First time flying Delta

12/16/25- My first time flying Delta..(thanks to my oldest for booming my flight).. Smooth process checking and my luggage ! Staff very friendly- didn't have to use the kiosk- Added my TSA number last night so she was able to print my boarding pass with the check mark.. Although it wasn't very busy at all...

I hardly fly Delta from Sacramento but this was my 2nd time. Security check to Delta airlines was a breeze and not busy at all. When boarding, I observed the staff to be friendly and getting us like any other airlines. We had assigned seating so it was a smooth boarding. Delta airlines offers complimentary water bottle, coffee, hot tea and snacks during the flight. No complimentary sodas. Overall, smooth flight!

SMF to MSP We used Delta for a work-related travel to Minnesota. The plane was on time, no delays, no aircraft maintenance issues, nor did we have to wait for the flight crew... but most importantly, we didn't lose a luggage. Flight attendants welcomed passengers during boarding and offered complimentary headset/earbuds. If you missed getting one they will come down the aisle. Free entertainment with current movies, TV shows, and Spotify playlists. Beverage and a light snack was offered. Yes, there is a power outlet to charge your cell phone on Delta Airlines. From takeoff to touchdown WiFi was free for SkyMiles® Members which was super because although I wanted to take a nap from our 3-hr+ flight I was able to catch up and crank out three reviews before landing. We were in the MAIN2 boarding group and since it was a full flight they asked for volunteers to check-in their bags for free. We took advantage of this and we got to board in a little earlier than the rest of the groups. Review #0732 updated

This is probably my favorite airline to fly with. Very organized and proactive on keeping us informed about flight status. Yes they have issues with delays and possibly cancellation as well just like any other airlines. I still take this airline over any out there (for now) . Their service amd way they treat their customers are above average. On the way back, coming home from our mini vacay here at south Florida, at FLL our flight got delayed. Actually we're on board ready to take off it the final Safety check found a leak on the ground f that caused this delay. Better safe than sorry. So many passengers rebook, we tried and only changed the connecting flight at ATL. Although tour flight kept getting put back later, they assured us that it'll go. A total of 4 hours and 25 minutes delayed time. I'm the meantime delta paid for our meal while at the airport. They really take care of their customers. At least to us.

Where is everyone???

Today is my first EVER disappointment in Delta airlines!!! I am leaving for a business trip this morning. I have been up since o dark 30 (2am) and I got to the airport the required 1 1/2-2 hours ahead. My flight boards in 50 mins and there are ZERO agents at check-in and ZERO skycaps. What's going on???? Delta I love you but I don't do this type of stress this early in the morning ‍‍‍

I have been a Delta passenger over the years and have had some good flights, and some uncomfortable flights. So I give it an average of 3 stars, being my most recent flight was just a few days ago. In my most recent flight, I started out taking my seat. Delta starts boarding the back of the plane and goes forward. However, it's still a little chaotic. They take 5-10 rows at a time, everyone lined up, so if they're in seat 22 and your in 29, just be patient and wait for someone to put their cat on luggage above safely. My issue in this particular flight was that someone decided they would take my seat. I didn't want to deal with having the seat sanitized and waiting. I just sat in her seat not wanting to deal with germs. This flight was cramped. People ate sitting next to people(which does not follow safe distancing because arm rests are shared between 2 seaters). In the future, I would appreciate if Delta is able to announce that everyone needs take their correct seat. With my connecting flight, it was much more pleasant. I got sat, mentally, next to the worst place possible. The bathroom. However, this flight felt more accommodating so it didn't really matter. The stewardess were friendly and they seemed to communicate with each other more. It looked positive. There was an open seat between the next passenger & I, so I felt safe. Both flights passed out a snack bag that contained cheese its or gold fish, with a yummy cookie, a chocolate, napkin, and a 4 ounce water bottle. Delta does have sanitizing ritual that seems safe. Everything is wiped down between flights, they showed examples of their steps of sanitizing on a TV screen before your (before my 2nd) flight. I appreciate it because it's hard to keep up with this damn covid.

My daughter loved her window seat!

On Saturday morning my daughter and I boarded our first flight. I have nothing, but good things to say about this airline, even the hand soap smelled nice, which was White Tea & Thyme! We were both given a ziplock sealed bag filled with sealed snacks and personal water bottles. The Cheez-Its were delicious, Dark Chocolate Chunk Kind Healthy Grains Bar was okay, but helped hold my daughter and I over for our next flight and the Dasani water bottle helped quench our thirst. What's great about Delta compared to other airlines we've flown are the screens provided at each seat with earbuds to watch movies, shows and even play games like Scuba Pop! Great especially if you're a parent and out of ideas to entertain your child on the flight! I would definitely recommend this airline, they follow guidelines, masks are worn by flight attendants and passengers at all times and seats are left open in between passengers to maintain social distancing. Plus if your child goes to the cockpit to meet the pilot he gives you wings, my daughter was excited about the pin as I placed it on her top and the card that talks about the aircraft. We are looking forward to flying with them again on our flight back to Sacramento on Saturday morning. Thank you Delta airlines for your courteous and accommodating staff and being right on it to make sure we arrived safe and sound! And most importantly on time! I will leave you with 1 tip, when flying remember to bring gum or ear drops for the altitude pressure during flights, I forgot and payed the price. My daughter on the other-hand experienced no issues.

