Service was pretty good. There was one waitress and she was busting her back! Food was good! read more

Denny's - a half eaten breakfast on a plate - Breakfast & Brunch Near Me - Carlsbad, New Mexico

Over cooked hash browns. The staff is totally clueless. (They put ranch dressing on my cheeseburger) The whole restaurant smells horrible. The bathroom is extremely gross. There is a smell of raw sewage. I saw the guy mop the restrooms then mop the food area with the same mop and bucket. Don't go here. It's pretty bad. read more

To bad you can't do zero stars that's what this place deserves worst experience in a many years if not ever. 1. Over 15 minutes just to get menus and drink orders 2.@35 minutes some of the drink's were missing Order taken 3. Right at an hour later food delivered cold ,not warm at all out of 6 meals one missing, 3 sent out with seasoned fries not regular fries. Grand slam Jr.messed up was suppose to be 1 bacon 1 sausage pancakes was toast 1 sausage hash browns Had to wait on a burger that was missing about another 30 minutes 4. Asked if kid's drink came with the meal told yes charge 3.85 each for the kids size drinks 5.I asked about why manager said they were swapped I guess if standing around BSing is busy they were 6. Manager refused to try and make things right read more

I had hoped service would improve when this place reopened. It has not. Long wait times, nobody acknowledging customers standing in the waiting area - actually staff ignoring customers. I finally get a meal and it's cold eggs, cold sausage, cold bacon and stale toast all on a cold plate. The eggs looked hours old - the cheese on the eggs was actually hardened. read more

If you want to eat anytime soon don't go here ‼ No hostess has been hired & manager is too busy to be bothered with customers.... Watched 15 customers (different parties) leave because of long wait & not even being acknowledged for even being there. We make # 18 leaving ‼ I spoke with manager to let him know about the # of customers leaving as well as our party, his response was "see you again soon " Really, I mean REALLY... the dumbest thing a manager could of said. read more

Absolutely terrible service. We walked in and stood for at least 5 minutes, as there was no one up front to greet or seat us. Another girl, I think a waitress had to yell at the person that was supposed to be up front. She finally decided to make her way up front. Then were told to go and sit at a "clean booth", and "i'll be over to give you your menu's in a minute. We walked by multiple dirty tables/booths which is just completely unsanitary and gross. It looked like they had been dirty for a while, but the staff didn't seem to care. The waitress took our drink order, and gave me the wrong drink. I asked for sweet tea, and was brought unsweetened tea. I thought that I was pretty clear when speaking as to what I wanted for my beverage. Then we proceeded to wait at least 20 minutes or more for our food, and there was like 3 or 4 other diners in the establishment. So there was no excuse as to why our food took that long. While waiting for our food, the waitress walked around on the phone on speaker phone/face time talking to whoever. Then proceeded to air her dirty laundry into the kitchen to the so called "manager" across under the heat lamps where I watched food sit for at least 15 minutes. When we received our food, my omelet was luke warm, all the toppings/fillings were ice cold, and the hash browns were basically raw/under-cooked. Other party members pancakes were missing their bananas, and the other had the wrong pancakes all together. The order was not complicated, and I believe a 5th grader could have had more intelligence to do something right. I was afraid to say anything as you could pretty much tell no one their gave a damn about the quality of service and/or food being sent out of the kitchen. They would have probably just spit in our food. Additionally, the other kitchen staff walked away outside to smoke or something and left one person in the kitchen being the "manager". The waitress wasn't even present to remove dishes from the table, probably too busy again on her damn phone to worry about customer service. Had to flag down the so called "manager" that didn't seem to know how to do anything, saying "I dunno" multiple times while we were there. I think his name was Derek? Don't really care to remember. We definitely won't be back, and I recommend anyone else planning to visit this location, JUST DON'T. You'll regret it! I can't believe the level disservice, and poor customer service. As well as just the pure un-professionalism displayed by the staff. It was just awful.... read more

Worst service ever, took over an hour to get our order and forgot to get all entrees lady came back and asked us what we ordered twice. Pancakes were cold other entrees were missing sides. Super bad idea to go there. Don't go to Dennis in Carlsbad. read more

Michael was our server and he did great awesome customer service food was ok but really need those veggies to look like veggies not burned coals pancakes also over cooked read more

Theres nothing good I can say about eating here. we had to wait one whole hour just to receive our starter then another 20 minutes just to get our food and both were really cold which just made it disgusting. and the hash browns were burnt and even more they forgot to bring us a whole plate which was pancakes and the Toast. read more

