Do not use. Don't do it. This company does not do good work and utilizes bait and switch techniques to bring there shabby work up to code. Customer service reps are rude. Will hang up on you. They will schedule appointments and cancel, multi times. If you use do not sign the paperwork. The technician will write on paperwork after the fact that you agreed to pay 250. Dollars if it does not pass code. So the first visit they will make it so it does not pass code. This is so they can charge you more to bring it up to code. Simply Home Depot is running a scam with their preferred plumber. Again DO NOT USE no matter what. We are going to have to get a lawyer involved to get satisfaction. read more

Went thru Home Depot and was referred to Delta as their sub contractor. Once I talked to to the customer service lady on the phone who setup my appointment for a few days later. I made sure to tell her that the water heater was in a crawl space and needed a low boy water heater. I received the work order via email and noticed they had me listed with a 48 inch water heater which wouldn't fit in my crawl space I need one that's about 32 inches. I emailed and called to inform them. No response. So the techs show up and I show them where the water heater is going and that I called to them let them know the day before so the techs know what equipment to bring. The techs we're very nice and I felt bad because they looked frustrated since they had spent two hours prior to arriving getting the equipment for the job and would not be paid for that job. They tried getting thru to customer service with no success. They told me that would have customer service call me once they got thru. About an hour after they left customer service called to inform me that they would call me when they found the correct water heater. I'm yet to hear from them and that was 2 weeks ago. Ridiculous!!! I already called and had someone else install my water heater. DO NOT go thru these guys. They suck!!! read more

I was a loyal Home Depot customer but after the nightmare of purchasing a hot water heater and having to deal with their only plumbing contractor Delta Mechanical I will switch to Lowes. DO NOT USE DELTA MECHANICAL read more

So, I'm going to leave this review because of all the bad reviews I saw. I was skeptical, and I called their customer service about it before I signed anything. The deal that they offered was too good not to take a chance on. Basically, I could get any of 4 Water heater options (Home Depot, Rheem) and the install .. all inclusive (pan, new ball valve, new gas shut off, permit, etc.) for $895.00 on top of the cost of the heater. I had many other quotes. they started at $1600 for a base model, and went all the way up into the $3000s for a top model with 12yr warranty. Well, through HD and Delta, I got the best model offered, an EnergyStar (so I can get a utility rebate), wifi, 50 gal, with all the best efficiency .... for just $1430. I was even discounted for the valves I didn't need. Other plumbers kept telling me all this stuff I needed, but they were scamming me by putting in a city/county that wasn't mine (there is overlap and I told them I'm in DENVER!!). I haven't had any issues. They showed up within the window and finished promptly. I watched the guy do the work. I just can't complain. The only companies that quoted me better rates was Lowes, but they wouldn't get the heater I wanted for weeks out. Home depot wouldn't match Lowes specifically because they said the fine print always says "this is not an actual quote". Such is life. Give them a chance. Ask lots of questions. Get your assurances, and give them a shot. I think most things can be avoided. read more

The most awful service! Guy shows up, first thing he says is "let me tell you why I can't install your water heater", proceeds to list a whole bunch of things that "needed" to be done before he could install. Tried to add on other expenses and upgrade after I was quoted $1295. Canceled install right then and there! read more

Awful service!!!! Arranged for faucet install though Home Depot. Home Depot told me Delta would contact me within 2 days. They did not. After being on hold for 30 min. after I called them, we arranged a 2 hour window for install. 45 minutes before this window, they called me to tell me they couldn't make it. Arranged for another 2 hour window on a different day. After this window expired, never heard from them, I called and was a on hold for a full thirty minutes, the rep said she couldn't get ahold of the installer. 20 minutes later she called and said his truck had broken and he couldn't do it. When I asked if I could have a specific time, not a window, for the next attempt, I was told not. I will not use!!! Very, very poor service, do not use!!! read more

This is hands down the worst company I have ever dealt with. The only reason I gave them 1 star is because there is no option for negative stars. As a few other reviews have mentioned, they don't answer their phones. Even their installer was on hold with them for over 20 minutes when he called them from my house. They cancelled on me 3 times and then completely no showed on me once. When I called for the "no-show", I was on hold for over an hour before I finally hung up. They never did call back until Home Depot had to call and get on their case. After 3 weeks of dealing with this, they finally showed up and their installer was completely rude. There was an issue with an incorrect PO order and he refused to speak to the Home Depot rep I contacted. Finally after nearly an hour of trying to get the correct install order, he got to work. Do not ever use this company! They are horrible and completely unapologetic about their pathetic customer service. I hope Home Depot fires them! read more

