Ok so it's Ft Bliss right? Expectations are low on a military base but I can assure you this definitely beat the chow hall, so I can say it exceeded expectations. Our waitress Tori was great. Much better than any chow hall cook or cigarette toting Waffle House server. When it comes to my Military culinary decisions I will definitely choose to revisit Denny's on Ft Bliss next time I'm back. read more

We were seated at a dirty table, with a dirty sitting area. It took 10 minutes to get our water and coffee order in. After almost an hour of waiting, we walked out, because it was going to take at least another hour to get out food. 2 servers, 2 bus persons and 2 cooks for a restaurant that is always busy with soldiers and family members. No manager on site, they did not tell people the wait for food is over an hour (there were people who had already been waiting for an hour, and were told the staff did not know how much longer it was going to be). Denny's and AAFES should either hire for more money or just shut down the place. Looking at other reviews, looks like Guest Services from Denny's ONLY responds to 5 star reviews....Nevermind the legit complaints about lack of staff and incompetent management. read more

Waited 5 minutes to be seated. They were not busy. Waited another 7 minutes just to order coffee and iced tea. Waited another 10 minutes to order food. Food came out quickly but never saw the waitress again in 35 minutes. Couldn't get the attention of the waitress until we sat and stared (glared) at her for 8 minutes. The manager was too busy bull**itting with staff!!! He thought I was joking when I told him about not getting any further attention from the waitress. I was not!!! This location may not be accessible to everyone, but for those of us that utilize it we love the hours, we love the service. I needed to mix things up, I needed a jolt of good food and the breakfast was perfect. I ordered pancakes just to start the party, I followed that with some butter and syrup which made my stomach get excited for the show. Soft fluffy pancakes is what I needed as it had been a very long time since I had the golden brown delights. The eggs that I ordered with crisp bacon turned me into a guy floating on a cloud of happiness. I wanted to stay longer and try to eat it all over again, but that would have overfilled me and made me waddle out. No problem with coming back here for me, I know that they will send the best food possible, that is all that I asked for. read more

It's very unfortunate that the following has to be reported. This restaurant is very badly managed, especially for being a restaurant on a Military installation (Ft Bliss). My wife and I woke up early for an early appointment and as soon as we finished with the appointment decided to go to Denny's. There were two waitresses for the entire restaurant and most of the tables were empty yet not cleared of dishes. What appeared as the manager, sat at a corner playing with his cell phone, without regard to the waiting customers etc. Allie was our waitress and she did a great job, even though she was rushing to seat customers, served coffee as prompt as she could, was also the cashier and helped customers waiting to pay etc etc. I commend her for her great and positive attitude given the environment she was working in. The food served was very tasty and was served hot; that says a lot for the cooks in the back. Aside from this, other customers were complaining of their food being served cold etc. The Ft Bliss contracting office should be looking into this along with Denny's corporate personnel to see why this is going on and what it's going to take to immediately improve customer service and if can't be done I'm sure other restaurants would love to 'step up to the plate' and provide their services to the military community. Lastly, I would seriously consider hiring Allie as the manager of this establishment, as she has a very positive attitude, knows what needs to be done to satisfy the customers, has the experience to do all but she can not do it all. On several occasions we saw several groups of 5 soldiers or more, leave because they were not attended by any one. The 'cashier post' should never be unattended and it was on many occasions. read more

I decided to break away from my normal breakfast routine of cold cereal or toast/bagel, banana and coffee, and I had a full breakfast at this location on Ft. Bliss this morning. It was a very good experience overall. I usually go by my personal philosophy that you can't mess up breakfast too much. It was proven to be true here today. There was no one waiting in line when I got here, and I was immediately seated upon entering this diner. It didn't appear to be too busy at 7:10 am. Ruby was a very cheerful server without being too obnoxious and brightened up my otherwise somewhat gloomy early morning. Drink order was promptly taken, and by the time she came back with my glass of water, I was ready to order. It seemed like it really didn't take too much before I got my breakfast. Everything looked very delicious, and my pancakes and scrambled eggs were very hot. Pancakes were also fluffy and filled me up very well. Cheddar scrambled eggs tasted very good and also was very filling. Bacon and sausages were good also. If I need to say anything negative, I'd prefer my bacon to be a little more crisp, but it was a very negligible issue. It was very enjoyable breakfast to start my last work day of the week and sustained me well after my normal lunch time. In fact, I really didn't eat anything substantial for lunch. It reminded me that the most important meal of the day is breakfast. I'll be back for more breakfast for sure. It's open 24 hrs, so you can enjoy breakfast anytime. read more

