Service was absolutely horrible, we had to wait forever and then was served old coffee that tasted sour. They were out of everything - no chips, no turkey, no mushrooms, no onion rings, no ranch, no buffalo sauce were just the list as I tried to order anything off their menu. The easy convenience of eating her while staying at hotel Nevada is definitely not worth it. read more

Wasn't expecting a lot from Denny's in general but this was terrible. We had a small order and every other table got their food before us. Even the big orders. Our waitress brought my juice out with the food. Eggs were nasty and the sausage was burnt. Pancakes were mush and hash brown portion was tiny. Good thing I was just passing through. I won't be stopping in this city for anything ever again. read more

Denny's - Breakfast & Brunch Near Me - Ely, Nevada

There are few people in Ely NV this Wednesday morning at 9 am. There are fewer choices for breakfast -- so, like they say, no one "goes" to Dennys, they only "end up" there. Here's yet another reason why... With limited choices we went across the street from our motel and joined a line of about 10 other people. One party was seated -- and then the hostess disappeared. We waited 6 1/2 minutes (I timed it) for someone to reappear. During that time small two parties ahead of us left (one with free breakfast coupons!). Both had waited even longer. Several waiters walked past us -- some multiple times. One made eye contact and looked away. One employee busily swapped empty plastic cartons around in some sort of stainless steel cabinet. AT NO TIME DID ANYONE HAVE THE COURTESY TO SAY, "Sorry for the wait -- we're (short-handed, very busy, whatever). Someone will be right with you."" When a second employee made eye contact with an obviously-displeased me and walked on, WE LEFT. We WENT to an out-of-the-way McDonalds, were greeted by a friendly cashier (who apologized for the short wait!) and had a good value meal. Ely is a depressed (and depressing) small town. With such limited resources, Ely doesn't need or deserve such an Ambassador of Ill Will or Neglect as this Dennys. read more

I got food to go and was completely disappointed/disgusted. My blueberry pancakes were raw. My omelette was 1/4 the size of any regular omelette and mangled. I also got a burger, came with the wrong kind of fries and was extremely bland/soggy. I know it's ely but come on! read more

We had breakfast at this Denny's, food was good, server was prompt and got everything we need it right, extra hot water, extra milk for coffee, all good, nothing to complain. read more

Passing through Ely and had a hankering for some diner food. Unfortunately, Ely mostly has taco shops, which are great but not what I was craving at 9am. Yelp to the rescue! I was a bit hesitant after seeing the 2-star average for this Denny's. People should always be aware that there are a lot of malcontents that poorly review every place they eat...so I went in to see for myself (as everyone should). The first thing I noticed is how nice and clean it is compared to most Denny's I have been to as it is located inside a casino. The hostess (Mary) was pleasant and attentive (see photo). Within 6 or so minutes, my order was ready and it was delicious. The kitchen folks did a superb job making my breakfast! Thank you, Denny's, for a wonderful dining experience. read more

Denny's - Mary, my hostess, who is an AWESOME Denny's employee! - Breakfast & Brunch Near Me - Ely, Nevada

The only reason I'm giving it a 1 star is because our server was nice. My advice fire the chef out of 5 of us at the table not one of us could eat our food. It wasn't bad it was disgusting. read more

If i could leave 0 stars I would, we came in for lunch before the white pine motorcycle rally and waited almost 20min to even be acknowledged. No one too a drink order and we just sat. When the waitress came to take our order the waitress sat down and made herself at home taking everyones order. 35min later they bring the salad. 1/2 of our party got their meal while the rest waited even longer, even though we all ordered at the same time. DO NOT GO HERE UNLESS YOU WANT TO WAIT AND BE ANNOYED AND NEVER ACKNOWLEDGED read more