Unfortunately my encounter was not good with this subcontractor for Home Depot. I found decent prices on the HD site, and saw that they offered same day install. So I called the number and was directed to Delta Mechanical, the preferred and recommended installer for Home Depot! 1. Installer was late by over 1 hour. Never got a call from installer, I had to call to confirm he was even going to show up. I would be understanding if they were to call and say that they were running late. 2. Stole my copper pressure relief outflow pipe, left bent plastic one directing flow OUTSIDE of the drip pan. Really, the plastic pvc pipe was not even pointing inside the pan! But my copper one was nice and straight, worth some coin too I guess. 3. Did not cover anything regarding the product or install, do I have a warranty of any kind? His parting words "one hour, no shower". Hey what about a final inspection with the homeowner and a quick rundown on how to maintain and operate it? 4. Did not clean up after himself after leaving debris from old water heater removal up and down stairs, instead he asked me to do it using my vacuum. Customer Satisfaction Survey question "Did the installer clean up after himself?" resounding NO, also see next complaint. 5. Flux and solder was left all over my floor from expansion tank install. That could have been an easy point! 6. Was never shown permit. Only got confirmation of one by email after I complained to Delta Mechanical customer service. This actually may be normal timing-wise... but when I asked the installer, his comment was (paraphrase) "don't worry about it, they rarely actually show up", odd answer. 7. Other PVC plumbing from the A/C unit using the same plumbing drain was not properly moved and re-routed, but rather pushed over forcibly by water heater drip pan, which I later fixed myself. The experience could have easily been a 4 with very little effort on the installers part!! Seriously this is a horrible subcontractor. At the time of this writing, Yelp gives 2/5... Google gives 1/5 star. I think the writing is on the wall. read more

Hours later, after I had spoken with Home Depot Appliance Mgr, Matt two times did Delta Mechanical rep, Sharisha call me back. Sharisha said they might be able to send an installer back out around 5p-7p or the next day. I told her that they could either honor their stated guarantee of same day, or cancel the order, and I would find someone else. At 7:30p the original installer, Peter, returned to my house. Peter got right to work and two hours later had completed the installation. Ironically, the very same vent tube that modifications to ensure code compliance that were too time consuming to complete, had to be done anyway to work with the shorter water heater. And Peter completed the job to include the required expansion tank in just two hours. It's really a shame his short sighted bosses were more concerned with maximizing revenue, than with honoring their companies promises. I had to leave for my night shift before Peter was finished. So I still got no sleep and no shower before work. Thanks Delta Mechanical. Let Customer Choice correct this problem and put Delta Mechanical out of business. Peter, you would do better on your own. read more

This is Home Depot's contractor and I think they need to find someone else immediately! My Water heater went out and I called Home Depot because they offered the lowest prices. Unfortunately I guess you get what you pay for. My heater is in a crawl space which I mentioned on the initial phone call, when the first tech came out he said that the work was too big no one told him it was in a crawl space and he left without doing anything and without offering a solution. I had to reschedule. The next tech came almost an hour later than the two hour time window, without any notice from the company. They were rude, unprofessional and in a hurry. They left many of the old parts littered on the floor and left their trash in my house. Also we converted from gas to electric and instead of capping the flue pipe they just folded it in on itself and put a screw in it. The water heater has not worked properly since they installed it. Every time I have called I am put on hold for an average of thirty minutes. They scheduled an appointment to come trouble shoot and once again the tech said there was nothing he could do for me and he left. He was also very rude and talked to me as if I were a child. I would recommend spending the extra money and going with a different company. Only gave one star because it wouldn't let me give zero. read more

Had Water heater installed from Delta after purchasing at Home Depot. The installer had a 2-6pm window and showed up at 5:59pm to which it was clear he was rushing. He mentioned he would need help removing the water heater and softener in the middle of job because his shop vac is broke. This process got water all over my carpet etc. He attempted to try and clean up with a hand full of shop towels. Sloppy, unprofessional and rushed. The next day I have crusty salt water stains everywhere including carpet, through front yard and huge spot in front of house where he let everything drain. My water pressure and wait time for hot water is worse than the 20 year old setup. I DON'T RECOMMEND read more

