We are in town for the race Sunday March 17,2024. We got on our Harley to find some good BBQ. Our search brought us to DB and we were amazed; first of all with the gal that helped us decide what to eat. Secondly the delicious tray of food that was presented, a 5 meat sampler , ribs,sausage,burnt ends,wings and of course brisket. Oh and an added treat to ourselves first time ever..Alligator. The food tasted good, but the taste was outweighed by the overly high prices and the poor customer service. We paid almost $50 for two meals and I was given 2 hushpuppies as a side which I found to be a rip off since my husband got a whole plate of fries for his side. And when I asked about this, I was quickly dismissed and blamed for not ordering correctly rather than being given any sort of reconciliation. So I would not recommend this place because, despite their food tasting ok, their prices and customer service were so bad that it ruined the experience altogether. read more

Small, fun ambiance with amazing food and staff! We drove in for the day to find good BBQ; this place did the job. I had the Nachos. He had the burnt tips, collard greens and cole slaw. Was not impressed. They were out of stuff. We ordered the burnt ends and they informed us they were out while delivering our meal. They were an appetizer and said they have one of us an extra piece of brisket. The burnt ends was a meal price and adding a brisket strip is not even close. Then came out asked if we order greens. We were antiquing in Bristol and saw this place. We were excited that Tuesday was Cajun day! They had a full menu of great options. They unfortunately were out of oysters, so go early if you are going! I had the popcorn crawfish with fried okra and baked beans. My wife got the fried catfish with slaw and fries. Everything was excellent! The topper was having one dollar PBR drafts. We had not had a PBR in a very long time, but enjoyed them. The fries were like steak fries but with a twist (see photo). The comeback sauce was an excellent compliment to all the food. I really enjoyed the baked beans, especially after having dry baked beans the night before, these were just right! They have a fabulous bbq menu as well. BBQ sauces are on the table. We will definitely be back! read more

Definitely found this disappointing I'm sad to say. The meats (I had both pulled chicken and pork) barely had any smoke to them, they have lemonade on the menu but the checkout lady acted like we were nuts trying to order it, and the collards I had were sandy (not washed well) and served - a real watery side dish - in a cardboard container that fell apart before I was done. The okra batter was unseasoned and too much of it. Hubs did like his pimento burger and fries - especially the fries - better than I liked the BBQ, but for a BBQ place that's a bit more of a dig than a compliment I think. The sauces were pretty decent, just would have preferred tastier meat to start with. I had to drown it in sauce to get some flavor. Not awful but the good reviews had me expecting more - not to mention there's really tasty BBQ all around the area so I feel like you gotta try harder in that specialty. I'm guessing they bank on live music more than the food. I dunno, but not likely we would go back. read more

Came here last summer while vacationing in the area. We stopped in for an early dinner just off the smell walking by. The food is amazing. We were lucky enough to have the special fried pimento cheese appetizer. It was so good. We basically ordered everything on the menu from pulled pork, chicken, brisket and fall off the bone ribs. My wife doesn't normally like ribs but when I picked it up and the meat fell off she had to try it. We sat outback on what I assume is a new deck area they built and you can see all the wood and the smoker. They have a stage outback also for music and such. The staff inside was super welcoming and funny. Also the potato salad is something they should market. It's insanely good. read more

Brisket was dry and overcooked. Way too much buffalo seasoning on the corn, had to scrape off with the toast to eat. Bbq beans were good, needed bacon or chopped up bits of meat. Sauces were good all around but really nothing stood out. The best part was the "help" spraying us along with the table to clean it. Nothing says lunch like the intoxicating smell of bleach to accompany your bbq. read more

Smoked chicken wings!! I ordered Buffalo dry rub and Cajun dry rub. Off-the-charts deliciousness! Blue cheese and three small pieces of celery. Great service. Dog-friendly patio. One star off because I had to go inside to order. It would be great if they could accommodate outside orders. Maybe that's available through their website--this thought just occurred to me. We tried Delta Blues for the first time today for lunch and it was great! The staff were very friendly and helpful and had a great attitude. I got the burnt ends and brisket. The brisket was delicious and some of the best I've had. The burnt ends were very tender and moist with a little fat but still tasty. My wife got the salad which she said was very fresh. This restaurant is on state street where Virginia and Tennessee meet. How are you out of ribs and wings for the lunch rush on a holiday weekend? Then serve dry brisket in the south. The saving grace was the burger, great smoke flavor but an average fried corn side. Everyone on the table enjoyed the fries and the sausage and the pulled chicken and pork were good. He had a brisquet sandwich, I am the pulled pork. Both large as we had eaten since 9 am. So much brisquet, he took it off the bun (hidden in the picture) and ate with his fingers. Stopped here with a group of 6 teenage girls and 4 adults while passing through on the interstate. Convenient access, and the girls all loved the vibe of state street and the restaurant itself.