My wife and I were staying in town for a couple of days and decided to visit the historic Hotel Nevada. The restaurant there has been replaced by a Denny's. We ordered the sirloin steak and eggs special. After a somewhat long wait our plates arrived, the first thing that my wife noticed was that the hash browns had hair in them, after we got the waitress's attention the hash browns were replaced. My medium well sirloin was practically raw and the beer that I had ordered (to be brought in from the bar), never did arrive. The Sirloin was taken back and brought up to somewhere near medium. My wife ordered desert but no vanilla ice cream, she ordered a Dr Pepper but they were out of that too. The old restaurant at the Hotel Nevada had ambiance good food and good service, the replacement Denny's, not so much, lesson learned. read more

There is a mask mandate in NV. Only one server/employee was actually wearing one. The person at the front desk, wearing a football jersey and bluejeans was incredibly uninterested in being pleasant or helpful. Once seated, our order was taken. Unmasked server came back 5 minutes later to inform us they didn't have the ingredients for what we ordered. Once our food was delivered, our server never came back. My bacon was cold. Sausage was burned. No salt or pepper for the eggs. Our server spent all her time chatting with another, obviously local couple discussing Covid and masks. We are staying at Hotel Nevada and get free breakfast vouchers for Dennys. We said "no thanks". Would rather pay for someplace else then go through that ordeal again. read more

Food quality = Terrible Service = Terrible Service was slow. We received nachos that basically consisted of liquid cheese and chilli on corn chips. Burger was OK, fries were undercooked. My wife and daughter ordered the Chicken Gouda skillet. Both were covered in a thick layer of liquid cheese substance that appeared to have been applied to the dish with a caulking gun. Both dishes were unappealing, and by all accounts tasted disgusting. We told the cashier ... an unprofessional kid, that we had a terrible meal ... He chose to argue with me as opposed to getting the manager involved. I'll likely not go there again. read more

We have had breakfast three mornings in a row at Denny's. Our server has been Tami. She is a delight. She got our order correct and she checked back on frequently. However not too often that she interfered with any conversation. I'd would happily have her as a waitress anytime. read more

Wow. Pretty bad even for Denny's. Inept staff that forget your existence? Sure! The burgers were the driest bordering burnt burger I've probably ever had. Then I ordered a single scoop of ice cream with hot fudge. This got made then forgotten about...so I had cold hot fudge and melty ice cream. read more

Would not recommend sitting down or taking out. Used to order Denny's every day off of their app, which is extremely convenient after work, but after consecutively messing up my orders because their employees throwaway the online tickets or waiting an additional 30 minutes after my meal has already been cooked to receive what I have already paid for over the app. What has really thrown me over the edge is the lack of moral and quality service from the middle aged Hispanic waiter who always sucks the energy out of coming in after work to get my food. read more

Ordered the Cobb salad with prime rib. I should have just gone to Ridleys and got one out of the deli. The prime rib looked and tasted like old pieces they just cut up and threw on top. The only reason I stopped in here was Juanitas tacos across the street was closed. read more

We enjoy going to Dennys, however this is by far the worst Dennys that we have ever been to. We ate here on three seperate occasions and all were terrible. They were out of several items on the menu, the service was very poor, took a long time to get our food, had to take our drinks to the counter to get refills and the manager didn't act like a manager at all. Like I said, we like Dennys, just not this poorly ran one with ZERO customer service. read more

Where do I start. The food took forever to come to my table. My toast was stale. All my orders were wrong. Starting with cheese was missing from my eggs. My skillet was supposed to have scrambled eggs they were sunny side up. I ordered a omelet and got a lumberjack slam. I never got my Oreo shake. And the bacon was cooked unevenly half raw half burned. It's hit in miss. I've come here and the service is good but I've come a lot more times where the service and food is horrible read more

You really need to stop trying to upsell customers, we are not idiots we know you sell soda if we wanted a soda we'd order 1, don't need to be asked everytime that order a water do you want to try a smoothie. Example last night was near 20-30 soccer kids all of which ordered water and hear the famous would you like soda( every single kid said no). You think that's good customer service it isn't, you're just pissing customers off. You're a restaurant you don't make commission , it really needs to stop you're alienating customers read more

