Inside the Delta Sky Club lounge at Orlando International Airport (MCO). Bloody Mary from the bar.

We flew Delta roundtrip for our recent trip from Atlanta to Orlando. Delta has been our preferred airline for many years now. They've rarely let us down in recent years and we had no issues on this trip. We flew "Main Cabin" roundtrip for $332.95 total per person (base fare plus taxes, fees, and other charges), so $665.90 for the two of us. However, we got a $200 "airline fee credit" as a benefit of the American Express Platinum Card, so that saved us money. The benefit can be used once per calendar year. Delta Main Cabin is one step up from the lowest level, "Basic Economy." The advantages to booking Main Cabin are: 1. No change fees. 2. You get full eCredit if you have to cancel. 3. You get to pick your seat when booking at no additional cost. 4. You earn SkyMiles and Medallion Qualification Dollars (MQDs, for status). We boarded in Zone 5 both ways. On Delta, there are eight boarding zones. Main Cabin normally boards in Zone 6, but we boarded in Zone 5 because all American Express card members get to board in Zone 5. Both flights departed and arrived on time or early. Outbound, from Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport (ATL) to Orlando International Airport (MCO), we departed the gate at ATL at 12:40 PM EST and arrived at the gate at MCO at 2:18 PM EST -- on time. Total travel time, including taxi time, was 1 hour 38 minutes. This was on an ordinary Thursday. We flew on a Boeing 757-200 (twin-jet) and sat in Row 33. Inbound, from MCO to ATL, we departed the gate at MCO at 12:52 PM EST and arrived at the gate at ATL at 2:19 PM EST -- 16 minutes early. Total travel time, including taxi time, was 1 hour 27 minutes. This was on an ordinary Tuesday. Again, we flew on a Boeing 757-200 and sat in Row 33. Outbound, I enjoyed the movie Deadpool & Wolverine (2024). I recommend it. It's funny and filled with Easter eggs. Inbound, I slept because I was sick. In general, the in-flight snacks, drinks, entertainment, and service were good, a standard we've come to expect from Delta. Before our flight back to Atlanta, we spent most of our time at MCO inside the Delta Sky Club. At MCO, there's only one Sky Club. It's located in Airside 4 near Gate 71. Airside 4 is the terminal with Gates 70-99. You can read my review of the MCO Sky Club here: https://www.yelp.com/biz/delta-sky-club-mco-orlando

Suitcase with wheel broken by Delta Airlines baggage handler
    Thomas T.

I had no issues with the flight, on 9/10, until I claimed my bag and two of the wheels were broken. I reported the damage and received the claim number. I declined their replacement bag offer and advised the baggage claim representative I would buy my own replacement. I received an email on 10/13/2024 advising I would receive a follow up email with instructions on how to claim my replacement bag. That email never came and the previous email neither listed a deadline to respond nor advised the case would be closed since they offered me a replacement bag. I submitted proof of purchase online around 11/23. When I had not received reimbursement by 12/13, I contacted the baggage department via chat. It was only then I learned the case had been closed on 10/13. I did not receive an answer as to what happened to the case when I submitted proof of purchase. As instructed, I replied to the 10/13 email on 12/13. Now a week later, no response from the case manager and chatting with the baggage team again trying to find out when I may expect the reimbursement check. I did advise the agent we are now outside of the "3 business days" window the chat not states claims can take. Now I remember why I don't fly Delta.

The sandwich was delicious not because I had 3-hr delay. Starbucks coffee while flying with Delta, anyone?

My flight from MCO to LAX on 22 Dec 24 was 3 hours delayed, but I want to give the Delta Airlines staff, ground and flight, this 5-starc review. The delays were caused by bad weather elsewhere, and the previous was late, creating a domino effect. But the airlines communicated with us well enough. We received 8 different messages to keep us with status updates. The crew of our flight, probably pulled in at last minutes with one from Los Angeles, another from Orlando, and else, to make it happen, and with smiles. I would rather paying more to fly with Delta, noticing the improvement in their services lately. Thank you.

