When our (only 2 year old) computer decided to slip into a coma during an update process, we called the Alaska Computer Guy. (This was after an attempt with a visit to Pyramid computer service only to find out the hours posted are not the hours followed. Not a good way to run a business.) An appointment was set up with Glen, (the Alaska Computer Guy) to drop off the computer and the computer was fixed and done the following day. Sweet! We were charged $100 bucks, which at first was a gasp, but the experience was so worth it. Thanks Glen! This guy knows what to do, and takes care of the customer.

CAUTION SCAMMERS: I came to this store to ask them what I should do about installing a part for my…read morecomputer and what would they charge to open my computer and see what I need to do to fix it and if so how much would it cost to Sauter it if needed. They told me to try electrical taping it in (which I asked them if I could fix it that way), then cut me a small piece of electrical tape, and said but I was unable to fix it, bring it back in and they will take a look at it and see what they can do. They also told me they would charge me for a half hour. When I got home I realized I didn't have the right sized screw driver. So I took the bus, got the computer, and went back to the store. They asked me if I fixed it and I told them I didn't have the right size screw driver. One of the guys quickly told me it would take an hour to fix. All this without them looking at it like they said they would. I told them I know it's not an hour long job because it literally just plugs into a small black box inside. They maintained it was 1 hour at $175 an hour. They changed the rate since a couple hours after I initially asked them? So I asked them "can you just do a consultation and look at it?". He got the clipboard out and started asking me all my personal information name, phone number, etc. Then he said he was charging me for a diagnosis of $175. I said "I don't feel comfortable paying that much money for someone to unscrew the panel and plug in the part. I EVEN HAD THE PART IN MY POCKET AND TOLD THEM SEVERAL TIMES!
