We called them over a year ago to replace a water heater that decided to kick it the weekend we had guests staying with us. After calling three plumbing companies, Guardian was the first to respond...as I think about it, we didn't hear from the other two for days! Anyway, after explaining this was an emergency situation they made it a priority and came the same day. Tony installed a brand new water heater and we were back in business! A year and a half later, we encountered an issue with one of our showers. Again, Guardian came to the rescue! They identified and fixed our problem PRONTO! Tony, Willie, Freddie, and company...you all ROCK! I'm a huge fan of supporting family businesses and this one is truly a family that's worth investing all of your plumbing & heating needs in! Bottom line...It doesn't get any better than Guardian Plumbing & Heating...they are honest, personable, professional, caring, quick and straight up! I highly recommend them to everyone!!

Not only was Mike able…read moreto ask a few questions and give an initial diagnosis over the phone, which ended up being correct, but he was getting his guy in the truck heading my way as I was still on the phone. Once he arrived, ahead of his truck, he did a great job getting a plan together to attack the problem. When the truck arrived, he moved quickly and cleared the clogged pipe. We were in shock over the state of our house, but Mike was the consummate professional and clearly laid out the options moving forward. I got the immediate sense that he was fair and not looking to take advantage of anyone. He explained best case and worst case for each option and applied no pressure as we tried to figure out cost, insurance ramifications, urgency and other factors. We made our decision and he committed to fixing it as quickly and economically as possible. Fast forward to the repair. He and his guys were on time, professional and very respectful. They prepped for a clean departure and started the work. What initially looked like a best case, started going sour because of where the problem was in the pipes, but the guys did everything they could to not take the job to the next level, which would have cost a lot more money. Mike and the guys went above and beyond to save an exterior retaining wall, which would have cost me thousands to repair/replace. They easily could have just taken the easier and more expensive option but they found a way to fix everything without digging up my wall and walkway. I feel like most plumbers would've just taken the big payday. I've never had a plumber that I trust, until now. And that's worth a lot nowadays.

They were on time, checked out the AC, added coolant and then took a quick peek at the furnace. They said both look good for the age (17 years) and should be good for a while. I had questions about rebates for heat pumps and he had answers about rebates, rough costs and advantages of the new heat pumps. He reiterated that we didn't need to change out our current equipment but if we feel it's important for environmental reasons there are good options. We'll definitely be using them going forward, and have a fall furnace checkup scheduled.

On the first cold day this winter he claims the heater is all rusted out in the exchanger and has to be replaced, along with the entire system because a new heater can't work with an old air conditioner. Our neighbor suggested we call their guy. He's been in business for 30 years. Needless to say, the heater was not rusted he showed me the unit was very dirty, the fan motor and wheel were clogged with dirt and there were two dead birds in the chimney. The outside air conditioner was only 10 years old. I'm convinced SK had never done anything other than collect their fee and try to sell stuff we didn't want or need.

    Yes, this is a long review, but for good reason. Please take the time to read it, if you are…read morelooking for an excellent HVAC company. Before I start, please know it's rare for me to write a review for a company, but every once in a great while, I come across a company who truly deserves a positive review. Jonathan's Heating & Air Conditioning Company is one of those rare companies that truly deserves a great review. On May 1, 2024, I had a company (not Jonathan's, as I hadn't heard of them yet), install a brand new HVAC unit in my home. In mid-June of this year, 2025, my just over 1 year old HVAC unit was only putting out "fan air", not "air conditioned" air. (Of course, the warranty expired exactly 1 year after installation). I put in a claim with my home warranty company. After several days of them not being able to find a company to come to my home to repair the unit, they finally gave me the option to find my own licensed technician to come out and diagnose the problem. I called the original installer, figuring he could easily diagnose and repair the problem, but he said he was booked out for the next 5 weeks!! So, I called many large and small companies that advertised that they can install and/or repair HVAC units. The earliest any of them could come out was about 10 days. Not only that, but most of them said they would not help me answer the questions required by the home warranty company about the HVAC unit's issues, so that I could (hopefully) be approved for the repairs & get reimbursed later. After many, many calls, I came across Jonathan's Heating & Air Conditioning Company. Not only were they the least expensive price I was quoted by any of the other companies I called, to come out & diagnose the problem, but they were willing to help me submit the needed answers to the questions required by my home warranty company, so we could proceed with the repairs once the problem was identified. When I spoke with Alix, in the office, she heard the desperation in my voice. She said they would send out one of their techs the very same day!! Their tech, Joe, did indeed come to my home that same day as promised. He diagnosed the problem. He took pictures and a video & he sat with me while I answered all of the home warranty company's questions and submitted the pictures, (they do not accept videos), on their portal. The home warranty company called Joe, while he was still at my house & said they wanted more pictures. Joe took more pictures and I submitted them. His patience level was nothing short of exceptional while we waited for the warranty company's decision. They did not make a decision that day. In fact, the home warranty company took days to make a decision. Alix, in the office, was kind and compassionate. She knew my cat & I were suffering on the 100 degree days we were having in NJ. Joe, their technician, was just as kind and compassionate as Alix. During the waiting period (because of the home warranty company's delay in reaching a decision), Alix and Joe continued to have good communication with me to see if there was anything else needed by the warranty company. On two occasions, I spoke to the owner, Jonathan. He explained in more detail, but in layman's terms that I could understand, exactly what the problem was for my own knowledge and in case the warranty company asked me any additional questions. The whole experience with Jonathan's Heating & Air Conditioning was exceptional. The pricing, the quality of workmanship, the communication, the willingness to answer questions I had & the willingness to help me answer the home warranty's questions, etc., by far exceeded my expectations. I would, without reservation, recommend them to my family and friends (and anyone else reading this review), should any of you have any HVAC issues.