Note to self: stay away when it looks kinda crowded.... I just waited an hour (whilst sitting, quite literally, in a corner) for food that I didn't even order! I ordered a veggie skillet with tortillas, and I had a cup of coffee. My cup stayed empty for about half an hour before old girl came back to refill it.. and then DING DING DING... someone forgot to put in my order! Instead of verifying what I got she just ran away to put it in.. Next thing I know (30 mins later) I got a skillet alright... but the wrong one and no tortillas. She didn't stick around long enough for me to even say anything. Resting bitch face was full force.. (disclaomer: its valentines day and im already in a bad mood) maybe she was just too scared? Anywho - Ate it anyway. The next time she stopped by was just to drop off the check. Not even a refill on my coffee.. Sure enough, check says Ultimate skillet, not veggie. And I got charged for the tortillas.. I ended up being full (mostly of disappointment). We (as in El Pasoans) must really like Denny's. I mean really, REALLY like Denny's. I personally don't really like it, but I also don't not like it. It's like IHop or Whataburger... it's good 2 AM sobering food. The one time I did go here, I wasn't even in the need for sobering food so my judgement was unaffected by hangryness. I'm not entirely sure why we chose to go to this particular Denny's and I remember it feeling like we were almost going out of our way to go to this. particular. Denny's. Either way, it's where we went. I immediately had to start with their mango smoothie thing that tastes wonderful, but also as though it's just full of artificial flavoring, artificial sweeteners, and other other artificial ingredients that I'm sure a doctor a doctor would to tell me is bad for me (moderation, man). My boyfriend and I were gabbing away while we were looking at the menu so our server had to come back a couple of times. The place did seem a little full, not packed, but he was as attentive as he should be. When ever we finally did decide what to order, he was ready. I went with the Chicken Fried Steak and Charles ordered the Invisible Woman something-or-other (some "special" dish for their Fantastic 4 promotions... although it sounded like something I would've found on the regular menu). My chicken fried steak was okay. No complaints. I did substitute the eggs for yogurt and I'm glad I did. My toast was fine. All around an okay meal... similar to something I could pull out of the freezer section at the grocery store. And this is actually probably why I think Denny's is perfect as sobering food. It's not really a memorable meal, but it fills you up for a reasonable price. read more

Alright. Look, I tried my damndest to be optimistic about this place. Heck, I even tried my damndest to avoid writing this updated review. However, my OCD observation skills will no longer allow me to ignore the glaringly obvious issues with this place. Which, of course, all center around one thing: their pathetic service. I feel as if this place is severely understaffed! I mentioned before how the service here is literally hit or miss. The last few times I've been here, it ranges between a near miss and an epic fail. Take yesterday, for example. It took me 15 minutes to even be acknowledged by a server and even then...it was the greeter, NOT the server who took my beverage order. It's as if this place only has two waitresses working in the entire restaurant and one of them is always on a smoke break. It's ridiculous! I can understand why a majority of people despise this particular Denny's. It makes taking the extra ten minute drive to Airway worth it. The worst part is...I actually genuinely like the breakfast food at Denny's. Unfortunately, the inept service kills it for me. In the future, I see myself either making more trips to Village Inn or ordering Starbucks damn near everyday. The only way I could afford to waste so much time waiting to be served at this Denny's is if I didn't have to go to work that day. read more

My family and I have tried this location many many times and each time is no better than the last. The wait staff is friendly but not very attentive. I could understand if it was crowded but there were maybe 5 tables seated. We went in for the Kids Eat Free promotion and I think there is a reason the food is free, it's just a shame they think it's okay to give it to children. The pancakes were extremely soggy and the scrambled eggs were Luke warm. My husband ordered the moons over my hammy with seasoned fries and it was made well. We never received an explanation as to why our food never came nor did the person who went to check comeback with where our food was. I decided to give this place a second chance, the last time I visited they kept me and my son waiting almost 40 minutes before they asked us if we wanted something to drink. I will concede that it was busy and the manager and waitress were really nice when I finally got a hold of them. This time I got the same waitress (Miriam I believe) and she was very nice and the service was actually quick. The only problem is that they brought me something that looks like it was created by a child learning to cook. It was burnt, drenched in oil, devoid of any flavor and just all around gross. I know that 5 star dining isn't expected at a place like this but this is just sad. Also, for some reason the hostess, Brooke, thought it was a good idea to escort some guy around while he asked strangers if he could sit with them.... I don't even know how to explain that. This place was horrible!!! I put in an order for postmates. The poor driver was waiting there for 52 minutes! He was texting me frantically saying the manager said they hadn't gotten the order, then that they had but it hadn't been made. After I myself called the Denny's and heard the manager yelling at everyone before getting on the phone and aggressively telling me he had the order being packaged to go. Which was a lie because the postmates delivery guy waited another 20 minutes after that. Poor kids face of defeat when he handed me the order broke my heart.