How OLD is this plane?? Geez!
Diana H.

Delta sucks! Really sucks! Just look at this dinosaur they are still flying. I was the highest Frequent Flyer level (Diamond) with Delta for the past 5-6 years (maybe more) and flying with this airline 20 years. Now, after their level of service, and most importantly, their care (or care-less) for their true milage flyers had been transferred to only those with large dollar credit cards I left for another carrier and haven't been happier. Tonight I had to take Delta as a non-stop to make my visits and the difference showed as soon as I walked on. This plane is probably as old as my daughter (way over 30!) Shaking a bit just thinking about it. I used to say "I love my Delta" and now I just say, "Delta, you suck!"

I'll admit I was a little nervous going into it since it's such a change from how Southwest has always done things, but it was surprisingly smooth. Everything felt easy, like they had been doing it this way for years. And honestly, not having everyone rush to line up and grab their seat was such a nice change. We did pay for the upgrade for extra leg room, and it was 100% worth it. It made the whole flight feel more comfortable, especially for a longer travel day. One thing that stood out was the snack selection. There were so many options, from honey or salted pistachios to Oreos, ginger snap or graham cracker cinnamon cookies, and even garlic pretzel twists. Everything we tried was actually really good, which isn't always the case with airplane snacks. I also loved that the cups are now made from bamboo, which felt like a nice, more thoughtful touch. Everything on board felt really clean, and I believe we were on one of the newer 800 planes, which definitely added to the overall experience. Helpful tip: If you're on the fence, the extra leg room upgrade is worth it, and the new seating setup actually makes boarding feel way less stressful. It ended up being a much better experience than I expected, and I'd absolutely do it this way again.

But I was assigned a middle seat. With Noone at window or aisle. So I sat in my middle seat. And some guy came and sat next to me in the aisle seat, after he already had his seat in the middle. I get it. Trust me I do. But I got told even if the window seat is open I can not move to it because of how the manifest lists passengers and where they are. Sooooooo . Pick a side southwest. Disappointed

Most of my flights are always on time flying out of Sac and I did have one flight that was cancelled 50 mins before boarding and I could either be refunded or put on another flight. However, on this aircraft I was glad to see not only were the seats accomodating to everyone but they were leather lined and also had a head rest that adjusted according to your comfort. Thought of the confort of everyone during the transition of the flight and the recling position offering enough room for everyone. Had excellent and clean aircraft as well as windows to look out of. Not to mention organized aircraft safety instructions. Demonstrating proper use of each step for instruction. And also an assorted snack tray with a variety of options to accomdate each passenger. Only one person in your party needs to do it. Boarding was very slow. They kept on serving the first class section thus blocking our access. I have never been on a plane that boarded so slowly. It gave me time to use the restroom. So that was good. Take off was quick. Once in the air they announced that they are serving a complimentary breakfast sandwich. So even though Alaska has taken them over they still feed coach for free. I believe it's the only airline that still does this. So nice. The staff were really nice. We should be on time arrival . I notice the seats seem closer than before. Just like Southwest. A little tight. I remember them to be more comfortable. Times change and I know they need to make money. At least there was ample room for everyone's carry on. An added plus is that they have Starlink. Its free for all and not bad. We will see the changes Alaska does to them this summer . I did a little research and found the Megabus website with a pick up at the 65th Bus station in Sacramento with a drop off in San Francisco on Townsend between 4th and 5th street. That might be a perfect situation for those going to the Giants game as it lets off literally a few blocks from AT&T Park. We chose the 9:30am bus with a 11:30am arrival in Sn Francisco. Research noted that you cue up in line as most (but not all) seats are first come first served. We arrived 30 min ahead and were 5th and 6th in line. The bus arrived at 9:10and we were on by 9:10. Reserved seats can be purchased for an additional $1 fee as well. There are Table and front row seats for $5 or $7 more as well. Bus is clean, comfortable. We sat on the upper level, with a nice view. The only negative for me is that the bus ride is "soft". What I mean is that our bus had that Cadillac soft rolling feel and was slowly rocking up and down with every bump in the road. So for those of you that get car sick easily, you have been forewarned. Reservations are done online, and the process is incredibly easy. For $9 plus the $1 reservation fee for this trip, I found it a great deal. Plus not having to drive, free wi fi, no toll made the trip well worth it. Food is allowed on bus, and there is a restroom on board as well. I'll be back to use on the next day game for the Giants!
