However, no one asked what vision insurance I had. When I arrived, they asked for my medical insurance cards but never asked for my vision insurance. I was also asked whether I was having any medical eye problems, and I said no. I was there for a routine eye exam. After the exam, I was told it would cost an additional $50 if I wanted my eyeglass prescription. When I explained that I have vision insurance, I was then told they don't accept my plan. I chose not to pay the $50 because my vision insurance covers routine exams and prescriptions, so unfortunately the entire appointment ended up being a waste of my time. I now have to make another appointment with an in-network eye doctor. I'm also unclear why my medical insurance information was taken for what I understood to be a routine vision exam. This whole situation could have been avoided if, when I specifically asked about insurance while making the appointment, they had simply asked which vision insurance I had and verified whether they accepted it. Very disappointing experience and not a good way to run a practice.

Extremely disappointing and frustrating experience at Petelin Vision…read more After waiting an hour and a half, I finally had to get up, leave the exam room, and ask the staff if anyone was actually going to see me. That alone was unacceptable and showed very little regard for my time. When doctor Petelin finally came in, things somehow got worse. Rather than taking a moment to review my chart and understand my history, he immediately started asking questions and making statements that were factually incorrect. The whole interaction came across as arrogant, dismissive, and completely lacking in professionalism. I became so frustrated that when they finally went back to review my chart, I got up and walked out. I told them plainly that they had wasted my time. After sitting there for an hour and a half only to have the doctor come in unprepared and make incorrect assumptions, I saw no reason to continue. Patients are trusting you with their time, money, and eyesight. The least they should receive is basic professionalism, preparation, and respect. Unfortunately, I experienced none of that here. I will be taking my business somewhere else--somewhere that actually values its patients and understands that their time matters. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend Petelin Vision.

Me being the irresponsible adult, waited until I was out of contacts to go to my appointment to get more. They didn't have trials of my astigmatism contacts I use but they had the regular ones which can hold me over. Dr. Goldberg said they typically come in fast so after a week, I called and asked where they were because I didn't get them yet. They were on backorder and she (will not name who I spoke with on the phone) said let me call and see for how long, it's not usually long. Turns out it IS long and they wouldn't be in until November 17th so she directly called the manufacturer (Bausch + Lomb) and they said they can overnight them for $13. So I paid the $13. Well that was on Friday so I expected them Monday. Didn't get them but thought... maybe because I called them later in the day on Friday, they probably won't be here until Tuesday. Tuesday goes by, NO CONTACTS. So first thing this morning I call the eye doctor and she tells me the FedEx tracking is saying it was delivered......... I BLEW UP. I would know if the contacts were delivered. I work from home and see FedEx pass me everyday. We have a camera that would go off if something was delivered. She basically tells me it is out of the eye doctor offices hands now and I need to deal with FedEx. All I can think is "I just want to see!!" The lady tells me "well you can order more but it'll cost you". Immediate thought was I AM NEVER GIVING MY MONEY TO THIS OFFICE AGAIN. I call FedEx and they tell me they will contact the driver and he SHOULD get back to me by the end of the day, 5pm. I said "so I will sit her blind until I hear back from you at MAYBE 5pm!?" He said he made note that this was urgent... Mind you my thinking is, I'm working from home today and will flag down that driver myself when I see him. I get this text from the doctor's office and I honestly started tearing up.... My office and Bausch and Lomb are splitting the cost of my two 90pk contacts and overnight shipping. IF THAT ISN'T THE BEST CUSTOMER SERVICE YOU HAVE EVER SEEN, IDK WHAT IS. P.S. I'm highly considering lasik after this experience and I am still going to fight FedEx for the original contacts so I can give them back to the office for so generously giving to me

I'm still fairly young and I haven't been able to see out of my left eye for three years and my right eye is slowly getting worse. Dr. Palmer fitted some contacts and seems determined that he can get a good fit and get me seeing 20/20 again with corrective lenses. He gave me a little glimmer of hope that everything will be okay and I'm so thankful for that. I am also a part time teacher and do not have insurance. He is working with me and I appreciate that so much. He seems like a very genuine doctor who cares about his patience and not just the money. I'm looking forward to keep working with him and improving my vision.

I'm disappointed with how this billing issue has been handled. The office said they would give me a…read moretrial of free lenses. Before receiving the lenses, I received a $50 charge for them. I contacted the appropriate department to dispute the charge and explain the situation. I let them know that I would not accept the trial lenses until the charge was removed. Rather than receiving a meaningful response or resolution, I have continued to receive invoices for the same $50 charge. It's not the amount that bothers me--it's the lack of communication and the experience of being billed for something that was presented to me as a free trial.
