So I'm updating my review. Saturday, a few hours after I wrote my review, the General Manager Oscar…read moredid reach out to me personally. As it shouldn't have gotten to this point I am very happy to say that I was able to get my aunt's full refund without any issues. Supposedly Gabriela was reprimanded but still does work there. I still stand on not dealing with this woman in finance. Thank you again to Oscar for taking control of this matter. He had a check ready for us to pick up Today. 3 days later. This could have been all avoided and hope this does not happen to someone else.

I went for brakes for my truck and a general check due to 100k miles…read more I was told there'd be a minimum $500 for the inspection of the vehicle. Totally fair and understandable. I was given a quote for a number of things needed to be updated. As anyone would, I took the quote and shopped around. I was able to find pricing for the brakes much cheaper elsewhere which is have Chevy knowledge of, they said they couldn't match. So I opted to have my cooler line to the engine done through this dealership only because I knew I was $500 in the whole for the vehicle inspection. The initial quote stated $1200. I was then presented with a $1750 bill, to which I asked, why is there such a variance? Chevy told me that because they inspected the brakes (even though they did whole vehicle inspection which we agreed upon) that the $500 for that was being added on. After a bit of back and forth, they took $250 to bring the total to $1500 for a cooler line but they very clearly up charged me for the loss of business on the brakes. I honestly wish I just took all the work to the other shop because there were some even more shady things I found. TO MAKE THINGS WORSE They told me my oil was changed, reset my mileage for my oil, only for the other shop to do a full body inspection and see the oil and filter was never actually changed. If I took this dealerships word; I would've went another 7k miles without changing my oil likely leading to more issues they'd want me to come back to have fixed. Or; this was there was to really say F U to me for taking my business elsewhere. Just absolutely despicable behavior, and people wonder why it's hard to trust mechanics. If you need a trustworthy place to go, I HIGHLY suggest Gabe's in Beacon Falls. They were ~$300 cheaper per part to be replaced and I was able to leave feeling good with pictures and explanations for why things needed to be done. Chevy in Milford is a bunch of scam artists, I'll never go back.

Issue one was leaking oil from spark plug hole, fixed under warranty and no-charge loaner car. Second issue recently was finding a bad battery during oil change, replaced with new one. Under warranty. Sales guys and Finance guys, same as any other dealership, though better than Toyota, etc. These guys own Honda Westport, have owned Hondas for 20 (3 diff cars) years from them, never an issue when it came to service. Knew a friend that tapped into their lifetime warranty. 10 year old Outback needed new tranny, repaired no questions asked...

In case you're considering a Subaru, or specifically a Dan Perkins Subaru, here's our experience…read more We leased (and later bought out of our lease) our 2019 Ascent back in 2018, and the initial process was great. But over time, the recalls piled up, and in early 2024 the car spent nearly two months in the shop. Thankfully, the seven-year warranty covered it. Fast forward to a few weeks ago: my dashboard lit up like a Christmas tree (no offense to Christmas trees, because I love them). After regular maintenance at Midas (shoutout to my guys at the one on Post Road in Fairfield) and new tires + TPMS sensors from Town Fair Tire (shoutout to the crew at the TFT on Kings Highway), I brought it to Dan Perkins for diagnostics. Less than an hour after dropping it off **before even receiving diagnostic results and recommended service** I got a text about trading the car in. That didn't sit right. When I mentioned getting a second opinion from our family's longtime mechanic, they dismissed it and implied I'd been ripped off. I hadn't. I'd also already researched the issue myself -- it's tied to a known Subaru bulletin affecting 2019-2022 Ascents, and it's not uncommon or due to poor maintenance. Then came the trade-in conversation. KBB estimated the value between $10,700-$12,600 (and I accounted for everything, including prior damage, scratches, etc). Dan Perkins offered $6,000. That was the final straw. I'll say this: they were polite, and I appreciated the ride home. But the actions didn't match the words. Now I'm here with a car under 95K miles that's giving me issues... next to our old Volvo wagon still going strong at 167K (Old Riverboat!). It's unfortunate because we've loved having this Ascent. For context: I do my homework. I'm not easily swayed when it comes to cars. Maybe we got a lemon, maybe they don't build them as well as they used to... but the way this was handled is what really sealed it for me. UPDATE: I took it to another dealer, and all it needed was a computer system reset... the engine was fine and the flushing of the engine actually was a GOOD thing. Way to go, DAN PERKINS. Won't be going back there ever. Buyer beware. Full review: https://maps.app.goo.gl/PtiJXAktERDLCvkk6

I was also warned that I would likely need to jump through many hoops and wait a very long time during the claims process with KIA. Naturally, I further panicked. Well it's true what they say: don't stress things that may never come to pass... My car was towed to KIA and I was introduced to Marissa. Immediately helpful and friendly, she explained a process devoid of hoops! The NEXT DAY, Marissa called to say my claim was already approved and the engine ordered. I had a glorious weekend driving a fancy rental (we'll get back to that) and by Wednesday, a mere EIGHT days later, Marissa called to say my car was ready for pick up. Picking up my vehicle was so simple and quick. Two signatures and they drove it around for me. I mentioned my key fob was dead and Marissa came to rescue again. She took my key for all of five seconds and changed the battery. $10 out the door!! Back to the rental, Marissa also gave me a website to submit that bill to get reimbursed up to $45 a day!!!!
