As a patient of Dr. Kilpatrick's, I am pleased with the results of my surgery. Everything worked like clockwork and the surgery schedule was on time. The one thing I would find as a negative is the very long waiting time to be seen in the office. Whether it is a routine exam or a follow up, the wait has always been at a minimum 30 minutes. Once you are called back, there are multiple rooms you go in and out of (even with a routine exam) until you see the doctor. A whole lot of hurry up and wait. I find that disrespectful to the patient. I'd wait a day or two for an appointment to be seen on time instead of doing 10/20 minute appts that you know will always run over. My time is more valuable than that - but Im sure most doctors offices are this way now. read more

n 10/17, I had eye surgery with Dr. Kilpatrick. During the intake process the day of surgery, I was advised that an "observer" was in the clinic that day to observe surgeries and asked for my consent. I said "no"and this was confirmed verbally by the employee and documented in three inch, block letters, on the intake medical form. During the surgery, I heard the doctor casually chatting with someone standing next to me. I asked him who else was in the room and he said "don't worry-everything is OK". At the follow-up appointment the next day, the doctor first checked both eyes; he had to be reminded by his assistant in the room that he only operated on one eye. I then asked, again, who was present during my surgery, as I had not consented to an "observer", as documented in their medical forms. Dr Kilpatrick was defiant, disrespectful and willfully dishonest, first by stating he was "unaware of the intake process because those aren't his records, and in fact, it was actually my responsibility to tell him directly". When I didn't accept this blatant excuse, the doctor double-downed by stating " that this person was actually in the room for my medical benefit as he was part of his medical team". I then asked him if he was a doctor employed the clinic, and, of course, the answer was "no". Still waiting for an honest answer and clarity, I asked, again, why a non-medical, non-employee was in the surgery room, against my documented non-consent. Dr Kilpatrick then conceded "someone was in the room but that he didn't look". The doctor then asked me "why I didn't raise this issue with him earlier," not recalling he had done the surgery literally the previous day. He then said he "was dumfounded that I cared because no-one else does". Dr Kilpatrick concluded the discussion by saying "now Im laughing at you - go ahead and file a HIPPA complaint, you won't win". His behavior was unethical and incredibly arrogant. As I walked out of the room, he also said " I suppose you got all that on tape". Four weeks later, I received a self-serving letter from Dr. Kilpatrick; it was clear this letter was written to continue to cover-up his unethical and dishonest behavior. During the follow-up appointment the next day, he said he couldn't recall the discussion he had with the observer. Four weeks later, his memory miraculously recovered and he was now able to recall the entire medical discussion, in great detail. I was there; they did not have a medical discussion. However, what is more disturbing is Dr Kiklpatrick's most egregious lie stated on the clinic's letterhead. He enclosed a form that I signed during the intake process stating my consent. What he didn't include was the form that I signed next, which OVER-RODE that previous consent. Conveniently, according to Dr. Kilpatrick, "that form is now missing and, in fact, may not exist at all". He suggested "I prove it" by providing him a copy of the clinic's medical intake form. Time to depose three people; the two employees ; the one that did the intake and his assistant who was in the room on the 18th, as well as the "observer". Let's see if three professionals will lie, under oath, to corroborate Dr. Kilpatrick's lies. Dr. Kilpatrick 's behavior falls far below the AMA Code of Medical Ethics, which embodies ethical behavior, integrity and honesty. read more

I have gone to Dr. Kilpatrick for years. He takes the time to explain what he is doing and why, as well as the results. Always has time to answer my questions. The office is very nice and clean. The staff is very knowledgeable. They care about their patients and take the time to make me feel like they know my history and any plans for future treatment. I highly recommend Dr. Kilpatrick! I had cataract surgery on both of my eyes by Dr. Kilpatrick. Having severe issues with stigmatism I was concerned. I consulted with other Ophthalmologist in the area , however , I felt most comfortable with Dr. Kilpatrick as he was patient , caring , communicative and I have excellent results ...which are life changing for me. I had a serious cataract as the result of detached retina. Dr. Kilpatrick and his office associates performed surgery and resolved the problem. The surgery center was great with good and compassionate staff. Dr. Kilpatrick uses a formula eye drops to avoid multiple different drops multiple times a day. Makes the process so much easier Post op. A good office atmosphere with excellent office staff from front desk to medical staff to financial staff.
