    Why I Left 875,000 Miles Behind for Delta--and Never Looked Back I fly between Boston and Los Angeles once or twice a month, and I used to be a loyal American Airlines customer--with 875,000 miles to prove it. But eventually, I'd had enough. The endless "mechanicals" (always suspiciously timed around undersold flights), the feeling of being stranded without recourse, and worst of all--the overwhelming sense that many employees just didn't want to be there. United? Same story. Spirit and Frontier? They just take away your spirit. Then came Delta. From my very first Delta flight, it became clear: not all airlines are the same. With Delta, I've never been left behind. I've never encountered a grumpy team member--not even checking in at 5:30 AM in Boston. That says a lot. The planes are clean, the equipment works, and flights almost always arrive early. There's no water leaking from the ceiling vents (like I've seen on American), and the whole experience just feels like it's run by people who care. That's because Delta clearly treats its employees well--and in return, they take pride in their work. I even follow a Delta pilot on social media--@ScottRides--who shares his journey of flying for Delta, just like his father before him. That kind of loyalty and pride is rare, and it shows. Recently, I was checking in at Logan and met Holly at the Delta counter. She was the perfect example of how this airline gets it right. Friendly, efficient, upbeat--everything you'd want when you're about to take a long flight. Delta has earned my loyalty, mile by mile, flight by flight. I didn't just switch airlines--I upgraded my entire flying experience.

    Delta has become my preferred airline, surpassing United after many years. Part of it has to do with where I mostly fly out of, Atlanta and Raleigh-Durham, especially in recent years. Simply put, Delta has surpassed United and American in terms of the complete consumer experience. The two biggest examples that come to mind for me are the in-flight experience and customer service. When it comes to the in-flight experience, Delta's cabins have more comfortable seats and better entertainment options and amenities than United and American. And Delta's customer service has just been solid for me (and my wife). The only significant area where I think Delta still falls behind United is their frequent-flyer program. Delta SkyMiles vs. United MileagePlus. You still get more bang for your buck, more value per mile, with United. Since this Yelp listing for Delta is at Boston Logan International Airport (BOS), I'll describe my most recent experience flying Delta into and out of Logan. Over three months out, I purchased a roundtrip ticket for Raleigh-Durham (RDU) to Boston for $527.80. Two non-stop flights, each with a little less than two hours flight time. Scheduled arrival to Boston was 12:31pm on a Thursday and scheduled arrival to Raleigh-Durham was 2:26pm on a Sunday. I chose to sit in the same seat both ways, Seat 15C (exit row), on an Airbus A220-100. The same type of aircraft was used for both flights. I was in the "Main Cabin." My buddy booked the same flights as me, but chose "Basic Economy" and saved money. Unlike me, he wasn't able to pick his seats and ended up sitting towards the back of the plane on both flights. The flights were on time, clean, and comfortable -- all things I've come to expect from Delta over the past several years. Delta has consistently and reliably delivered, for the most part. Delta has a great media library and I was able to continue watching Yellowstone season 3 on these flights to/from Boston. In fact, about a month prior, it was on Delta flights to/from Atlanta/Los Angeles that got me started on Yellowstone, not from Peacock or TV. By the way, for price comparison purposes, my wife booked similar non-stop flights to/from BOS/RDU. Her flights were less than two weeks before mine. She booked them a little over a month out and paid $966.36 roundtrip. She was Delta Main Cabin as well, in Seats 17C and 17A. Scheduled arrival to Boston was 12:31pm on a Friday and scheduled arrival to Raleigh-Durham was 7:04pm on a Sunday. Link your Delta SkyMiles and Lyft accounts to earn SkyMiles for riding Lyft. I finally check in and get on the plane, plane was gorgeous and flight attendants for most part were very hard working. Half the people on this flight were idiots, loud, arrogant, dirty and bathrooms even after a couple hours in flight were dirty, urine on the floor, clogged up sinks. Absolutely disgusting!!!! Like a fourth world country on a top of the line plane. I will never ever fly Royal Jordanian again!!!! Would rather pay twice as much and get to Amman in 3 days then fly this airline. Rather take any other airline that go through that hell again.

