I love Denny's. I've had positive experiences at multiple Denny's throughout my life, but this Denny's, this specific, putrescent establishment, is the worst dining experience put forth by man. The service there is horrific. We got sat down and waited 30 whole minutes before we received the menus. Food was ok, it's Denny's, of course it's good, but we were practically ignored by them after our meal until my boyfriend was forced to to chase a waitress to get the check and escape the torture. Horrible service, I had to wait around an hour and a half for my food. My food was cold as heck. Chocolate milk tasted as if they used expired milk to make it. The people there are very patient when it comes to your ordering process. They always let me look at the full menu so I can make a good decision, which is something I enjoy; as for their actual cuisine it's not bad it's actually better then most cafe's I've visited because of the lunch menu they offer. I had a very bad experience for breakfast at this Denny. The waitress never brought me water and I didn't realize it until after I left and was very thirsty. She had never heard of soft boiled eggs and my soft boiled eggs experience was awful. One egg was boiled and the other was very runny and neither was peeled or cracked. Both were served on a small bowl and it was difficult dealing with the eggs shells. I had to go look for her to get a refill of coffee after waiting for her a long time. She never brought me any more coffee. I asked for a napkin since I used the one I had on the mess from the soft boiled eggs. She brought me one. To top it off, she was very unfriendly, not rude, just unfriendly. I will not go there again. There are many restaurants in Edinburg that provide much better service and know about soft boiled eggs. read more

I was understanding about that considering Covid and possible staff shortage but my bacon eggs and hash browns were cold! The experience at this Denny's was bad. We had a good waiter but the Denny's service itself was horrible. We entered and there was no one there waiting for the people that came in to seat them. We were seated and waited an hour for our food to get to the table. When we entered we were not informed that they were short staffed and there was no sign anywhere stating this. They did not inform us until 45 minutes after we had ordered our food. We used the restrooms and they were very dirty. The staff at this Denny's knew that the restrooms were dirty because there had been waitresses that were in and out of the restroom and when I went it I even saw one of the waitresses dodge one of the stalls because of how dirty it was. read more

April 24th, 2021. This morning we were sat at our table at 11:40. Eighteen minutes passed and no one had taken my drinks nor the order, so I walked to the kitchen entrance and asked if I could speak to the manager. Then I sat down and our server finally came to our table and said "Can I get your drinks?" but you could tell she already had an attitude. We told her we were ready to place our order and she took it and we asked if we could talk to the manager again. The manager finally came later. And She was not wearing a name tag, but she said her name was Carol. I calmly explained the situation that we had been sitting there for almost 20 minutes and no one had come to see how we were doing. That we understood they were busy, but that that was not good customer service that at least they could serve our drinks first. "Carol, responded by saying, "Okay." We were surprised by her answer and Isaid, still calmly and respectfully "Okay? You represent the business. , These are not the core values nor the philosophy of the company regarding customer service , Lady You have a lot of work to do on your people(team) under your department and specially on yourself.Then I asked her a question " What could you do so something like this won't happen again?" Carol said "What could I do? Do you want me to take care your order myself?" My husband responded, "of corse Not, you are the manager. But I will be writing a review about your customer service. " and she answer back again "Okay". Our food was brought out promptly, but our server just put it on the table and left, we had to flag her down again for salt and pepper and Cholula sauce before we could start eating. Then saw LARRY(another waither), who had been our server in the past, and had provided us exceptional service, so we asked him for some coffee, he readily went to get it and kept our cups filled for the rest of the morning. We went ahead and tipped him in person before he left. I think if the manager is not going to take the time to train her employees on the special, she should be able to know how to change the tickets. We have been going to this Denny's at least once a week for about 25 years. Managers have always been helpful and we see them going around checking and making sure all the patrons are happy and satisfied. We have never seen this "Carol" out on the floor. read more

Usually a good chain restaurant, like McDonald's, you know what to expect. You don't expect to find something not egg and not cheese in your scrambled egg and cheese. Maybe they don't clean the grill. Maybe they don't clean the mixing equipment. Maybe they do it on purpose. This place is so bad, I cannot recommend it to even my enemies. For one, I ordered a sandwich, that comes with a dip. Server brings the sandwich, praying that I don't notice. Looks run-down inside. The Grand Slam is a good deal but some of the other food is overpriced for the quality.

The food is alright at best. My husband ordered the Country Fried Steak and his gravy had a heavy film of gravy like it was left too long and the top was getting cold. Francisco, our waiter, was great but geez Dennys get your act together! Who wants their coffee burnt? The cream was frozen... Thought it was poiled at first but eww. The kitchen staff is a hot mess! I dont think they know what eggs medium well is so they gave me burnt eggs. The french toast was burnt on one side so when they put them on the plate they turn it so you dont see it burnt.