I put one star because it makes you put something in order to post. If it was my decision, it would have zero star ratings. Me & my family have been coming up to Ely literally since I was 9 years old & my dad has been coming since he was 5 years old. I'm 22 years old & my dad is 56 years old. We absolutely love the town & The Hotel Nevada. They use to have a home style restaurant downstairs that made you feel like you were eating at grandmas house. Recently, the owner has put in a Denny's. We came up here to enjoy a weekend & order room service like we always do. We came to the conclusion that they no longer do room service because it's a Denny's, which sucks, BUT we witnessed an employee walking across the street to the jailhouse casino to DELIVER somebody's food but couldn't come to the fifth floor of the same hotel that it's in. Because of the town closing everything so early, Denny's is usually the only option. The food is decent but the proportions truly suck. I always get the Cali club in Vegas & it was a regular size square of bread cut in 4 instead of bigger bread. My dad ordered the carmelized banana pancakes & it was ice cold, so we fed it to our dog. Instead of plastic black bottom clear top, to go containers, they put every single food in cardboard boxes. Have you ever tried eating pancakes & eggs out of a box? We are 100% disappointed at the all around experience of Denny's! We will most certainly continue to stay at the hotel Nevada but we will be sure to go out of our way to eat somewhere else at an earlier time so we do not have to eat at Denny's. read more

Terrible service here, don't bother going. We arrived at the desk, there was a server on the computer obviously getting annoyed about figuring something out. She did not acknowledge us or apologise for any delay in seating us. She left her station. We had to ask another server about being seated, she was rude and said someone would get to us. It wasn't a full restaurant, all of the other servers were ignoring our presence. The original server eventually took us to a table, no apology for the delay. We waited a further 5/10 mins before another rude server approached our table and asked if we'd decided. I asked for a coffee, she said she'd start with my husbands order, at that point we decided to leave. I've never walked out of a restaurant before, it was incredibly bad service. read more

Typical of any Denny's. I would not normally go here but we got a free breakfast after staying at the Hotel Nevada. Was very surprised at the cost and quality of the meal. Same servers from the previous restaurant so they are always good. No complaints about service or food. read more

I'm not even going to give this place a star. Waited an hour. Watched 3 tables come in after us and get there food before us! two were done before I left. Absolutely the worst experience I have ever had. I blame management. Left 1 waitress on the floor by her self. He needs to be fired and replaced with some one competent read more

Waited there for about an hour for my order. As I waited, I observed a "manager" maybe a floor supervisor acting very out of turn and unprofessionally to an older couple a few tables down. The gal wasn't sure what to order so he slapped at the menu telling her to order something, that he was busy and had other things to do. People come to restaurants to come hungry and leave happy. Not come hungry, stay hungry, eat cold food, and be treated like garbage. However, I've heard from past employees, that this is the normal attitude from this gentleman. read more

When we were finally seaTed for breakfast it took our waitress about 15 mins just to acknowledge us and another 10 mins for 2 cups of coffee. The very first thing I noticed about the waitress was that she had her hair hanging in her face at least shoulder length. But from her ears back she had it tied in a ponytail. I personally think that anyone serving food should have their hair tied completely back! She stated that she let her hair grow out so she couldn't tie it back! my hair is shorter than hers and it all goes back in a ponytail when I'm eating. Second issue is that I ordered nine grain wheat pancakes and they should be dark in color. It didn't taste like wheat nine green pancakes. So I went to the manager and addressed the fact that the picture in the menu look like Nine grain wheat pancakes. But what I got on my plate look like white batter pancakes!. Sausage was undercooked and I asked for them to be cooked well done. Mine eggs were cold and I was upset. I went to the manager about the pancakes she said they look like birthday pancakes with cinnamon. I also address the issue that her waitress should have her hair tied completely back and it should not be dangling in front of her face or dangling all over peoples food that she is serving. The manager asked her to put her hair back completely but she said she could not and if they wanted to send her home she was fine with that too. Needless to say I just gave him the whole playback was unhappy I'm not satisfied I settled for a vanilla milkshake they couldn't mess that up. read more

