An average basic breakfast food place known across the country. Tables are not always the cleanest.... waitresses do their job but no connection with customers. Management needs to step up read more

The service was great. My server was on top of her game and super friendly and fast. However, the food. I ordered the sirloin steak and eggs. When asked how I wanted my eggs, I specified that I wanted hard whites and runny yolks. When I received my plate, the hash browns were COLD. Not even warm, cold. And the whites of my eggs basically ran and jumped off my plate. Now if my hashbrowns had just been cold, I'd have dealt with it, but the eggs being undercooked per my request, I couldn't do that. So she takes my eggs and hashbrowns back and within a couple minutes, brings me back new eggs, but I'm not sure the hashbrowns were new, as they shriveled up and overcooked, which leads me to believe that they just put them back on the grill or microwaved them! The location in post falls is much better, in my recent experience. On a good note, my daughter's plate was perfect. read more

My usual breakfast spot was very busy, so I decided to try Dennys, which was close by. I wasn't expecting anything great - after all, it was Dennys - but it was dreadful! A long wait for the food at a time when the place wasn't very busy. The eggs were cold, two tiny scraps of bacon which, if joined together, still wouldn't count as a rasher. The coffee was lukewarm, just like the hash browns. The only good thing was the waitress - she was a star, appeared at one point to be greeting customers, taking orders, bringing out the food, delivering the bill, and bussing tables. There was another waiter, but he seemed to disappear for most of the time I was there. The "Manager" appeared to be in a heated discussion with someone business-related outside the restaurant, in the parking area. He offered no help inside as the place got much busier, and should probably be fired! As I was leaving a large group arrived, was seated, and orders were being taken by, you guessed it, the same gal who seemed to be doing everything! Maybe they should make her the Manager! Though on the showing on Wednesday morning, the place may not be open for much longer! read more

I was very happy after coming here after,a couple years absence. When I left last time I didn't think I would ever be back. The food and service were great this time read more

The crepe with strawberries and hash browns, eggs and sausage was done well. Like the crunch on the hash browns The country fried was good, only thing is, you can't order mashed potatoes before 11a, we were there at 10.30a The coffees were great, very seldom you get a good decent cup of coffee in a diner. Our experience this time did not disappoint. Service was fast too Busy restaurant but we were taken care off pretty quickly. Ambiance is clean and pleasant read more

F@#k me! Just had lunch here for the first time in years and I can't believe how BAD the food is now. The hamburger is not all beef, god only knows what is actually in it. Don't do it, you will regret it. The service was good but the food was so bad that I could not leave a tip. read more

The server we had was visibly on something and couldn't stop sniffing. At one point she started crying while talking to another customer about possibly losing her job over customer complaints. The food was less than desirable, I couldn't finish mine. Between the server we had and the others that worked there dipping into the kitchen every 5 mins and coming out with the sniffles and dialated pupils, was an experience not worth giving them a second chance. read more

DoorDash this morning, we tried the Lumberjack Slams this morning. It was very good and we are stuffed! Just a heads up, my wife found something in her seasoned red-skinned potatoes (which were delicious). It looked like a tiny blue or turquoise rock, plastic or mineral not sure. About a quarter of the size of something you would find in the bottom of a fish tank. Was going to take a picture of it, but accidentally dropped it and can't find it in the carpet now. Just a little warning to keep your eyes peeled (pun intended). read more

Many tasty items for any time I love the Ultimate Omelette with hash browns and coffee for breakfast

Denny's is always hot, fresh, delicious food for definitely the best price in our area, and best price for breakfast food overall. They've never disappointed whether in restaurant or thru delivery. My favs are the grand slam pancake options and their hash browns! Greasy deliciousness haha~ read more

I've not been in a Denny's for a decade and was very impressed with the breakfast served to us at this Restaurant. I ordered Philly cheesesteak omelet expecting ordinary but it was packed with chunks of tender steal, mushrooms, green peppers and loaded with Swiss cheese. Hubby ordered TBone and eggs and usually picks at his food- this is what he left. Staff happy to be there to serve you. Well done! read more

So, the service was fair to poor. Took a long time to give order. Food was great. It arrived soon. When asked for more butter, there was attitude. Waited for water refill. Desert was excellent. Food was 5 star, service was meh. So it got a 3 star. Journey was server. I normaly spend about $16, and tip $4. I usually alwys tip $4 even if meal costs only $10. This time I tipped only $1.00. TIP means "To Insure Promptness". And it sure wasn't prompt. read more