Probably the worst experience at a Denny's I have ever had, waited 15-20 minutes when there are visible tables to sit out. Tons of dirty tables all around, we finally got seated, and ordered and the waitress never came back to refill drinks. I had to get up and ask her for drinks, when paying up front as the transaction is being processed the waitress who was ringing me up walked off after I inserted my card and said grab the receipt yourself. I'm not one to leave reviews but man whoever owns that establishment could really use a better management crew. Absolutely terrible. read more

Still a good place to eat, I was sat a table with in a couple minutes, I had attentive server and the best steak I ever had from a Dennys. The new management has done a great job trying to clean it up. Will be back. Thanks again. read more

Sign advertises it is open 24 hours, it is not. Hours are very hit and miss. Ate there yesterday morning and waited over an hour for our food to come out. The restaurant was not busy, had maybe 4 other tables with guests. Quality of the food was substandard. Bacon was well over cooked, scrambled eggs were runny. I don't have high expectations for Denny's however I do expect a little quicker service than what was provided and edible food. You would be better off getting a gas station burrito or McDonalds. read more

We haven't been to Dennys in awhile . I know they had been closed for awhile and honestly wasn't that great when they were opened . Today we went for breakfast and boy what a positive change! They were super busy , which was a good sign that something had improved. The guy at the front was very friendly and welcoming. We had a great waitress . She was super busy , but still checked on us . The food was great . We all were stuffed. Hope Dennys stays this way. read more

The service was bad people were just sitting around doing nothing there was no AC the food took long to get and it was cold the bath room smelt like sewage I don't recommend going to this place read more

Brandy was a good server food was what you expect from Denny's and the ambiance was peaceful

This place is absolutely terrible. Go anywhere in town but this place. Took over an hour for our food to come out, well most of it my order was forgotten and my sons was totally messed up. Had to get up and go find our own silverware, once our waitress was replaced by another our server was amazing so no discredit to her. We tried to talk to the manager about it but she apparently has a very bad attitude and should be replaced if they ever plan to turn this place around. Oh did I mention my sons food was rotten when he finally got it. And they refused to credit us for it. Absolutely terrible. read more

I went after our theatres variety show. Roberto was our waiter and he was the sweetest thing. He gave us suggestions on what to and what not to order. What would take a while to make. He put up with our late night hysteria and was really funny. He regularly checked up on us and was fast with our food. Was very sweet when he said there wasn't any of what we originally wanted available and gave us an alternative that was better. Engaged in conversations with us, and was all around the best waiter ever. I hope I can have him again next time I go there read more

This place is very hit or miss. We have been there a few times, and at times it was fantastic. Great food, clean, great service. However, more often than not it is quite the opposite. Trash and food on the floors, extremely slow service, incomplete orders, etc. Not sure we'll be back any time soon after our last experience there. Sad, as Denny's can be a great place. First off, clean the place. Replace the carpet, clean the restrooms, and get visible dust/lint out of the kitchen area. Second, make sure your staff does their job. Get orders right, the first time. Drink refills should be done often, and the wait time before and after you order should be minimized greatly. read more

Amazing service great cooks. Greater was amazing. Coffee was fresh and hot. My server was so kind. And never let my drinks get empty

Takes a while for anyone to acknowledge you for seating or for checking out. I think it's the management. We've eaten at this location twice, the food has been good both times. Both times our server was Stephanie. She is a super waitress but also takes on a lot of other people's jobs, because they can't seem to keep enough staff. I have been very impressed with her work ethic, attitude and all that she does for this establishment. If you're not in a rush to be seated or to pay your bill, this is the place for you. read more

Don't come here if you ever want any service! I came in on a Friday night and sat at the bar it took them 15 minutes to offer to take my order or bring me a drink. Took another 30+ minutes just to get my food! Worst service ever! I would never recommend anyone to come here, worst of the worst Denny's around. If you are thinking about coming to this Denny's... just turn around and don't. read more

I went to eat for breakfast this morning the server wasn't to great took her 15 to bring me a yogurt for my baby so he can eat..... I order a original grand sla. And instead of showing the piece of egg to manager she just told me they will make me new cakes... I already had cakes!!!!!! read more

Worst place in Carlsbad to go and that's saying a lot!!! I've been disappointed over and over again hoping this place would get better! First couple times the food was awful and took forever to get to us. Then today no one would even greet us or seat anyone so we left. There is multiple tables open but multiple people waiting 45 or more minutes to be seated. New management must either suck or it's just a trick to get you to try them again. Get someone in there that actually has some work ethic and cares! I didn't even want to give this place 1 star! Let's do a big fat 0!! read more