It was the only place we could find and it's Denney's. I know what to expect. Service was poor food was less than average for a Denney's. How do you burn sausage and make it inedible? Quality is not a word that is used in this facility. read more

There is no more iconic restaurant name than Denny's. When you are travelling by car across the US and you see a sign for Denny's, you know what you will get. You get good food. Unfortunately, at this location the service is less than can be desired. There were 3 people at our table including myself and not many other people in the restaurant. I ordered an omelette, my brother ordered a skillet breakfast and my wife ordered a short stack of pancakes with a side of bacon. The waiter, who took our order, delivered the food but could not remember who ordered what. He had to ask each one of us what we ordered. My wife had ordered a side of bacon which is usually 4 slices but she received 2 small pieces. Sad. There is not much else to chose for breakfast when driving through Ely. read more

Came here twice, for dinner and for breakfast the next morning. As the restaurant was connected to the casino, the smoke kept flowing in. The food was good, but they were super understaffed both times, both at night and in the morning, making it hard to get everything you need. The food quality and portions were good. My experience with the staff in the morning was not as good as at night. Our waitress in the morning was not very nice and showed a lack of care. read more

Im from outta state and I've been to many Dennys before and by far this is one of the worst experiences that I've had. Don't get me wrong, I still visit this Dennys because Ely doesn't have much options. Ever since I've are here, almost every single waiter/waitress is horrible. They never get the orders right, and always seem to try to get you to leave so they can either go home or sit around and do nothing. I do not recommend this Dennys to anyone! read more

Hot bread, cold patty on my patty melt! How does that happen? 45 minute wait for order to arrive. Run!

I TRIED to eat here with my family while on a road trip. Our waitress was nice enough, but for some reason couldn't get us our breakfast for over 30 minutes, then when it DID get to our table, it was cold! Everything, in three breakfasts, was either lukewarm or literally cold. The butter wouldn't even melt on the pancakes. We did not eat any of the food. Usually Denny's is good "cheap and cheerful", but this was awful. read more

I know that Denny's is not a foodie destination, but they tend to be a reliable short-order comfort food location. This location was a disappointment. First of all they were out of fries, ice cream for a shake, and the American slam we got was of poor quality. Our waitress was nice and the poor quality food really wasn't her fault. She did fail to bring us a salad. My teen son didn't finish his eggs because they stuck to the plate. Adding to the negative experience we smelled cigarette smoke from the casino. For $54 dollar breakfast for 4 people, it was memorably bad experience. read more

Outstanding to-go order placed over the phone. Food was very tasty, after a quick blast in the home microwave which is to be expected. Staff were polite on the phone and the order was made exactly as requested including ranch on the side. Ready in 15 minutes. I will be ordering over the phone from this Denny's again! P.S. This was my second experience here. The first was an in-person visit to the restaurant inside the Hotel Nevada. My high school waiter was friendly and easy-going. He had to be prompted to refill coffee, bring cream and butter, but was obliging and seemed like he was just learning the ropes in the food service industry. My food was great at this visit as well. read more

I've been to a lot of Denny'ses but never been moved to write a review before. I almost did for the one in Vernal because I got a cool Solo: A Star Wars Story cup and some cards but the food wasn't noteworthy enough to inspire any words. But this one, in the historic Hotel Nevada, served me the best two Denny's meals I've ever had and perhaps the best chain diner food I've ever had t'boot! I had a free breakfast for staying in the hotel: pancakes, bacon, and eggs. I ordered a side of hash browns and sausage and it was no problem. Everything was cooked to perfection and was hot and fresh and just what the doctor ordered. The has browns were totes crips without being burnt, the eggs (scrambled) were perfecto, and the pancakes were divine. The server was very friendly and helpful as well, which seems to be a trend in the wonderful town of Ely. We liked it so much we went back the next day for another free breakfast. Stop by if you're in Ely and want breakfast! Also they serve it any time so you can sleep in or stay up late and still get breakfast. read more
