Dennis Dalton was highly recommended by family friends so I came in for repairs and stone replacements for my fine dainty 14K jewelry. While Dennis and the entire team are friendly and very knowledgeable, I recommend to only work with Victoria, because she gets the job done and done well. I had 2 broken bracelets repaired, 1 bracelet shortened, missing baguette diamond on ring replaced, and tiny diamond & tiny sea pearl on ring replaced for very affordable quote of under $100 and it was done in about 6 weeks. Tip: - Make note of the tight operating hours 11:00 AM - 4:00 PM Tues - Sat, call directly to check because sometimes they close a little later read more

My wife and I used Dennis for all our fine jewelry purchases for twenty years while living in NYC. Dennis is just the best, calmly and deliberately explaining everything and answering all of our questions. Add that his prices are FAR lower than in Midtown. Now, the coolest thing is that our DAUGHTER just got HER engagement ring from Dennis, just like I did in 1992!! read more

My fiancé was recommended to this jeweler from a good friend, and they knocked it out of the park. He was assisted by Ellen initially who put together the most beautiful engagement ring. She did not push anything on him that he didn't want or need and was so helpful and responsive. He said that he felt like such an important customer which is great when purchasing such an important item! When bringing the ring back to get resized, the team did it in under an hour and you can't even tell. It is absolutely GORGEOUS and I highly recommend this jeweler to anyone looking for something unique, great quality, and wonderful customer service. read more

Newly engaged and still floating around the city on that engagement high!! My fiance (still getting used to calling him that!) & I picked out the ring together (and then I had him surprise me with it later on). Dennis and his team were SO helpful in the whole process. I can't thank them enough for their patience, expertise/knowledge and overall great customer service. They were very thorough in answering all of our questions, patiently showed us every piece (settings as well as diamonds) we asked to see and made sure we knew the pros/cons of each piece when we had more questions. Dennis himself helped us through the whole thing from start to finish (assisted by his team). My fiance & I were very impressed with the whole experience and were so happy we decided to get our ring from Dennis. I sent them an email thanking them for their help after my fiance presented me with the ring officially, and they sent a very nice warm reply back. Looking forward to going back to look at wedding bands next!! read more

Dennis J Dalton - My beautiful engagement ring!! :-) Dennis & his team were SO helpful to my fiance & I as we picked it out. - Jewelry Near Me - New York, New York

What spectacular service. Came highly recommended to us, and now, by us! Mr. Dalton and his lovely team are such knowledgeable, warm, and accommodating people- not to mention they do beautiful work. My fiance and my sister spent a few hours with Dennis and his staff while shopping for my engagement ring. Both my sister and fiance remarked at how pleasant, unhurried, and educational the experience was. The process resulted in a gorgeous ring that was ready to take home that same day. Unfortunately, I miscalculated my ring size and when I received the ring from my fiance it was too large. I called Dennis a few days later and was told to come in whenever I'd like for a resizing. Before my trip into Manhattan, I snagged or banged the ring (which I had been wearing on my middle finger) and the gallery cracked and bent. I'm still not sure exactly what I did or how it happened (I'm a klutz!), but I was very upset. When I arrived at the store, I showed Dennis and the ladies what had happened and they told me to go have lunch and come back in a couple of hours. So I did, and in under three hours I had my ring back. The diamond had been put in a brand new setting that not only fit beautifully, but was a bit thicker and sturdier than the previous one (which, at my request, had been very, very thin and delicate). One of the girls had me laughing when she pointed out (with a wink) that this meant that now the accent diamonds on the shank were larger, as well! They did not charge me for any of the work or for the new setting. Not a cent. Furthermore, because I live on Long Island, Dennis made sure the work would be completed that day so I would not have to make a special trip back into the city. I am thrilled with the ring and plan on returning for our wedding bands. Thank you to Dennis and his team! read more

The team at Dennis Dalton are incredible. They were recommended to my husband by a family friend and they helped him pick out my enhancement ring which is so beautiful and perfect. We went back for wedding bands and they were very helpful. We ended up getting both our bands and earrings for me bridesmaids. I also had issues with the fit of my engagement ring and they were patient in helping me fix it (we added two balls , which was too tight, then took out one ball which was perfect!). My husband called them a year later to find a matching wedding band to put on the other side my engagement ring (see picture). They had all our paperwork and easily shipped it in the mail. I LOVEEE my rings and get compliments all the time. read more

This is my go to jewelry store in Chinatown. We have gotten several necklaces for my mom, and this is where we got my engagement ring and wedding bands. They have good designs and the service is friendly. Sometimes I bang my wedding ring by accident and Im afraid the diamonds will come out as it has happened with other jewelry but it hasn't happened. One time my sister in law saw some earrings at a brand name store but didn't want to spend so much money and they offered to find/replicate them at a much lower price. Definitely recommended!!! read more