Super bummed; we used to always get sirloin steak & late-night chicken salads during many weeknights- until they stopped cooking the chicken all the way and our well-done steaks were ALWAYS bleeding! Once we got that under control, they continously sent ranch dressing despite that NEVER being the dressing ordered. We stopped our salad addiction for a few months because of the continous error in our orders. So, after 3 months of "time-out" we decided to try Denny's again (we appreciate the late hours of operation- otherwise we started going to Texas Roadhouse because they have a great system and an attention to details). Unfortunately, Dennys once again sent a big container of RANCH DRESSING for our salads, despite my polite repeating what kind we wanted 3 different times. The server was very polite and kind, so we hoped for the best. I think we are cured of any lake night cravings from Dennys since we never get what we wanted anyway. Additionally, I'm in a wheel chair currently and have to have a friend run to pick it up for me (since Dennys delivery goes thru for door dash, which took over 2 and 1/2 hours on 2 separate occasions and on the 3rd occasion, the dasher literally stole our food!!! They never showed up!! Door Dash blamed Dennys verbatim we didn't go thru the Door Dash app and Dennys blamed Door Dash because that's who they use to do their deliveries. Meanwhile-- I'm the one out. I don't know- if you're going to dine-in, maybe try them. Otherwise, I'd recommend Texas Roadhouse, not far from them. read more

One star is too high! My kids and I have been celebrating birthdays with breakfast at Denny's in Coeur d' Alene, Idaho since 1988, it's become a family tradition, until today! We arrived about 9am this morning and were promptly seated by a somewhat less than friendly server, however, she did return in a short period of time to take our order for 2 Build Your Own Slam breakfasts and to bring beverages, but our meals took a long time, more than 30 minutes. When our food arrived, it was over cooked and boarderline cold; the eggs were dry and rubbery - the hashbrowns were hard, not crisp - my son's pancakes were dark and crisp, like toast, on the outside - his sausage links looked ok but my bacon pieces were burned on the tips and resembled one piece of bacon that had been cut in half to make two. About 20 minutes later, our server checked back with us and bring the bill, at that time, I expressed my dissapointment with the quality of the food, which, she did offer to replace with another order but I informed her that my son being hungry, had done his best to eat about half his meal and that I was not inclined to wait for another breakfast to be made. Our server told me that she would talk to her general manager about the situation and pointed her out, sitting on a stool at the counter. I incorrectly assumed that the manager would come to the table and offer a solution or at least an apology for the inconveniance, this did not happen, our server came back about 10 minutes later to clear our plates from the table and to inform me that she did not know what her manager would do but the she would take care us at the check-out. The manager did meet us at the register, she took my ticket and proceeded to ask me for $26.38 without acknoweldging the situation, she did not offer a discount, a future meal voucher, explanation, nor apology. At that point I restated the issue with our food, for which she would not respond. She processed my payment without even a thank you. Needless to say I did inform her that I would never step foot in any Denny's ever again. I have worked in the customer service industry for 40+ years, I have been a General Manager, Hiring Manager and Trainer. I know what good customer service is and that your team is a reflection of your management style. In all my years, I have never received such blatant disregard for customers who ultimately pay your wages. This location needs a new manager and customer service training for the team. I have two regrets and one positive take away... 1) Going to Denny's 2) I did not think to take pictures of the food 3) Never eat at Denny's again! read more

horrible experience was offered mashed potatoes instead of biscuits and gravy would never recommend

For Yelp review 800, I'll write about a special place. This Denny's in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho is very special. You see, this Denny's made national news in 2005 where the abducted little girl named Shasta was rescued and her abductor Joseph Duncan was arrested. After the girl was spotted in this Denny's, some customers and the manager called 911. The Denny's employees and customers calmly kept Duncan from leaving until the police arrived. The Denny's employees and customers who acted with their hearts and did the right thing without question, to end this horrific ordeal and save this child, are the REAL HEROES. Bless them. Okay onto the review! After we spent the night at a nearby motel, we stopped for breakfast at this Denny's in Coeur d'Alene, which is open 24 hours. We were seated at a booth and offered fresh hot coffee immediately. My friend had the All American Slam which had three eggs with cheese, bacon, sausage links, hash browns, & toast. I was very hungry and went for the Lumberjack Slam, which had 2 pancakes, ham, bacon, sausage, eggs (I chose Egg Beaters), hash browns, and wheat toast. The portions of food were HUGE, very tasty, and very filling! I love those fluffy pancakes with the scoop of butter and lots of syrup! This is by far the best Denny's I've been to in the country. The food was very tasty plus the service was super friendly and attentive and the hot coffee kept pouring into our cups from the time we sat down until I said no more after 4 big cups. The other Denny's I've been to back in the Northeast are just okay to me. Well, after breakfast, we hit the road and we must've stopped around six times for restroom breaks. We had too much food and coffee and we were very wired and buzzing! We were so full that we skipped lunch. Breakfast is definitely the most important meal of the day! read more

