We had a great experience with Kelly as our wedding coordinator. In short, she is a seasoned pro who is exceptional at her job. We selected the midsize package, and found that Kelly was responsive in the lead up to the major crunch, helping guide us to selecting the proper vendors, keeping our budget together, and remaining on schedule with booking the services. She was the number one recommended planner by our venue (Adamson House), and she was responsible for guiding our choices with the caterer, photographer, videographer, florist, liquor vendor, and rental company. They need 5 minutes to themselves and then will be ready for you." She takes us to our private room, where we find champagne and the passed hors d'oeuvres we ordered for our guests, waiting for us. With a 2011 Best of Weddings award from TheKnot.com, Kelly Demaray was the only one that offered more for less! Kelly's DAY-OF coverage starts A MONTH before the wedding. Before we decided to go with Kelly, we met her at a local cafe. During our first meeting, before I signed any contract, Kelly gave me a bunch of tips for planning my wedding and provided me with some vendor suggestions. I knew I had to go with her after meeting her. She is friendly, organized and on top of her game. She really made me feel like she knows what she's doing, which is just what I needed. The second time we met was 4 weeks before my wedding for the walk through at the venue. She arranged the meeting with the hotel representative at the time that was best for me. Taking the favors and other wedding stuff for me during the week before the wedding was a huge load off of my shoulders. All of these glowing reviews are spot on - Kelly was simply incredible. I heard about her from our venue - they highly recommended her and she did not disappoint, she actually far exceeded already high expectations. We initially met for a consult where Kelly explained her role. She answered all of my mom and my questions so that we had full confidence in her. Given all of her great reviews, the venue's strong endorsement, and the great impression she made in person, we did not look very far before choosing Kelly as our month-of coordinator. About a month out, we met in person for a "walk through." Kelly provided structure, answered questions, gave advice when needed but was never too pushy or controlling with regards to how the whole ceremony and reception would be set up, and how events would flow through the evening. She is the perfect balance of firm and super organized with openness, flexibility and creativity. During the month of our wedding, Kelly and I emailed daily (sometimes multiple times per day) and it became very clear, very quickly that she was someone we could 100% trust and depend on, that no detail would be overlooked, and everything would be just how we pictured. The wedding day was just that! Kelly ensured everything was set up just as we wanted (and for things that my husband and I didn't have a clear plan for - she improvised perfectly), she coordinated the loading in of all of the vendors (and made sure to be in touch plenty of time in advance to give them schedules, instructions, etc.) and made sure that everyone was where they needed to be. My husband and I did not have to think about one logistical item on our wedding day which was so wonderful. And we didn't worry because we knew Kelly would have everything under control! Our wedding was more magical than we imagined and every detail worked out perfectly. Just a few small examples: when I got deodorant on my husband's tux, she was there in 30 seconds to wipe it off; we had asked that she gently steer us along as we were greeting tables if we were staying too long at a single table, and she was there doing just that; when we were hungry at the end of the night, she had special entrees packaged up and made for us. Even before we hired Kelly as our month of wedding coordinator, she was so helpful with offering ideas and contacts for vendors to inquire with. That's how I knew I had to work with her. The Best Day of My Life I was so excited for my wedding day, and knew it would be great, but I was never one of those girls who was obsessed with a 'wedding.' I was just excited to be married and having a wedding seemed to be the only way to do that. Well, after hiring Demaray Events, everything changed. Kelly made everything so easy for me that I got to really focus on the day and what it meant for my fiance and I. We started to think of crazy things that we thought would be so fun, and Kelly was able to produce every little weird request we had. She found us the PERFECT venue, negotiated a price that was under our budget, took care of every little detail that I would never have thought of until the day, when it would have been too late. She even chose our wedding colors because I have bad taste and she knew that would look best in the venue, she took into account the time of year, how much sunlight would be coming in through the windows (I would NEVER have thought of that!). She was able to get my dream florist to agree to do my wedding even though they were already booked that day (!!) She was so wonderful to my friends and family, she took into consideration the specific dietary needs of a few of my guests (my father being one of them) with the caterer. She made sure everything happened in a timely fashion and nothing was dragging, ever. She took time to add some special, personal touches as well. She was even great at organizing the reception room so there was a flow, and people could dance, or relax and chat without sitting next to giant speakers. I was also impressed with how she was able to prioritize our budget and design. She always told me what I should spend my money on, and what no one would notice, and she was right! And, as a bride, she took such great care of me on my actual wedding day. I didn't worry about a thing. I just sipped champagne with my girlfriends and family and enjoyed getting ready and hanging with everyone all day, it was a really special day with no stress, just loads of fun and I felt totally comfortable letting go and giving Kelly the reigns. She made sure I ate, had comfy shoes to change into, got a few private moments with my husband after the ceremony before the craziness of the reception. I really can't say enough about how amazing my wedding day was, and it was because of Kelly. I have totally become one of those girls who is obsessed with her wedding. I had no idea it could be so wonderful and special, and I couldn't have done it without her. If you're thinking of hiring Demaray Events, stop thinking about it, and just do it. Kelly took every ounce of pressure off of our wedding experience. I loved all of the little, considerate things she did for us: let us have a few moments post-ceremony to ourselves, knew our favorite cocktails and brought them to us during our photo session, etc. Not only did Kelly run the day-of without a hiccup, but she made the process leading up to it easy and enjoyable. She was very communicative and let me know all of my options before making any decisions and was able to comb through vendor contracts and point out what was missing or unnecessary. She was especially beneficial in navigating the subtleties between vendors and our venue (the Descanso Gardens), where she has extensive experience.