Fun place to be at 4 am. zzzz

I can usually count on Delta for travel in the states. They're okay. I don't really have any loyalty to any airline, and I will take the best deal a lot of the time. This usually has me on a Delta flight. In December 2022 I had a total of four Delta flights, two to get me to Orlando (SMF to ATL, ATL to MCO), and two to get me back to Sacramento (MCO to LAX, LAX to SMF). I've had good luck in the past with direct flights, but this time I followed the deals to layover land. Sometimes they do annoying things to those of us who buy basic tickets, like on my flight back to CA from Orlando I couldn't get my seat assigned at online check in. I had to stand in line at the desk at the gate (once a gate was actually decided on, good thing I arrive more early than necessary each time I fly) to receive my seat assignment. I think it was a glitch of some kind with their system, and I did get an aisle seat, so I was satisfied. The in flight comp snack situation is nice. Would be nice if they offered a comp meal for a four hour flight, but that will cost you. They had nuts, sun chips, biscoff cookies, and granola bars to choose from, with a choice of non alcy drinkie. Ginger Ale for whatever reason has been my plane bevvy choice since I was a kid. They also offered coffee and water during the four hour flight. They've got the booze if you've got the $. Each seat back had a personal movie screen attached and the touch screen usually worked well. I had one flight on the way to Orlando from Atlanta where it wasn't working, boo. I caught up on some movies I never got around to watching. Imitation Game on the way (bad choice, started crying then tried to watch an episode of The Office to cheer me up and had to stop because I was laughing too loud and can't be that person on the plane), and Theory of Everything on the way back. And 2005 Pride & Prejudice for comfort, don't ask me how many times I've seen that. Even with my book and switch in my bag, it was nice to have the option of movies, games, tv shows, and even live tv! I could watch my Portugal National Team lose right there in the plane! Happy World Cup 2022! So, to sum up, Delta gets a four star for recent experiences and I don't feel like reviewing more than one airline page. If you're going to nitpick, there's plenty, but I was taken care of where it was important. There were pretty bad delays in Atlanta, but that's not anyone's fault. The other three flights were fine. I get what I pay for. Except for when it comes to Spirit, yikes. Before I go, I will mention also that they sometimes send you a text or email offering free bag check if it's going to be a full flight. NO way in heck I was doing that on the way with wedding stuff in my carry on, but on the way back sure, I let them do it, and had no issues. Normally, it costs to check a bag, of course. I like to not unless I'm headed overseas. See you soon Delta. p.s. Delta terminal makeover in LAX looks nice. Wow. First time I've ever been through LAX without one complaint. Unless you count the Dodger imagery.

I wish I flew Delta more. I have no status and loyalty points with Delta, so I only fly them when they're the best option. They have some pretty good direct flight options to cities where my usual airlines are either too expensive or have a connection. I absolutely love the fact that you can use points to "upgrade" to comfort plus from normal coach (or whatever it's called these days). I'll probably never fly Delta enough to earn a free ticket (especially now that those are going up in the number of miles needed). I wish AA did that. Delta makes it easier. They DO serve alcohol which is a plus over some other airlines, although I think that's coming back soon to others. Their Snacks are not much to write home about, even in Comfort+. They could do a better job there.

I took a flight down to FL with the kids to visit relatives. The flight left on time and arrived on time, which is great. HOWEVER, with Delta Variant of COVID surging, I was concerned about Delta Airlines social distancing policies (or lack thereof). The flight was FULLY BOOKED. Forget 6 ft of separation, the seats are packed like sardines. The person next to me had the sniffles, which I pray is just allergies. Thankfully mask wearing is enforced. There is a sign at the boarding gate: "your aircraft has been sanitized and inspected" that is supposed to re-assure you, but I wonder what does that mean? Are they steam cleaning every seat and wiping down every surface? What is good but troubling at the same time is that they provide passengers with a packet of Purell...why is this necessary if the plane has been "sanitized and inspected" already?

    Jason B.

Gold didn't help me much today but I guess since there's no seat in front of me I shouldn't complain huh ‍. The lady's that work gate 74-78 are super classy and always extremely nice. It always pains me to see people get irate with them over minuscule issues. Come on travelers there just doing their job & dealing with u makes it worse. Don't be a Karen and show up super late and expect an upgrade