Denny's - Classic Denny's sign - Diners Near Me - Coeur D' Alene, Idaho

This is usually a reliable and friendly place to eat. However, the attitude has changed drastically and I wonder if they will soon be gone (as are many of the Denny's locations). I ordered a salmon dinner which is adequate considering it IS a Denny's, but I noticed that there was a $4.00 difference between the regular serving and the senior serving. I asked if the more expensive salmon was a larger portion, so she reluctantly asked the manager who said the portion was exactly the same for each one...a 6 ounce slice. Being a senior citizen and since the portions were equal, I ordered the senior plate. I finally received the salmon, which was overcooked and appeared WAY smaller than 6 ounces. Once the check was left on the table, we were charged the higher price. We protested but was told that since I pointed to the "regular" salmon picture in the menu, that would be the charge. She quickly took our credit card and when we protested, she said she could not credit us the difference. What? The regular manager was not there as he knows us and has always been friendly. We are regular customers but it was apparent that all the staff was new and, frankly, quite hostile. The server, Megan R, was particularly rude and arrogant. Now we're hoping they either change their attitude or go ahead and close this location. Needless to say, we won't be returning. read more

Server Shelley M. 8/16/24 - Order #340807 - 55+ Scr egg/ch. - mine had more cheese than egg, husbands missing bacon both were COLD. We arrived around 9:45 am. Shelly had no idea what she was doing.. After about 25 min or so I asked for cream and napkins, (stood up and had to find her) Shelley said "you haven't got your food yet" like she was surprised. Isn't she the one that served us? Wow.. She had to of let the food sit there, due to it being cold. When she finally got the food to us, only one pancake because she said the manager didn't like the way the other one looked. Had to serve my own coffee twice. Asked for to go cups, which we received. I ASKED Shelly to just fill them, so I wouldn't have to keep serving myself. She said she'd fill them when we were ready to leave, I told her no, because we'd never see her again. She promised she'd be back, never saw her again. I once again served my to go cup myself. Took my pancakes to cashier for a to go box and the bill. Cashier acted like this always happens. Wow! And I don't even want to talk about the cleanleness of the place. Had to wipe the silverware off, the rim of coffee cup made my napkin brown, I wouldn't even drink out of the water glass. The floor was so greasy I can't believe no one has slipped and fell. Wow, awful experience. The other older gal was fast and efficient. We watched her side of the restaurant as people after us came and left. Wow, awful management! read more

Waited 45 mins for a To-go order, after already being told my order was getting ready. JUST TO BE TOLD BY AMANDA "we never got your ticket" "it'll be like 40 mins for your food to be ready" who in there right mind is gonna wait another 40 mins!? Also who tells customers their food is being prepared when they never were doing it in the first place!!! And your only solution is "we'll make it now, it'll just take 40 mins". Amanda how about you stop covering regulars bills and pay attention to the line in the waiting area. This is a petty review I know but when I'm told to go pick up my food at noon and I get told it's almost ready just to be told 45 mins later that my food was never being made? And the only solution you have is that I have to wait even longer I'm sorry but that's garbage, just like Amanda's customers service read more

I had horrible service I ordered online and we decided to eat inside . Instead of to go . The waitress was rude and refused to ask if we could get it on plates they said no they would bring them in the Togo order to the table I spoke with the manager and he seemed to not be to concerned at all. Denny's used to be a 4am spot for a good meal. Covid appears to have killed Denny's. We ordered Denny's staples, the "Moons Over My Hammy" and the "Grand Slam Sandwich". Basically I wouldn't feed the slop we received to my dog. We called and complained staff was very nice and seemingly accommodating. The waitress who took our order informed us would receive a phone call from the manager that afternoon, unsurprisingly, the call never happened. I suppose all good things must come to an end. Well... hope all the Denny's restaurants are not serving stuff like we just received!!??!! The chicken fried steak w/Caeser salad... the build your own burger... the senior omelette... ALL THREE MEALS we ordered... WERE THE WORST FOOD WE HAVE HAD IN A LONG TIME! Wow! Driest burger ever... served on a rock hard 7 grain bun... meat was split in half with an inch gap in that bun.... looks like they wanted to impress me with a large looking burger patty... it didn't impress me at all... they did replaced the bun! Oh goodie! It tasted terrible. The steak... my oh my... the worst in the northwest! Served nice and cold! The salad was not close to a caeser... had cucumbers... some type of strange dressing. The omelette was pure grease... dripping in it. The potatoes... more grease and close to burnt. No RETRIES for this Denny's! THREE STRIKES THEY'RE OUT FOR GOOD! If your looking for healthy food... Or, food that tastes good... THIS IS NOT THE PLACE! This place makes McDonalds look like a gourmet restaurant. read more

Came in and had our our order taken in a timely fashion for how busy it was at midnight. We were not told we were behind a large take-out order, that being said we still did not receive our food for an hour and watched a table sit down after our order was taken and received their food first. Asked for a manager who came out offering a bunch of different excuses and did not care to even listen to our problem. Came back shortly thereafter with a 50% reduced tab. Even though our problem had been been offered a resolution the quality, speed and professionalism from this place was far below mediocre.