We made arrangements through Home Depot for Delta Mechanical to install a new reverse osmosis system to replace an old one. I bought the new system at Home Depot. No new drilling and routing of tubing was necessary. The old system and all tubing were easily accessable. I had discussed this with a person named Tom through Home Depot, who priced the job at $189. I made it clear to Tom that I wanted to replace all tubing and we agreed on the price. A person named Nosko came to our house to do the installation. He seemed angry when he arrived. I showed him the old system, which is in the basement as I had discussed with Tom. He made a few phone calls to confirm the price, which he agreed to. When I said that was to include new tubing, he said no. He did not tell me another price at that time. He left, still angry. I called Home Depot about this. I received a return call and the price had magically increased to $350. I returned the system to Home Depot and started over with another company. That company's employees were very business like. Delta Mechanical is a new low for customer service in my experience. read more

Zero stars if I could. Complete disaster. I cannot believe that a reputable organization like Home Depot would contract with a company as incompetent as Delta. Complete and utter incompetence is all I can bare to share. And we are not talking about a massive plumbing job. This is a simple bathroom pedestal sink removal and vanity install. Evidently that is far too complex for them. I would never trust this company again. And I'm struggling with the fact that Home Depot trusts them as contractors. read more

This is what I am most upset with. When I went to Home Depot at 9:30 am to get a hot water heater I purchased it with the assumption (as the sign states in the store) that it would be installed the same day. The install was scheduled for 12-2pm. I received a call from one of your reps that told me that they had a scheduling error and couldn't make it out. That was unacceptable to me so it was rescheduled for 4-6 pm. I took time off work to make the first appointment and my wife had to take time off to make the second appointment. When I arrived at home just before 6pm and the installer hadn't shown I contacted your company. They stated that they couldn't make it out and it will have to be tomorrow. I didn't want that since we had already taken time off work to get it done. After a bit of back and forth they finally got an installer to the house at 7:30. I was also promised compensation for the inconvenience. The compensation that was promised never happened. Shortly after I contacted the store manager at Home Depot and complained. They had Delta contact me and once again I was promised that a manager would contact me to give me compensation. Again that never happened. I then contacted Delta to schedule the inspection and was told that I needed to schedule it myself. Once I contacted the building department they told me that Delta needs to schedule it. So now I waited. I talked to a rep this morning to schedule the inspection and was again told they would work on the compensation and that I would be contacted so again I wait for this to happen. I am very disappointed with the service and competence of your company! read more

Terrible service. Went to Home Depot to buy hot water heater and was told Delta would install it. First guy who showed up did not speak very good English and stood and looked a long time then said it looked like this would be a difficult installation and need to have gas lines relocated. Said he would come back next day with parts but got a call from dispatch saying something else. I said cancel order. Got a customer service rep who said they would discount the installation if I didn't cancel . ..they sent another installer. She seemed OK but again talked about having to move gas lines, etc. she got another very expensive quote....I cancelled the order. Meanwhile went to another company. They did the estimate and installation in 2 days. No moving gas lines, etc. said it was an easy and straightforward installation. I would NEVER recommend Delta. Awful. read more

This business get zero stars. I agree with all of the bad reviews. Looks like their history has once again repeated itself. I thought that the Home Depot / site estimate was high anyway , but they were coming out the day the hot water heater quit working so I would not complain too much. Then when the installer looked at the install he claimed to bring to code would require 4' of 4" ducting work all for an additional $250.00. I told him to leave my house and don't do any work. So far no charge to my credit card. read more

Delta is the worst, long story short. Hired thru Home Depot, scheduled two weeks in advance.the work to be done is not my primary residence. (2hr drive,a fact I told Delta) on the scheduled date they did not show up, was told this only after calling them after the scheduled arrival time was coming to an end. was told I would have to reschedule. this is not a fun process 30 min hold times. schedulers will not call you back, finally rescheduled drove again to other residence, did not show again. these people are the worst contractors on the planet stay away , far far away. do not let Home Depot suck you in, they are no help what so ever when things go wrong. read more

Horrible service from Delta Mechanical. The customer service has no idea what they are doing and they are not upfront about anything. Way overcharged to have a hot water heater put in. Didn't bring it to code and wanted to charge an additional $300 to put less than five feet of pipe in to supposedly bring to code. Two weeks to get city paid in order to get the permit so that an inspection can be done and then found out from the inspector that the bigger pipe isn't even needed. Thank God I didn't pay the extra money and waste more time with them!! Don't use them ever!!!!! read more

