Anyhow, only about 10% of contractors even bothered getting back to me with a price on this job. Furthermore, whoever did get back the prices were just outrageous in my opinion. I finally came in contact with Contractor Ronnie from Shore Lock. He listened intently to everything I wanted and was able to give me a price right on the spot! That price was at least 1/2 of what I was quoted by everyone else. I asked him "what if we run into issues like rotting wood on roof or anywhere else"?, he told me not to worry he's NOT the type of contractor to add to the price later. He stuck to his word even though a lot of wood was rotting and replaced in various areas around the house. I am very pleased with the work done by Ronnie's guys. My house literally looks transformed. The guys worked incredibly hard and were meticulous about cleaning up. I really thought this is too good to be true when I hired them.. but here I am in the end with all this work done at a great price and a Gorgeous house! Pictures just don't do it justice. I have people literally stopping on the street to ask me about the color and how beautiful the house looks. Ronnie communicated well with me throughout the process and truly was wonderful! It's now mid-November, and not only are the windows still not installed, but the installation date was just pushed again to mid-December--almost five months after signing. We specifically reviewed the timeline because we wanted this done before it gets cold. We have booked dog daycare which has to be rescheduled, it affects our schedules, plans, and will massively impact our work, which is WFH. The measuring process was chaotic. The person sent to measure always gave last-minute notice and had to come out multiple times because they kept miscounting the number of windows--always short by one. Communication throughout this process has been terrible. You have to constantly follow up for updates; Zen never reaches out proactively or takes ownership of delays. Every update comes only after you chase them. When we brought up these issues, the company's response was to blame the original sales rep, who is "no longer with them." Convenient excuse, but the timeline and promises were in writing. Zen has taken no accountability for the misinformation or poor service. Yes, they may be cheaper than competitors, but you truly get what you pay for--unreliable timelines, lack of professionalism, and customer service that's downright egregious. Buyer beware!

We had a very difficult 14 months working with this contractor. Our 4-month estimate took way too…read morelong as he stated he 'underquoted' our project; this was after he already started. He was hard to get a hold of during the first months, he wasn't present to oversee the project, and he isn't holding himself accountable now for the fact that he overcharged us for something that was in the original blueprints. When we went to use the microwave, it fell out of the wall, and when we further investigated, the worker had done everything wrong. The electric was out of the area it should be, they had cut into the supporting beam, they used ceiling vents as wall vents, and nothing was holding the microwave except some tape the guy used instead of properly mounting the unit. He promised to repay us for items we bought to fix it, and both times he sent people to fix it, my father directed them instead of showing up to do his job. He actually cut a hole into my wall because he did not measure the fridge and put it up against the wall (I am not a contractor, but a fridge needs framing for a reason), and the door wouldn't open. He then blamed me for the mistake, as if I had anything to do with the measuring or ordering parts. Our door was even installed backward to what the drawings entailed. I do not recommend this company; it has been an awful journey. I am sure he will post that his contract was fulfilled, but it was not. Trust me, use someone else.
