Yesterday the crew was here for the recent job of removing concrete landing step ( which started to fall apart during the winter) and replacing it with a granite step. Flashing is all wrong. Poor quality bricks, bad mortar joints, terrible job on the crown, only one layer of brick on the crown should be three, bad and sloppy workmanship on the cement crown itself. Shortly after my water heater stack vent was backing up into the basement. The reason? A hunk of mortar feel and lodged itself blocking the hot water heater exhaust into the flu. Terrible sloppy workmanship. All recommend total replacement. Wasted $9,000. Need to demolish and rebuild.