Cannot recommend. Home Depot has lost a customer forever due to this bad experience with their preferred pulmbing company.. Hot water heater was replaced but I was told needed upgraded duct work.. an additional $320. I would not be charged until the entire job was completed. No one called to scheduled the duct upgrade and I was charged for it. I called to schedule the work and when their plumber showed up he said I didn't need an upgrade and never should have been charged for the work. Refund was promised in 3-5 business days, When that didn't happen, I called Delta plumbing and customer service said there was a glitch on their end and they would get it taken care of and to given them another 3-5 business days for my refund. That didn't happen, so I contacted my credit card company to deny payment for the $320 overcharge. It is fraud to charge customers for work that is not done. Not to mention all the hassle this created, read more

Easily the worst customer service imaginable. I ordered a water heater from Home Depot, to be delivered yesterday (Friday), 8 - 10 am window. The installer didn't show till 11 (I had to call to find out what was going on--no courtesy call to update me), and said the water heater wouldn't fit and "the office" would call me to reschedule. After waiting 90 minutes, I called them to find out what was going on. Devin found me a water heater that would fit, apologized for my three-hour wait, gave me a service discount, and scheduled a delivery for this morning 10 - noon. (My total charge was going to be $1414.) When no one had shown or called by 11:50 this morning, I called Home Depot AGAIN (wondering when they would take a restraining order out, since I was apparently acting like a stalker for wanting basic customer service). After waiting a solid 15 minutes on hold, I was put through, and when I explained the situation and gave my address, the dispatcher informed me there was no record of yesterday's replacement order and I wasn't even on the schedule for the day. She then promised to see if there was even an available heater for me, and after a few more minutes gave me the joyous news that there was one that could fit and be installed Monday, for a mere total charge of (wait for it) $2200 plus change (this included another small discount for poor service). I politely declined to be gouged and hung up. So, after forty-eight hours of no hot water and five active hours of waiting for service/calling like a stalker, my choice was either a) still no hot water for another 48 hours or b) get the price almost doubled, with no guarantee that people will actually, you know, show up and do the job. Cold water has never looked so good. Am cross-posting this to Home Depot, because the myriad of terrible reviews on this website make it clear that Home Depot should really choose better service providers. I know I am. read more

AVOID this company at all costs! Home Depot contract with them to install their hot water heaters, and it has been a nightmare dealing with them. We helped our daughter pay for the heater & installation through Home Depot. They installed the hot water heater Dec 7th. They charged $300 + more than she was quoted ($1664) She never received an itemized receipt, which she asked for over and over. Inspector sent them a correction notice on Jan 4th. Despite many calls to schedule the correction and the itemized receipt, no one answered the phone or returned messages. Only when we got the manager of Home Depot involved, did they do the correction Feb 1st. Never received the itemized receipt. Hot water heater stopped working the next day!!!! What a nightmare. Delta finally sent an itemized receipt after we complained to the manager of Home Depot again. They charged $150 for a part which the technician who installed the heater told my daughter she already had! "Oh, it's a good thing you already have this "Y" vent, or you'd have to pay extra for one." A repairman came out today to fix the problem. We'll see if it works. Save yourself the HEADACHE and expense and avoid Delta. read more

Bought a new water heater at Home Depot. This was scheduled to be installed on Friday 10/17/15 between 2-4pm. I called Delta Mechanical at 4pm because I had heard nothing, they said the tech was picking up the water heater & was on his way. Then nothing after that. By 7pm another rep called & said they could not make it that day & offered a pitiful discount to reschedule it for the next day. And I then had to argue with them to make it the First install on Saturday 10/17. On Saturday the tech did show up on time but the unit was wrong so again it was pushed back to between 2-4pm. I never heard another word from them & then the tech Finally showed up at almost 5pm to do the install. Then he did not have all the parts he needed so he had to stop & go back to the store so the job was not completed until after 8pm Saturday night. It was beyond frustrating & ridiculous that I literally was held hostage by Delta Mechanical for 2 full days for a simple water heater installation, ruined my whole weekend. I would recommend the product but never the installation company. As a result, I will never purchase from Home Depot requiring an installation ever again. Go to Lowe's! read more