Don't usually leave negative reviews because I don't want to spread bad energy, but this was actually the worst meal I've ever had in a restaurant in my adult life. I ordered a make-your-own omelet but instead of cooking the ingredients into the omelet, it was just a cold egg patty folded in half over spinach, tomato, and an unmelted slice of cheese. The fruit on the side was aged and inedible. Would give negative stars if possible -- should maybe call the health department -- but at the very least, stay far, far away. read more

I just finished lunch here. It was good, it was what I expected, it was satiating. I read the reviews and wondered how bad could it be after I ordered. It took about 10 minutes for our food to come. We usually order the same stuff at any Denny's, so we know what the standard should be like. Our waitress Rikki was pleasant and attentive. She took our drink order right away when she sat us, and promptly brought the beverages. Sprite and coke, both properly fizzy with the right about of syrup. The restaurant was clean but not spotless (children dropping food is probably beyond control of the staff). Anyway take a deep breath and expect this to be a normal Denny's experience, it's not a Michelin Star restaurant after all. It's good food prepared by real people... and everyone can have a bad day now and then. read more

Denny's - Breakfast & Brunch Near Me - Carlsbad, New Mexico

I ordered the original grand slam, and my husband ordered a cheeseburger. The short order cook is either new or just that bad. It wasn't that busy when we got there, however, after waiting 1-hour for our food, we had had enough. The manager did charge off the food because of our wait. The food was burnt and we did not finish the meal. read more

Probably some of the worst customer service I've ever encountered. There were upwards of 8 people waiting to be seated for at least 15 minutes, there was no hostess and no explanation for the wait. There were at least 10 open tables in my line of sight, all dirty. Finally, someone came and said it would be awhile before anyone was seated, very rudely might i add. Finally got seated. Our waitress was very sweet, but we were without coffee and water by the time our food came out and never got a refill. Decided to go back the next day because there weren't many breakfast options, we walk in and she tells us, "Oh. We're closed." It's 11:30 am on a Wednesday. Safe to say I'll never visit another Denny's! You'd be better off at McDonald's! read more

Breakfast was good and the staff was super friendly. We had to wait for our food for a little longer than normal but it was very tasty.

Oh my wow... I saw the reviews before and figured "it's Dennys, how bad could it be?" Well... they sure delivered in the dissapointment category. We waited 51 minutes to be seated... They put the wrong cheese on my burger, took it back and put on a cold piece of the correct cheese... They forgot to put the sauce on my burger, took it back a second time and put a bunch of cold sauce on it (making a mess)... The burger was lukewarm at best... There was easily visible amounts of dirt on my grapes, not washed at all... My water glass was empty for at least 15 mins... No paper towels in the very dirty bathroom... And to top it off we were surrounded by 3 dirty tables the entire time we were there... Thankfully they discounted my meal... read more

This was my worst experience with any Denny's restaurant. We waited about 15 minutes for our server to come ask us for drinks. She came back and rudely placed them down, spilling my coffee. She didn't say anything about it and never wiped it up. We asked for lemons several times before she brought them back annoyed as if we were an inconvenience to her. We waited for our meals for an hour, and they only brought out 3/4 meals, and got one of those wrong. The server was clearly upset that we informed her that she got one of the meals wrong and she even asked "well do you just want to have this one instead.." so she wouldn't have to redo the order. So she took the meal back. In summary, the fourth meal and the meal we sent back never came, and neither did our server. After 20 more minutes, we just left. I would like to have imagined that this was an isolated incident with this one server, but the people sitting next to us were in the same boat and hadn't received any meals having arrived only a few minutes after us. One of my worst experiences in recent memory, and I would have given a zero star if at a possible. read more

Absolutely horrible service. "Hostess" took about 10 minutes to acknowledge us after I left her know we had a party of 4. Shortly after, a Caucasian family of 4 walked right in and she sat them in a booth. Management definitely needs to train these people on service. Would give this place zero stars if I could. read more

Decided to give good ol Denny's a shot. It is Saturday morning breakfast rush. Ok, now seeing that Saturday is busy to begin with it would stand to reason that they would have their A game going. Nope- we were seated, and then after about 15 min our order was taken- 30 min later no food.... The table next to us got theirs and it looked cold... Wow, I guess the rating was spot on for this location. Sad sad sad.....Saturday and Sunday = get it together!!! read more

Food was cooked perfectly but arrived totally cold because it sat on the counter waiting to be brought to the table for ever. Sucked.. Nothing came together. Toast took 30 min. Not worth the trouble of walking through the door. Half equipment broken down.

Absolutely worst service if you even got any. They sat us and no one came to get our drink order. We waited 15 minutes only to hear a waitress tell us, "Give me a couple minutes." Which is understandable if you were busy, but standing around chatting with your coworkers doesn't constitute as "busy." The place over all is disgusting!!