Trustworthy, experienced, and highly professional service & staff...Dennis and his staff understand how to educate you on selecting a high quality diamond that you will love and not overspend for at other diamond jewelers. While looking at several diamonds with a loupe (i.e. a hand held magnifier), Dennis explained the characteristics of each diamond and why the price reflects those traits. It's so helpful to see all the diamonds together so that you can compare them to each other & choose the one you love...and all of this with no sales pressure. Dennis is honest, thoughtful & very experienced. He came highly recommended to me and I have already recommended him to my girlfriends. read more

I cannot recommend Dennis, Ellen, and the rest of their team enough!!! My boyfriend and I met with them to shop for an engagement ring and they were incredibly knowledgeable, helpful, and patient. They curated a selection of settings and diamonds based off of pictures and descriptions we provided and they truly hit the nail on the head! I instantly loved one of the settings they presented. From there, Dennis provided some essential information on the relationship between cut, clarity, and color and the role each plays in the appearance of a diamond. He then began showing us diamonds in our price range and allowed us to compare them side by side so we could see the subtle differences. If we were ever unsure about any of the choices or if we needed help narrowing down the selection, they gave us every opportunity to look at the diamonds in different lighting, from different perspectives, etc. as many times as we wanted, to help us make the best decision. We knew we were in good hands and could completely trust their expertise. They made a once in a lifetime experience, even more special! If you want a personalized jewelry shopping experience with a knowledgeable and down-right amazing team, then look no further than Dennis J. Dalton Ltd.! read more

My fiancé and I had a wonderful experience choosing a stone and a setting for my engagement ring. Dennis educated us about diamond color, clarity and cut and we examined several diamonds under a microscope to see examples. He asked us about our price range and pulled a beautiful and brilliant diamond in our range that we paired with a setting. The ring is absolutely lovely and is so sparkly its hard to get a picture of (my phone wont focus on it) read more

Dennis is so kind and really takes the time to educate you about what you are buying. My husband and I got both my engagement, and his/her wedding bands, he also helped us in ordering a Brietling watch. I have also bought graduation and birthday presents (earrings) from him. The girls that work with him are fantastic and always have great ideas as well. Would recommend to anyone who is looking to get a high quality piece of jewelry at a fair price with no hassling or up-selling. read more

I am a Wedding & Event Planner by trade. Yet when the time came for us to get my engagement ring, I had nothing but negative experiences with the jewelers in Maryland despite having established relationships with a couple, including the biggest independent jewelry store in the state. Having seen significantly more engagement rings than your average person due to my profession, I acknowledge that I was being rather picky. I didn't want the same old setting that I see day in and out. For months we went back and forth with jewelers, with no luck. They essentially said that what I wanted "didn't exist within our price range". But I knew that wasn't true. And because they thought I was being too picky, they would try to talk to my fiancé on the side in an attempt to convince him to spend more to "make me happy". So inappropriate! We were beyond frustrated, and I don't often get frustrated with anything wedding-related. After a casual chat with a client about our inability to find exactly what we were looking for, she immediately told me about her jeweler, Dennis Dalton. She pointed to rings on both hands, her bracelets, her pendant and earrings, telling me that all of them were custom made for her by Dennis. And they were all beautiful pieces. She has been calling on him for over 30 years! (Note: She lives on the west coast and Dennis is in NYC!) At the end of our rope, we decided we would give him a call. So happy we did!! Dennis promptly returned our call and it immediately felt like we were talking to an old friend. (I promise you that you will feel comfortable with him right away. No "know it all" selling. No pushiness. It's a relief after all of the others.) After a few emails with photos and a couple of calls, we made an appointment and drove OVER THREE HOURS to see him. But it was definitely worth it! The entire staff was amazing from the first second we got there. And Dennis found EXACTLY what we were searching months for within the very first visit. I was stunned. After being told time and time again that "it didn't exist", he found it. Dennis and his team spent a lot of time with my fiancé and I, refining every last detail of what they knew I liked. They were patient, listened and gave good guidance, when needed. No one told us to stop being so picky or to "settle". No one told me that what I wanted was out of reach. They listened, took notes and found options for us! Not just one of these "impossible" stones, but a few to choose from. And Dennis gave honest feedback about the stones and his thoughts on them regardless of which one cost more, which I know my fiancé appreciated a lot. At that point I was "removed" from the final decision process, so it would be a surprise. I didn't know which stone was picked or what the final setting would look like. We got engaged on 7/7 and I am OVER THE MOON at the stone and Dennis's craftsmanship on this custom setting. Every minute detail I shared that I liked (& disliked) from other photos was acknowledged and it showed. Additionally, the diamond was bigger, of better C's and still within budget. He completely nailed it. The ring is a show-stopper, hands down. And I TRULY owe it all to Dennis Dalton and his team. I will definitely encourage every friend and client/bride to make the drive to visit Dennis. You will not regret your decision to do so. Trust me! read more

We have been going to Dennis and his team for years and HIGHLY recommend him! Great quality every time and a pleasure to work with.

