(4.75 Stars) Horrible pun alert . . . most people buy their glasses "blindly." Between…read moreunnecessary lens enhancements, absurdly overpriced faux designer frames and other miscellaneous nonsense, this is an industry which hardly inspires confidence. Perhaps not as bad as buying household furniture or insurance, the wise are nonetheless advised to count their fingers after shaking hands. This office staff is very transparent regarding the "dirty little secrets" of their trade. Until the money is spent, few people know that glasses from reputable manufacturers are guaranteed for a year. Quality lens grinding labs also offer one free "rework" for their product. These assurances cost the dispensing optometrist nothing, yet most charge for their use. Not only does Dr. Arnold have the integrity to not gouge her customers, she carries attractive glasses in all price ranges, and will adjust any glasses obtained from her for a year, also free of charge. I'm happy to report that I experienced none of the negatives in my visits to Dr. Arnold's offices. The doctor's demeanor is calming, patient, positive, relaxed and professional. Further, her recommendation of fundus photography not only avoided the need for pupil dilation, it provided an interesting and interactive view of my retina. The optional process absolutely painless, and was covered by my health insurance. Dr. Arnold is respectful of her patients (never demeaning) and their time, and despite the fact that there were three other patients when I arrived (10 minutes early), nobody was kept waiting. The enthusiasm and positive outlook of the staff seemed to be contagious; patients were mingling as though they each had a cocktail in their hand! I live in the immediate neighborhood, and walked to her offices, so I wouldn't have direct knowledge of parking. I suspect that there is a parking lot behind the building, available parking on the residential side streets and a large (and always empty) retail parking lot a block away. The offices are clean, bright, well organized and welcoming. Vanessa, the office receptionist is always positive, friendly and helpful. She communicates very well, whether face-to-face or by phone. The unsung star of the office, however, is Tuli. Tuli doubles as both office manager and frame stylist; her knowledge of frames is encyclopedic. She has actually collected glasses frames as a hobby for years, and has over 260 pairs in her collection. When this knowledge is pressed into the service of Dr. Arnold's patients, Tuli can make very good recommendations-- and adjust those recommendations to patient preference-- as second nature. Even to this steadfast believer in "function over form," selecting both everyday and prescription sunglasses was a pleasure. Only a minor snafu in coordinating a pickup of both pairs of glasses in the same visit separates this experience from perfection. My suspicion is that this minor glitch might not have even been their doing. I am very pleased with both the services and products of Dr. Arnold and her staff, and recommend them highly.

Turning down the online registration and appointment confirmation option due to standard privacy concerns, I didn't mind filling out two pages of the standard medical forms for my child on our first visit. We arrived early and listened to holiday tunes being piped into the waiting room, although the kid did not care much for the Ray-Ban promotional video on a loop. (It was a visually engaging pinball scene, but it was quite short and lacking in compelling content.) Our appointment went smoothly and on time, with the front desk staff being pleasant and courteous. Cardona herself was just lovely and was quite nurturing with her new young patient, finding slight astigmatism and just a touch of myopia (near-sightedness). However, she did not recommend getting glasses for my beloved offspring, suggesting instead that we incorporate screen breaks from our bane of online schooling every 20 minutes for at least 20 seconds. It's an excellent idea, and one I wish the school district had thought to incorporate into its teaching guidance amid our COVID-19 crisis. I was relieved to dodge the costs of new eyeglasses for the time being and encouraged to take more screen breaks myself. Paying out of pocket, the eye exam, which did not include (as far as I know) a glaucoma screening, cost me $135. They magically cannot locate my previous scans or the other doctor's notes and he acts like I'm making it up? why would I be here for this appointment if I wasn't told to be here? (The doctors? Friedlich & Haberman are in the same office, same staff) The previous scan looked COMPLETELY different. Dr. Haberman , the doctor I saw 2 weeks prior, pointed out on my prior visit exactly where the issue was on the original scans but on the new scan those areas were not there. I am someone with medical literacy, and I know my eye balls didn't just regenerate in two weeks. They failed to find my scans from TWO WEEKS AGO and the front desk and techs act like I'm being a Karen, rather than acknowledging that they either have made several serious errors or intentionally got me to book this specialist appointment under false pretenses to get more money. THIS OFFICE MADE ME BELIEVE FOR WEEKS THAT I HAD AN IRREVOCABLE EYE CONDITION THAT THERE IS NO EVIDENCE FOR NOW. Most of the folks that attend this office are elderly and/or foreign so the office could get away with this often to get more $$. The tech in the room with me kept asking what my last appointment date was even though I repeatedly told her I could not see my phone calendar cuz my eyes were dilated and she refused to do her job and ask the from desk since she was unable to find the scans on my file. Beyond this blatant HIPPA violation for whomevers eye scans I did see, there was shuffling patients back and forth constantly between exam rooms and waiting rooms. I received a random check in the mail after paying with cash because they over charged me. Some people cannot afford a consistent overcharging and need the money to live but this office cannot get there billing system aligned enough to care about patient needs.This was one of the most bizarre and unprofessional doctors office experiences I have ever had. I would not recommend this office to any one. When they finally returned my call, they let me know they had been closed and that their hours on the website are not accurate (they are open fewer hrs than what is on the site). It took weeks to get an appointment, despite me being flexible. Then, when I showed up for the appointment, I had to stand there for eight minutes just waiting for anyone to greet me at the desk. I coughed, jingled my keys, shouted hello, walked to the back... the only thing that got anyone to recognize me there was me calling them. Then, they had the audacity to actually tell me I was not standing there when I had been. Finally, they couldn't even find my old records on their system and had me entered as a new patient with no history. Too scattered, too rude, not worth it.
