waitress walk right by our table! After sitting at our table for 10 minutes, without assistance, we almost walked out!!!!!! FINALLY, we were able to flag someone down who called over the person who was supposed to wait on our table. Ironically, this VERY person had walked right by us at least a half a dozen times....and didn't even bother to stop and wait on us. I think her name was Lynn. She chose to spend more time yacking it up with people, whom she knew, at the front counter. We finally got drinks ordered and our food served. She never once checked on us!!!!!! And then, upon bringing our check wanted to give us coffee even tho we had asked for it during our meal and never got it!!!!! If I could've left a tip for the cook, I might have. But, we don't tip for awful service. The food is mediocre, at best. Find another breakfast venue! This one is sorely overrated! read more

Fun atmosphere. Friendly staff and wonderful food ‼ They have a large menu and some nights they offer great entertainment ‼‼‼

My first visit in quite a while. Menu has significantly shrunk. Efficient and friendly service. Reasonable prices. Fiancée has a non remarkable Strawberry Salad. I had an equally unremarkable Philly Cheesesteak. read more

Really could not say enough wonderful things about this diner: superb service, delicious food, safe parking... The only sadness is that we don't live close enough to go again! read more

The food: My breaded tenderloin sandwich was seasoned well (better than Big Mama's if you're from the area and can appreciate the comparison). Onion rings were just okay. My husband got the country fried steak with mashed potatoes and green beans and he liked all of it. There was ample gravy. Portion sizes were large. I liked the fact that they had multiple diet soda offerings (Diet Coke, Coke Zero, Diet Dr. Pepper and Sprite Zero). We almost skipped dessert because no one offered it and we nearly forgot we wanted to take a piece of pie home. On our way out we passed the pie cooler and remembered, picked up a piece of coconut cream pie and it was good but I've had better. The atmosphere: This is what really brought the score down. In these divisive times I will never understand why an owner/manager would allow (unnecessary) televisions to be turned to Fox News. Most times if I go into a business and they have Fox News on I just turn around and walk back out. By the time I noticed we had already ordered drinks and were starving so I stayed. I feel completely unwelcome in establishments that make a point of broadcasting right wing propaganda. If they didn't want to alienate half of their potential patrons they could tune in to old sitcoms (they've got classic TV pictures on the walls), HGTV, or even sports. Or just get rid of the TV's. I don't go out to eat to sit in front of a TV, most people don't. The service: It was fine. We didn't require much. I would have liked it if they offered to go cups and dessert. But they took our order quickly, the food came out in decent time, and they kept our drinks full. Bottom line: We probably won't go back anytime soon. There are more than enough diner food options that don't require me to sit in front of Fox News. This place was nothing special. read more

ordered a turkey melt it is super disappointing what I got, no where near the description listed it was just a greasy mess for 15 bucks. bread bacon and two pieces of meat & over cooked fries. this place use to have great food but I guess not any more. read more

I had breakfast at Oscar's with some of my siblings. I had the country eggs Benedict and a couple of my siblings ordered the Denver omelette. The sausage has a slight kick to it which I enjoyed. I asked for the eggs medium, I should have asked for them less cooked. The Hollandaise sauce was flavorful. Overall, 4 stars on food. The atmosphere was nice and the place was clean. The staff was friendly and attentive. read more

I have been to Oscar's several times over the years and I have never been disappointed. Their food is amazing, their staff is friendly, and I love the environment. It is a very nice place to grab a bite. They are so friendly. And you get your money worth when you come in. I would recommend it to anyone.

I finally just moved back to Jeff after leaving here for the Army in 1968. Never been to Oscars. Yesterday I went there for Veterans Day, and they were incredibly nice. I showed up without my Vet ID card and they just took my word that I was a veteran and gave me a free lunch. The service was wonderful, the food was great. Only problem is that at 10:45am on Friday, Veteran's Day Oscar's was so popular, that I had to wait about 10 minutes for a table, I look forward to returning for dinner soon. Even then, they told me they will give me a 15% veteran's discount. Hey folks, servers work hard. Don't tip on the discounted bill, tip on what the bill would have been WITHOUT YOUR DISCOUNT. read more

My wife and I got togo from Oscar's tonight. It was our first time. We had the French dip and the open faced roast beef sandwich. Both were amazing! The mashed potatoes were good, but the gravy excellent. We are here for one more month and will definitely be back to try the pies, which looked so good. The staff were great as well. As I waited for my food, I started having a low blood glucose and my alarm went off. They were kind enough to get me a Dr. Pepper and didn't charge me for it. Highly recommend. read more

Food great-fast service- blue cheese dressing plentiful and good quantity of chunks of cheese would come again

Not to be missed breakfast. We went for an anniversary brunch with our family. Great meal, great value, great time was had by all!

The food was excellent. It was nice and clean, the deco was nice. I gave it four stars because of the service. Our waitress came to our table right after we sat down, took our drink order. Came back with our drinks and took our order, and we never saw her again till she brought our check. She spent a lot of time talking to her friends at the counter. Yes, I would definitely go back. It is a well known restaurant for its good food. If you get a chance to stop in you won't be disappointed. Unless you get the waitress that waited on us. read more

I went here at 10:00 on a Saturday morning with my son. It was very busy, but they did a good job getting people in and out. Our server was friendly and we didn't have to wait very long for our food. The portion size for my breakfast burrito was very generous and we definitely didn't leave hungry! My son's breakfast plate was standard but good. The atmosphere in here is great, the food was good, and speed of service was good too. The only thing missing was taste of the food- just tasted bland, everyday, nothing that I'd call truly "unique." Other than that though, a really nice experience here! read more

I just finished eating breakfast, the country eggs benedict. I've eaten here several times and the food is always good and plentiful. Most importantly, the staff is always cheerful and polite. They all seem to enjoy the place and you better be ready to chat when they drop by your table. Not always chatting time when the place is full so don't hold that against them! The place always seem like a great place. Better than home, no dishes and great atmosphere. read more

Three of us stopped in for a Sunday Brrakfast at 9:30am. There was standing room only for waiting patrons. The greeter told us it would be 25 minutes but we were seated in 15. It's definitely a family diner with a mix of old timers and young families. Service and food were equally good. Service was mostly young high school/college girls. Crispy hash browns were great covered with cheese & gravy. Pancakes were fluffy but the cheap syrup didn't do them any favors. My highlight was the omelette Florentine. It was fluffy w/spinach, bacon bits and peppers with a good amount of gooey cheese. The portions are more than enough. The three of us ate for $32+ tip. I gave it 4 stars due to cheap pancake syrup and no flavored coffee creamers. read more

Food was good. Large portions, not expensive. Service was terrible. Our waitress I hope was new. You probably have to wait for a table. We waited about 45 minutes which was fine. We were coming home from a long distance running race. So waiting was fine. read more

I don't understand why people rave about this place. First, I got my plate within five minutes of ordering. To me that's very suspicious. Because I got chicken fried steak for breakfast and that always takes awhile. Then I figured out why. It was out of a box. Both my ex-wives were in the restaurant business and I know machine made food when I see it and that was not hand breaded. It was from a box of frozen ones. The eggs were ok. But the hashbrowns... were a crime against hashbrowns. Burnt on the outside, wet, and almost cold in the middle. Clearly cooked from frozen and cooked way too hot, too fast. No salt, no pepper. No seasoning of any kind. So I added salt, pepper, gravy, _and_ my eggs to them and _still_ couldn't finish them. They were terrible. I won't go back. read more