    They suck

I like to write my reviews in the order of when I used a business' services. If I write a review of a business out if order, its either one of two reasons: 1) Your business went above and beyond. You totally rocked it! 2) Your business terribly messed up and/or treated me horribly. In other words, you completely flopped! This review will be because of reason #2. Usually, my experiences with Delta are good. But every few trips, Delta messes up. The thing is, when they mess up, its a titanic bungle. This one was just as bad as my 2019 debacle with them on a vacation to Boston. So this was a business trip I had to Orlando to a conference. The flight over there was good. The conference was informative, the hotel divine and the nights were tons of fun at Universal Orlando. Its the flight back that went awry. My flight was for 5:00 pm going to Detroit. I had a connecting flight to Fort Wayne so I could then drive home. I saw the time creeping up... flight was delayed... well after it should have been departed. No announcements that flights were going to be delayed. No explanations. Nothing! We finally get on probably half an hour after we were supposed to have boarded. My in flight experience wasn't very good as my inflight entertainment screen wouldnt work... joy. When i landed i noticed i was most likley not going to make my connecting flight to Fort Wayne. I have seen other flights were the staff was cognizant of this. They would make arrangements to hold the next plane a little longer. Have someone from Delta outside to tell you how to more quickly reach the plane or if not possible make new flight arrangements there. The staff even tell the other passengers to let off those with connecting flights off first. Did any of this happen? No! Since i checked both bags I had, i try to get thru the crowd... all for some stupid blonde blue eyed Karen to stop me and give me a lecture about waiting my turn. When i explained hey i am going to miss my flight. She said it was my problem and that other people need to get somewhere too. The flight staff saw this... they did nothing. So i get off my plane and I run and i run and i run... i dont make it. So i have to find the area where u can get a new flight. The next flight isn't until 8:00 am the next morning. This has never happened to me and i ask the Delta employee, what about my bags. Oh they will be with u on the plane to take in the morning. I find out later this was a lie... they flew in earlier. I do find out something interesting from the delta employee though. The flight was delayed because a flight attendant was late?!?! Why couldnt they leave without her. Cant the other flight attendants pick up the slack? So i miss my next plane, but hers is held. Seems to me this airline inconvenienced me to convenience themselves. I get hotel accommodations from Delta all at the Wyndham Garden. I am told to go wait for the shuttle. 20 minute wait. The place is rated 1 1/2 stars on yelp. It is not the best hotel... but they put me up in it. Wonderful reviews too. I loved how check in has a hard glass/plastic barrier in between employees and people staying.... Totally makes you feel safe. Hotel looks like an old 70s hotel in between remodels. I had no extra clothes so I had to stick with what I had for the day. I order some food on Uber eats and lay on the bed and put on an old episode of Friends to try to relax and let go of my anger thru laugher. I catch the last five minutes of an episode... and the power goes out for the entire grid. I had no ac. I had no light. Do you know how difficult it is to eat in pitch dark? Or go to the bathroom? To make matters worse, I have severe sleep apnea... i didnt have my machine with me because it was in my bag. Not that it would have worked without power. Even with the length of this review there are not enough words to say how utterly Delta failed me. And of course I ask myself Why didn't they put me up in the Westin inside the airport. I bet they didnt lose power because the Airport always has power. So i start boarding the next day at 8 am. Utterly pissed and exhausted. I barely slept. I didn't get home until midday. Since i didn't have my laptop with me... thats a day of time off I lost. I would like to give Delta a standing ovation for another job well done! I know lots of people wish Yelp could allow someone to give 0 stars. You guys deserve into the negative category.

I will say I have yet to fly Spirit. I first flew Frontier over 10 years ago since they had a Direct Flight from Orlando to San Diego. I got "the works" package or whatever they call it and it was wonderful. More recently, I was going to Charlotte and American was absolutely ridiculous at $800 round trip. Frontier had it for $182 with a "good" seat that I chose when booking the flight. Being somewhat unfamiliar with the process, and having priority boarding, I asked the 3 ladies at the counter, after standing there for a few minutes while they just BS'ed with each other how boarding works. They said they'd call for the priority boarding. Well, after listening and waiting and going through pre-boards and military and all of the other more deserving people getting on the plane, they never said the word "Priority", I guess they call it something different that's 'on the boarding pass which makes it confusing. As far as prices and getting there, it's a pretty good option even if you have a carry-on and are checking a bag. The drink and food options on the plane were a bit pricey so I'd say load up at the Airport first. You get what you pay for for sure. But they got me there on-time which is half the battle. But the gate staff was 1-star for being so unhelpful. I'd fly them again if I had to, but never again by choice.

