The practitioners here are exceptionally trained and qualified, with most, if not all, having advanced degrees in Physical Therapy and extensive practical hands-on experience. Samantha ("Sammy") Rondeau, DPT, led my first series of PT sessions for right knee replacement. This was personally challenging as I'd never experienced a surgery or recovery like this one. Sammy outlined, explained, and led 3-times a week sessions to restore movement and full use of my right leg. This included home exercises (I continue to use as part of my home workouts.) Sammy is also leading my rotator cuff PT (which I started this week.) A comprehensive assessment coupled with MD recommendations precedes physical therapy here. Everyone here is very client-focused. Lots of off-street parking and a comfortable waiting room. The staff are all upbeat and eager to guide the rest of us to improved health. There are many PT clinics in the immediate area, but I am very fortunate to work with this one.

She actually sighed. Not a good sign. I will look elsewhere.

I was pleasantly surprised how much exercise I could accomplish in the pool on the first visit! My therapist Andy was excellent in listening to my concerns and in training me so that I could continue working out at home on my off days. I knew all too well what I was in store for, & was punctual for each appt, but was often seen 10 minutes late. This may have been overlooked, but the office was often empty & I was told the therapist was busy with 'paperwork". The contention I had on the time, is that she tried to release me after only 15-20 minute sessions, but continued to charge my insurance company for hundreds of dollars. It was evident early on, this therapist was obviously not enthused about her job and it showed. If someone else walked by, i was quickly abandoned and/or her attention diverted. Even though progress had been made, she eventually was pawning me off to a sports masseuse. I have nothing against going for a massage, and in fact began working them in to coincide with my treatment, but in one breath the therapist was telling me I could eventually be pain free but it would take time; yet in the same sentence telling me I need to learn how to "manage the pain" & therapy was over!! Are you kidding me??? I understand after a certain period of treatment, there is a re-evaluation. The problem here is that she was cutting me loose before I was healed. It's not that I am trying to be my own dr., and i may have respected her professional opinion, had she wanted to listen or take into consideration my past personal experience's. When I tried to make additional appointments, she had the office secretary call me to cancel them, and was then provided the excuse Katie was concerned with my insurance and that I may be charged for the appointments based on her notes. Apparently her notes do not include the comments made by the patient. I have excellent insurance and it covered past treatments in full, with no problem. I now will need to go to another PT office, with the same insurance, to finish the job the way it should be.

Over the years, I've seen countless doctors, specialists, and pain clinics. I've had just about every injection you can imagine. What stood out to me before I even met her was that multiple doctors, all from different buildings and institutions, independently told me the same thing, "If anyone can help you, it's her." That alone says everything. From the moment I met Dr. O'Neill at Spaulding in Braintree, I felt something I haven't felt in a very long time... I truly felt seen. She didn't rush me. She didn't talk over me. She didn't treat me like a chart, a case, or a number. She treated me like a human being who has been carrying pain for a very long time. Her empathy was immediate and genuine. She spoke to me gently, listened fully, and truly validated everything I've been experiencing for years. The injections themselves were unlike anything I've ever had, and that's saying a lot. (I've had hundred maybe even thousands of injections over the years) She was able to inject in places no other doctor has ever addressed, areas I didn't even realize could be treated because no one else had the experience or confidence to go there. I felt relief right away, and in the days following I've noticed slow, meaningful progress, the kind of progress that brings real hope. But more than the physical relief, what has stayed with me is knowing that she truly cares. I can tell that no matter what, she will do everything in her power to help me. That kind of care is rare. After a decade of feeling dismissed, minimized, or overlooked, she made me feel like a person again. I now completely understand why she's talked about the way she is, why doctors across New England know her name, and why she's the one they send their hardest cases to. One visit was enough to see it clearly. Carina O'Neill is extraordinary. Without question, Carina O'Neill has put Spaulding Rehabilitation in Braintree on the map. I am beyond grateful I found my way to her, and for the first time in years, I feel hopeful.

When I called to schedule my initial appointment, this was the service that I requested. After being booked the first appointment and paying my copay ($70), I was told that the physical therapist they scheduled me with did not perform dry needling and that I would need to follow-up with another PT. In addition to that, I was told that they cannot bill insurance for dry needling and is $100 out of pocket per visit. None of this information was communicated to me on the phone before I made the appointment, otherwise I would have tried other places that will bill insurance first. After inquiring about whether I could at least get my $70 copay back for the incorrect visit, this was refused. After this experience, I told them to discharge me as a patient. If I can't trust them to even book me the correct appointment, I will not be trusting them as an alleged health care provider.