The Spirit Airlines website was super easy to navigate. I got on, created my account, booked my flights, and was all set within a matter of minutes. The confirmation provided all the details for my flight and my gmail was able to pull the details and add it to my calendar. 24 hours before my flight, the check-in reminder came and the checking process was super easy. I didn't have any changes or additions so I was checked in within a minute. Arriving at the gate was vibrant as the Spirit Airlines yellow set the tone for the area. The lines were long but the staff was smiling and friendly. As it came time to board, I was a part of Group 5 which is the bulk of flyers. Though the line was about 3 gates long, the Spirit Airlines staff had an efficient process for getting us out the gate area and onto the aircraft. Of course you can't do anything about the people who hold up the line, but the Spirit Airlines gate agents even had a process for them to step to the side. Woo Hoo! Once on board, the plane is standard size, and the seats aren't as tight as I have heard. I'm 6' 3" and though I didn't have ample space, I didn't feel like I was being crushed either. The seats don't have as much cushion as some of the other airlines, however, my butt didn't start to hurt until I was 2.5hrs into my 3hr flight, so I was good. The Spirit Airlines Flight Attendants are unique in style esthetic, however, their service was industry standard and they always appeared with a smile. As you pay for everything on the flight, the process of purchasing is easy and swift. The pilot was professional and ensured we had a smooth flight into the Boston area. He kept us abreast of weather changes, altitude changes, and gave us ample time to prepare for landing. I deplaned without incident and went on about my day. My return flight to Atlanta was the same experience quality. Coming back, I did add a carry-on ($70) and it was easy to add it during my check in process. Once at Logan, the kiosk was unable to scan my boarding pass, however the ticketing attendant put in my confirmation number and I was good to go. I tagged my bag, headed to the counter, dropped it off, and was on my way to security within 3 minutes. Thank you Spirit Airlines for the safe trip and streamlined standard operating procedures. You and the staff are appreciated.

    Wish I could say zero stars …read more No chance. Got to the airport at 4am My flight 6 am got changed to 12pm, then 4:30, then 11:35.... Sat at the airport till 9, then found out the flight got cancelled at 8:45. They said oh we can get you on a flight for Monday afternoon..... cruise leaves Sunday. JetBlue no flights available. Had to go with delta only thing available was 1st class... $2908 later, we are now waiting at the airport until 4:40 pm to leave for Miami. We are going on a cruise and need to be there it's our honeymoon! Spirit offered nothing to help or assist other than we can get you there two days later.... I understand there is issue and delay and cancellation.... There's no weather no issues or problems with any other flights. Their absolute best answer was $30 for a future flight, respectfully kill yourself, that's the most pathetic service, absolutely. Long story short if you plan to do anything or fly anywhere never EVER take a flight from this company.... Terrible, horrible, worse experience ever, btw this was my first experience with spirit and the absolute last. Useless worse terrible experience they should immediately stop being a company

Then on the plane the flight attendants were so sweet. Our flight left on time. No delays and the Beef Stew dinner with roasted potatoes and string beans they served after being in the air for only an hour was fantastic. I watched a movie, drank 2 glasses of complimentary wine and slept a little with the complimentary blanket over me. Aer Lingus is definitely one of my favorite international airlines.

At the time I was promised compensation for hotel and transportation costs that were incurred while I waited 24 hours for the bag to arrive. 8 months later I'm still fighting with them. They now say they would have bought me a toothbrush, but are not liable for any other incidental costs surrounding their lack of care. The response from customer service has been glacially slow and seems to be from a bot. Any other airline would have put me up for a night and compensated me for the transportation cost and lost lodging. Not Aer Lingus. Stay away from this airline.

This is a unique service offered only on the A321T and offered only from Boston to LAX, JFK to LAX, and JFK to SFO and JFK to SNA. The A321T is uniquely configured with Flagship First, Flagship Business, and economy. The amenities and seating in the premium cabins is much more akin to a widebody aircraft with lie-flat seating offered in first and business and seatback screens throughout the aircraft. Sadly, these aircraft will soon be retired as AA moves toward eliminating Flagship First systemwide. The seating in first is 1-1 which offers a lot of privacy. The seatback screen is large and high definition with a wide selection of movies and other entertainment options. Noise cancelling B&O headsets are also distributed. The meal service in first is enhanced versus what is offered in business including higher end touches on the meal tray like individual salt and pepper shakers and a metal napkin holder. There is also actual champagne in first versus prosecco in business. There is also a soup course in first which is not offered in business. The flight attendant was great and offered an attentive and premium service. Baked on board cookies are also offered prior to arrival. Overall, this was a great transcon flight on AA. Sadly, it's the exception and not the rule as service and amenities on other AA flights leaves a lot to be desired.

Half the people on this flight were idiots, loud, arrogant, dirty and bathrooms even after a couple hours in flight were dirty, urine on the floor, clogged up sinks. Absolutely disgusting!!!! Like a fourth world country on a top of the line plane. I will never ever fly Royal Jordanian again!!!! Would rather pay twice as much and get to Amman in 3 days then fly this airline. Rather take any other airline that go through that hell again..

That changed with Royal Jordanian. I paid $140 for two seats that were clearly shown as a two seat row. When my wife and I boarded, we discovered the row actually had three seats. No one pays extra for a middle seat -- ever. My seat number was k6 and the seat has no cushion whatsoever, I had to stack pillows and blanket to prevent back pain Most incompetent company I've had to deal with. Called someone in Detroit to get information about the plane and flight, he gives me another number to call I believe it was in Chicago. I call that number, another person tells me we don't handle this, you have to call another number. Called that number, that person gave me the original Detroit number. I called Detroit back, another person answers and gives me the information I was asking to begin with. Not done yet. I finally check in and get on the plane, plane was gorgeous and flight attendants for most part were very hard working.
