My appointment had been switched because my original doctor had an emergency, and I was scheduled with Dr. Kristel Carey. It turned out to be one of the best surprises. Dr. Carey is, without question, one of the best orthopedic doctors I've met. She took the time to thoroughly explain what is happening with my knee and why I'm experiencing the pain and breakdown that I have. No other orthopedic doctor has ever explained my condition in such a clear and understandable way. What impressed me most was that she truly listened. I tend to ask a lot of questions and sometimes over-explain my concerns, but she never made me feel rushed or dismissed. She listened patiently, answered every question, and made sure I understood all of my treatment options. I also appreciated that she didn't immediately push medication or surgery. She respected my concerns, offered alternatives, and presented surgery as an option--not a decision she was making for me. She gave me the knowledge I needed to make an informed choice, and because of the trust she built during this visit, I would seriously consider surgery with her if that time comes. Dr. Carey has an excellent bedside manner, a great sense of humor, and genuinely cares about her patients. I walked in meeting a doctor for the first time and walked out feeling like I had found the orthopedic specialist I want to continue seeing. Building trust with a physician is priceless, and she earned mine during our very first visit. I highly recommend Dr. Kristel Carey to anyone looking for an orthopedic surgeon who is knowledgeable, compassionate, patient, and truly puts the patient first.

Upon entering, I was warmly greeted by Affia. I've had the pleasure of encountering her before, and each time, she consistently brings such a kind, calming, and genuine presence. From the moment I arrived, she acknowledged me by name, which immediately made me feel seen and welcomed. Affia kept me informed throughout my wait, letting me know that the doctor was running behind. While I completely understand that delays can happen and are often outside of anyone's control, her thoughtful updates and communication made a meaningful difference. Her attentiveness helped ease the waiting process and made me feel respected as a patient. What stood out most was her warmth and sincerity. In healthcare settings, it can sometimes feel like you're just another number, but Affia's demeanor reminds you that compassion and human connection still matter deeply. She carries herself with such professionalism and kindness, and it truly enhances the overall patient experience. I'm very appreciative of her and wanted to make sure her efforts and positive energy were recognized. She is a wonderful reflection of the care and compassion that patients hope to receive.
