TLDR; I will go out of my way to see Tawnya…read more I recently visited Tawnya for a trim & hair treatment. For context, I probably have closest to a 2C wavy type hair, no color treatment, hair near my waist & my last haircut was maybe 6 months ago. I have very dry hair & want to keep my hair long while making it stronger & healthier. I booked a haircut & K18 treatment. I am writing this review 2 days after my visit & drove from the Costa Mesa area. Service- Tawnya asked a lot of specific questions to make sure we were on the same page for what I wanted. It was surprising how detailed some of the questions were, some were things I never thought about. She told me exactly how much she'd be cutting off & it was exactly that. We also did a leave in treatment which my hair desperately needed. I could instantly feel the difference in my hair. The ends were completely soft and my hair had an extra shine to it. People around me noticed too, two days after my visit & I'm still getting compliments about how great my hair looks. I will absolutely be coming back. Location - Look for Sola Salons when you pull up to the parking area. That is the entrance you'll want to take. Tawnya has her own private studio inside. Part of the reason I hate going to a traditional salon is the combined noise from all the stylists. It is overstimulating & I walk away feeling exhausted. I had heard she had her own space but didn't realize how much of a huge difference it would make. I walked away from this appointment feeling re-energized & went out with friends.

My color looks natural, blends perfectly, and grows out so nicely. What I appreciate most is her consistency and care. She never rushes, pays attention to detail, and makes every appointment feel comfortable and personalized. You can tell she genuinely cares about her clients and her work. I highly recommend Diana and Hair Trends Salon to anyone looking for a talented and trustworthy hairstylist. I wouldn't go anywhere else!

I had a very disappointing experience at this salon, and unfortunately, I will not be returning…read more Before my appointment, I called the salon and specifically explained that I had five boxes of tape-in hair extensions. I asked how much it would cost to have them installed, and I was given a price. When I arrived, however, I was told that the extensions were not considered "bundles" and that I would therefore be charged significantly more for the installation. I asked what she meant by "bundles," because I understood a bundle to mean the amount of hair contained in a package/box. I explained that I had approximately 100 grams of hair. Despite the change in price, I decided to stay and proceed with the appointment. Before starting, I also asked whether the amount of hair I had would be enough for my entire head. I was told that it would be. Once the installation began, it became clear that I did not have enough hair. I was then told that I would need to purchase additional hair and pay an additional installation fee. At that point, the total cost was going beyond my budget, so I decided that I could no longer continue with the service. Since the service was not completed, I was very surprised to be told that I would still have to pay a $175 cancellation fee. I understand that stylists need to be compensated for their time, but in my situation, I feel the experience was unfair because the original quote had changed after I arrived, I was initially told that I had enough hair, and then I was informed that I needed to spend significantly more money to complete the service. I also felt uncomfortable because pictures were taken of me without my permission. I didn't say anything at the time because I was already frustrated and simply wanted the focus to remain on my hair, but afterward I realized how uncomfortable that made me feel. To make matters worse, the tape extensions that had already been installed were very visible around the crown of my head, which I was not happy with at all. I understand that pricing can depend on the amount of hair and the work involved, and I respect that hairstylists deserve to be paid fairly for their work. However, I believe these details should have been clearly explained before the appointment, especially since I specifically called beforehand to discuss my hair and the expected cost. Overall, I left feeling very disappointed and frustrated with the experience. I regret not walking away when the price changed upon arrival, and unfortunately, this is not a salon I will be returning to.
