Dr Danesh is a fantastic doctor. He is straight forward and at the same time he is very understanding and kind. I went to him for a second opinion and he and his assistant were definitely very through and honest. He is now the only Retina specialist I would ever go to. read more

I have been going here for months now. The staff is friendly and helpful. Doctors are caring and knowledgeable.

Seen at Thunderbird location. Friendly staff. Dr. Bahvar was awesome. Wait time was great.

Love dr. Kayser, but would skip this provider for other reasons. 1. Office experience is sub par. They don't have a lot of patient care here. They run behind on appointments and will try to reschedule you. 2. They are using bill codes to insurance that don't align with services. I am trying to work through this with them now and give them the benefit of the doubt. But, looking at the statements, this goes back years. read more

They rip you off here . Don't go here if you plan on getting any thing done with out using insurance . It's December and we are not going to meet our medical deductible so we were going to pay cash . Cash paying customers pay more than if you go through insurance . The billing manager told me he rises the price up if you don't go through insurance . So we paid $300.00 for an office visit and $350.00 for a in office procedure . We will not be going back to this office again . Most dr offices will charge cash customers the allowed amount on insurance and not the billed amount . read more

Scheduled appointment, arrived, walked in the office, there were 3 staffs are working at the front desk , I said good morning & nobody responded like I'm invisible. Definitely not a pleasant greeting when patients check in. I see no smiles on their faces. read more

I had a 2:30pm appointment. The scheduler emailed me a form to fill in advance, or get there half an hour before the appointment to fill it there. I brought with me the form completely filled in already, and still got there 15 minutes early. Gave the receptionist the form and said I was ready for my appointment. Sat there for quite a while, got up to ask her if there was any problem, No, 'mam', they'll call you soon'. Sat there for over 25 minutes. Note that only two other people were waiting, and this is an office with 4 different doctors. I could see no reason for any wait, let alone a long one. Another staff person was walking back and forth in the corridor behind the reception, and then came to sit at the reception desk and started chatting with the receptionist. I got up again and said 'if the doctor is unavailable I will leave'. At that point the other staff stopped chatting, turned to the computer in front of her and said (literally): I need to prepare your chart and enter the info from your form, and then I can take you to the back'. She had had over half an hour to do that, since I handed the form and should have done that long before, rather than wandering the halls and chatting. I am a doctor myself. I train my staff to respect the patient and the patient's time. I set and keep my appointments because I think the patient's time is just as valuable as mine. Sure, things happen, but then my staff will apologize to the patient waiting, explain what is going on, and ask if they are OK to wait a little longer. I train my staff to ask every new patient how they prefer to be called, rather than arrogantly call everybody by their first name as if they were children in front of adults. I do not trust doctors who don't train their staff to be respectful of the patients, as they won't be respectful themselves. Why would I put my eyes in the hands of somebody who does not respect me? Obviously, I left, and will look for a doctor who clearly respects their patients and their time. read more

This is the rudest most uncaring health "care" "providers" iv ever been to. They straight up cancelled my appointment because i dared to ask them to send me a itemized bill so i may dispute charges with my health inssurace, never refused to pay and ever gave them my credit card. They would say rude things like "why not just go to another doctor if you dont like we wont give you a bill' to which i replied "because i took time off work to be here and its expensive". They did not give a shit i was having a panic attack because my retinas were detaching and i needed help. I was crying because i was in pain and they told me to leave. i NEVER refused to pay and even gave them my credit card/ i wouldn't trust the doctors here anymore then i would trust their heartless staff. They have no right to call themselves health care provider casue they dont care AT ALL. now im going to have to go to the emergency room and get in massive debt. Thanks allot. PLease retire, all you care about is money and not patients who are obvious having anxiety about their retina detachment. Terrible people. DONT GO HERE read more

Was referred to this center by Lenscrafters after the optometrist noticed black spot in my eye. He was quick to diagnose it and send my information to Retina Associates. I met with the team at Phoenix Retina Associates's Dr. Danesh and was taken back quickly. Was diagnosed with retinopathy and was told the truth that there is little they can do about it. Dr. Danesh then scheduled me to come in two months later. On my second appointment, I checked in at 10:00 and was called back at 10:45. I was then taken to another waiting area room at 11:05 and finally got to see the doctor at 11:30 am. When Dr. Danesh finally came to see me, he said I looked frustrated. I told him I have had a day already, and that I thought 90 minutes to see a doctor was a bit excessive. Before I could finish my sentence, Dr. Danesh told me "I don't think an hour and a half is excessive, you will wait 4 or more hours at another retina specialist... Why don't you go to one of them?" Woa.... what just happened??? I told him "ok, I will look into those option." He then said my eye is fine, blinded me with a bright light into my already dilated eyes and told me I was good to go. The receptionist asked what was wrong and I told her what Dr. Danesh had said to me and she seemed shocked and apologized for the doctor. I still cannot see out of my left eye. I called Retinal Consultants of Arizona, and Arizona Retina & Vitreous Consultants to see if 90 hours was excessive to see a doctor and if Dr. Danesh was correct. Each office told me that 90 minutes is excessive was shocked by Dr. Danesh's comments to me. I will NEVER go back to Dr. Danesh and the Phoenix Retinal Specialist office on Union Hill because of his absolute rude comments and his complete disregard for patient care. read more