Dennis exceeded all expectations! My friend's family swears by Dennis and after years of saying I was going to reset my diamond - I finally did it! Dennis and his team are experts at what they do - it was an awesome and fun experience. I not only reset my engagement ring, I also took a diamond from my great-grandmother and had it reset into a pendant - and it is now a beautiful family heirloom. It is so comforting to know that Dennis is trustworthy and so knowledgeable. I already have plans to go back with my mom, sister and friend. read more

My experience with Dennis was phenomenal! I was referred to Dennis from my girlfriend's family when it came time to buy her an engagement ring. Her family had purchased from Dennis for generations and she wanted to do the same. I had jeweler friends in NC who had offered me a pretty stellar deal so I was a bit skeptical to see what he could offer me. Boy, did Dennis show me up! Dennis not only educated me on how to properly look at diamonds, he showed me the differences that you can't really see when looking at diamonds from an online retailer. He didn't make me feel pressured and was patient as I asked stupid questions. As if that wasn't enough, he made me an offer my friends from NC couldn't even compete with! My GF - now fiance - loved the ring! A few days later she posted to social media and the outpouring of love has been crazy. Everyone loves the ring and it is all thanks to Dennis and his team! Thanks again Dennis! read more

Incredible. That says it all. I was referred to Dennis by a close friend, and the ring-shopping experience could not have been better. Dennis is honest, trustworthy, a straight shooter, and not at all a hard-seller; a true gentleman. He has an amazing, welcoming staff who really made my fiance feel comfortable and happy throughout the hour or so we spent together. Moreover, the ring that he designed and crafted for my fiance was gorgeous, and it brings her tremendous joy every time she looks at it. His prices were the lowest I've heard of for the quality of the stock. We just returned for our wedding bands and had a similar great experience. Even 1 year down the road, Dennis remembered us and welcomed us with open arms. If you need any sort of jewelry, or someone to guide you through the oft-frightening experience of buying wedding/engagement jewelry, go visit Dennis; you'll be in good hands. read more

Dennis and his wonderful team have been so amazing to me over the years. I had not been to visit for over 9 years and they remembered me when I walked in. They are so helpful and I completely trust their opinion. I have both my wedding and engagement ring from them and now an amazing pair of earrings. I was just visiting New York City and stopped in to see if they could help. They were close to closing for the weekend and wouldn't be open again until I was headed back home. They dropped everything for me and had my earrings set and ready to go in 30mins. They are perfect and I get so many compliments on them. I know they would have even stayed late if it meant getting them done for me. There isn't anyone else I would trust with new diamonds. It's worth the trip from Canada to deal with such an amazing team of people! Thank you so much Dennis:) read more

Dennis expertly guided myself and my future son in law in choosing an engagement ring for my daughter. He was a pleasure to deal with, very accomodating, fairly priced and delivered on time. My daughter wanted a specific type of yellow diamond and he found a magnificent stone through his contacts and created a spectacular ring. His aim is to please and he certainly accomplished that as my daughter LOVED her setting. I HIGHLY recommend Dennis and his staff. I can't say enough about his calm and helpful demeanor, he is trustworthy and true to his word which is essential particularly when dealing with a jeweler to assess the quality of a stone. He is very knowledgeable and his designs are beautiful and he has become my jeweler of choice for everything. read more

An excellent jeweller. I bought my fiancé's engagement ring here. Good value and from what I could see, great quality. Dennis and his team is as good as they get! When you are looking for someone you can trust - you can count on him. He was referred to us by our friends that have been buying pieces from him for years. We are from Canada and will make the trek to see him. He's helped me and my boyfriend in the process of looking/buying an engagement ring. He was patient, kind, educational, professional and worked with us for months. Recently when I was in New York, I went to see him to buy a pair of solitaire diamond studs. I don't have to talk cut, clarity, color with him because he carries the best - I trust him enough to tell him my price range and for him to recommend a diamond to me. You never feel like you are being "sold" to, he is genuine and respects your budget and will work with you to get the best value for your budget. I highly recommend Dennis to anyone...regardless where you live...he is worth travelling to! read more

in a nut shell, great staff, great prices and great service. Been going here for a little under a year now and I am so glad I found them. After going to another shop and being ignored and then another one and not being shown what I was askingg for. Dennis' staff goes above and beyond. They work with you and listen to you. Their creative minds are always working. When they tell you have a seat, trust me, take it, you will be there for a while and the whole time you wont feel pressured. They work with your budget and your ideas and offer great suggestions. I went there recently for an item, that unfortunatley was out of stock. They brought it in for me the next day and called me to tell me it was in. I offered to put a hold on it with my CC and they said that wouldnt be necessary, they would just hold it till i had the opportunity to come in and look it over. Hows that for no pressure?!!! The place is dangerous, you may find yourself wanting to go back more often than your wallet/purse can afford. You will leave there with a great item, a feeling of satisfaction and a new friend!