If you have your Magic Band ready when you get off the plane, it's incredibly easy, and you just walk up and scan your Magic Band and they tell you what line to stand in. Line 10 is AKL for both villages and Coronado. A personal gripe of mine; I don't think Deluxe resorts should have to share busses. Before this trip, we'd always stayed at Polynesian and Grand Floridian. They are both Deluxe resorts, and they share with Contemporary, and all of those resorts are right next to each other, so it didn't really bother me. But this time we were at Animal Kingdom Lodge, and we stopped at Art of Animation and Pop Century before getting to AKL. I just think the Deluxe resorts are so much more expensive that they could get their own busses. In any case, I landed at the airport at 3:45, was on a bus by 4:15, and on resort at 5:07. I don't think it's worth the cost of an Uber to get there like a half hour faster, but that's up to you. One thing that's great about Disney is that you don't need to worry about transportation at all once you get there, and I really appreciate that. And if you check bags, you don't even need to get those, and they'll deliver them right to your room. I had a very early flight home though, and they picked me up excessively early. I got picked up at 5:30am for an 8:30am flight. I didn't have luggage, but if I did I could have checked it at the resort, so no one needs to be at the airport that early. I sat around for a good 2 hours before my flight. That might have been worth taking an Uber just so I could sleep another hour. It's still a great service though, and I plan to use it again next time. There's really no reason to spend extra on transportation when this is included with your stay.

It's great if you don't need to rent a car as you can use this bus service from and back to the airport. I highly recommend it. Then just use the free Disney transportation to get to parks and shopping. Never had a bad experience! Clean and comfortable buses, with professional courteous drivers. Charging ports on the bus along with TV's showcasing Disney info and trivia. They have this down to a science. Be sure to tag your bags correctly, and they will get them for you, and they magically show up at your hotel. The buses run on specific schedules and based on the time of your flight be prepared to leave a bit earlier to the airport. I read this service will end in 2022. Sad, as it's a terrific perk.

I thought that since I was going to…read moreHarrisburg and Allegiant flew straight there that it would be better for me to go via Sanford. At this point, I want to say that the Sanford Airport and the Harrisburg Airport are small, efficient, and easy. Five stars to the airports, but not to the airline. The "budget" airline charged three of us over $1,200 RT, which was significantly more expensive than flights from Orlando to Philly (of course, I would have needed a car to make the drive to Harrisburg, but I could have used a car a couple of times on the trip. Now, for Allegiant's extras and lacks: No tv screen; No pouch to store your bottle of water or book on the Airbus; Seats don't recline; Even water is 3 bucks; Checked bags are $70-75 each way, depending on when you choose to pay. (Maybe next year they'll install pay toilets!) Nope! Once was enough for me.

We asked at the gate and they had no idea why it was delayed. called the priority customer service line. first call disconnected. Called again, no information other than delayed. Finally we learn it is a flight attendant issue. We are delayed because she has to drive from Knoxville. Finally called for boarding around 10:10 they called Priority Zone One. all one sentence. Well, they meant both priority and zone one. we were priority but zone 4. So, we waited. No, should have boarded with the zone one. Boarded the plane thanked the attendant for being there. He advised he was not flying with us. Just waiting for the attendant to drive in from Knoxville. We had another 20 minute wait before she arrived. Had to have 4 attendants on board. Why make us wait that long? Nashville is a large area - should not have to wait for a almost 3 hour drive from Knoxille.

Booking everything online with Delta was super easy and our information was transferred to Virgin Atlantic including our points. All we had to do from that point forward was download the Virgin Atlantic app on to our phones to get updated flight information. The only thing that didn't get transferred was his KTN. Navigating their website and app was a bit confusing so the day we flew out, we had to update his KTN with the check-in agent. If you're a government employee, this can be a hassle and set back if you do have precheck. The check-in agent has to manually enter the KTN for you. This was a minor setback that we had for my hubby. But no big deal.. we got to the airport 3 hours prior and got everything squared away in time. Now to the flight... the flight was smooth, no turbulence whatsoever. What was suppose to be an 8 hour flight turned into 7 hours so we ended up getting to London an hour earlier. It was a full flight, probably about 200 passengers on board. The flight attendants were amazing. We were served food and drinks every hour. They provided head phones, blankets and pillows. I couldn't sleep on the plane because I was so excited to be on vacation so I watched 4 movies. Would I fly with Virgin Atlantic again? Absolutely!

Overall, Southwest has been super reliable for me. Sure, there are occasional delays, but they've mostly been weather-related. On a recent MCO to PIT flight, we had about an hour delay due to weather, but they made up time in the air and it only ended up being about a 30-minute delay. Plus, the flight wasn't full, which made for a really comfortable ride. One thing I actually like is their boarding process. It's almost like a virtual queue--check in early, get a better boarding position, and you've got a solid shot at a good seat. Wait too long, and you're probably heading toward the back. Flying solo, it doesn't matter much to me, but with family, that early check-in strategy definitely comes into play. Their rewards program is solid, the staff is consistently friendly and communicative, and they just get you where you need to go without the headaches. Not much to complain about here--Southwest has earned its spot as my preferred airline in the sky. Wheels up!