I have been a patient of Dr. Sharam Danesh MD for several years, recently I had an eye infection, He called me and told me to come into his office right away so he could determine the course of treatment. Upon examination, he said I had to have eye surgery right away, called his assistant to call, schedule immediately and to clear his schedule once appointment had been made! I was called about half an hour later, was scheduled and to arrive asap. Dr. Danesh performed surgery removing the infection and I was to see him the next day. At the time of the surgery, I was unable to see out of the eye, it was light a heavy fog so all I could see was light and dark! I have now recovered and my eye sight is almost back to normal since surgery on 9-24-20 Thank you Dr. Danesh for your care ,expertise and professionalism. After seeing an Opthamologist and being diagnosed with a retinal tear at 4:30 pm on a Friday, the office contacted Dr. Kayser to see if she could see me immediately considering this was a vision threatening situation. She agreed! Dr. Kayser was thorough, friendly and professional while examining my eye and even completed laser surgery that evening! She went above and beyond in taking care of me with this very frightening diagnosis. I will be forever grateful to Dr. Kayser and her staff for accepting to see me last minute on a very late Friday and in providing top quality care! read more

I saw Dr Danesh at Phoenix Retina Associates. He is fantastic. Apparently, when you are very near sighted, you can end up with a retinal hole in your retina which could lead to a retinal detachment. Luckily, my ophthalmologist noticed a hole in my retina. I went to Dr. Danesh who actually saw retinal holes in both of my eyes. Dr Danesh saw me right away and I had the surgery to correct this very fast. Dr Danesh is a very comforting doctor as I was pretty nervous. He answered all of my questions patiently. My husband had also seen Dr. Danesh in the past and he did a great job for my husband as well. Everyone who works there is wonderful. The receptionists, Brittany and Angelica are dolls. All of the techs are superb. I would mention their names but I am afraid I will forget one of them. They are all so nice. read more

Have been seeing Dr Churgin for a year now due to some diabetic retinopathy. Very impressed with his office staff, I love Suzy. He takes time to explain things in detail, always asks how life is treating me in general. The prospect of losing your eyesight is scary but I feel my vision is in the best hands with him and his staff. My retina detached several months ago. Dr. Churgin was able to see me within an hour of when I was diagnosed by my optometrist. He was comforting, informative, and although I didn't know him, I had a certain confidence in him. He explained the entire surgery in detail and what to expect after. He got me in to surgery immediately and everything went amazing. I am fully recovered now with 20/20 vision (after cataract surgery which Dr. Churgin explained on my first visit would likely be necessary). I wasn't 20/20 prior to the retinal attachment! He had many follow up visits to really watch the progress and recovery. During one of my visits, he decided to take a deep look at my other eye. He noticed a few small holes and did a quick laser fix right then. He said that should really help prevent the same thing happening to that eye. Really great physician! His staff is very professional and friendly as well. Couldn't recommend them more highly. read more

Following the sudden onset of a peculiar and frightening eye symptom on a Saturday evening, I contacted my ophthalmologist, Dr. Matt Campouris (whom I also highly recommend) at Pearl Vision. Based on my symptoms, he referred me to Dr. Shahram Damesh in Phoenix. Much to my surprise, when I phoned the office late on Sunday to leave a message on its voicemail regarding an urgent appointment, the doctor himself picked up the call. He patiently listened to my description of what had occurred, and reassured me that I need not worry as much as I had been. He instructed me to contact his office early Monday morning and ask for an appointment that day. My experience with the office staff was terrific; the technicians executing the battery of painless test were all top-notch also. My experience with the doctor was longer, extremely thorough, well communicated. The news he delivered was good: what happened was a normal part of the aging process but does require immediate medical attention by Retina Specialist. No procedure was required, and I was to return in three weeks for a follow through or discharge appointment, which I did. That experience was equally professional, warm and efficient. Frankly, it's hard to imagine a better medical experience. I highly recommend this practice group and Dr Sharem Damesh. read more
