Very welcoming ranch with friendly, knowledgeable ranch hands. Beautiful ride - saw lots of wildflowers and deer. Horses were well behaved.

Amazing time on the buggy tour! Truly memorable. Our guide was beyond excellent and our family, young and old, enjoyed it alike! Tip if you're going during the summer: wear sunglasses or some kind of eye protection and clothes you don't mind getting dusty. read more

We were celebrating my sisters 60th birthday in Steamboat Springs and decided to go horseback riding. We were a little nervous however our apprehension quickly disappeared due to the calm horses and experienced father-son guides. What an amazing adventure with scenic views and beautiful country side. We even saw deer, elk, and a bald eagle. We just wish they had a 1.5 hour tour as the 1 hour would seem too short and the 2 hours was a little rough on our booties. What a memorable birthday with memories that we will treasure. We would definitely recommend Del's and plan on returning. read more

Did four hour horseback riding, just me and guide Ray. He had great stories to tell having lived in the area most of his 80 years. Entertained a lot of questions from me. Cloud cover low but still very scenic. Very peaceful, relaxing, great chance to think. Not a cheap excursion, but made for a lot of pleasant memories. Saw deer and elk. read more

My family and i have been coming to Steamboat for over 17 years and continue to fall more in love with the people and businesses every year. For the past 5 years we have been going to the Dutch Creek Ranch for a horseback ride and some great food and drink. Sadly Dutch Creek closed so we looked for a new place to take the family horseback ride. We found Del's Triangle 3 Ranch on the web and judging by its website it looked really great!. We arrived 15mins early and like the other reviewer it was better represented on the web. We also were whisked into our paperwork and told they were running behind. We went out with another family only to be told they were short a horse. The other family rode a mule that turned out to be a wonderful animal. The only reason I bring that up is at the very least you should have enough horses based on the reservation. We leave and the young girl taking us out has water, gatorade and a poncho...we had nothing of the sort....nor offered any. The obligatory picture group/family picture came next. She didnt line us up as a family just took a couple pictures this way or that way and that was it. Needless to say we will not be using those pics for the family xmas cards! The trail ride was boring and pretty bleak. Most of the ride was through dead Aspen groves and like most rides you just sat there. The horses were on auto-pilot and really didnt care what inputs you gave them. That is what brings me to the worst part and the reason i decided to write this review. My 12 year old daughters horse had one eye and would not stop snacking along the trail. The horse would eat regardless of how hard my daughter pulled on the reins. The horse would then trot back up to the group all of 20-30ft. The young lady leading the ride asked my daughter to stop trotting and letting the horse eat. After the 3rd time the horse trotted back up she told my 12 year old..and I quote " if you let that horse trot one more time I am going to make you walk back..." So rather than riding to rear of the pack and helping her and teaching her how to stop the horse...she threaten to make my daughter walk back! That was it for me. $70 per person, ugly trail, she didn't have anything to say about where we were or what we were seeing...and she threatens my daughter to pull her off the horse. Enough! No water or drinks at the end of the ride...just whisked back in to pay with a big sign...asking for a tip I didn't tip and it took all of my will not to only give them half. I would NOT recommend this place. Its a real shame because i know how hard an independent business can be to run...but you cannot run it like this. Some simple thank you's, perhaps a water at the end of the ride would have changed my mind. To the folks at Del's...you have something special but really need to work on your customer satisfaction skills and assure your staff is representing you well. read more

We had 2 adults and 2 children (age 13 and 10) and they paired us up with the perfect horses. We would highly recommend this adventure if you are in Steamboat. read more

We took a two hour horseback ride; our guides Ray and Frank were knowledgeable about the wildflowers (hillsides covered in Mules' Ear!) surrounding us and we had a great experience, traversing through their property (they have 5,000 acres) and some land the school district rents out to ranchers. We rode through birch forests and saw deer and two herds of elk with calves, and had a spectacular view of the surrounding mountains. They do winter rides as well, and I would definitely go back! The ranch is a bit off the main road through Clark, and our horses Sunny & BB were sweet. read more

We took a half day trailride and had a great time. Mckinley, our guide, lead us to spectacular views of the mountains, hillsides of yellow flowers and through aspen forests. She was friendly and personable and knew the trails like the back of her hand. We stopped for lunch in the aspens with a view across the valley and ate a simple brown bag lunch with a delicious wrap. read more

Wonderful experience on my horseback ride with Del's Triangle 3 Ranch! Absolutely gorgeous scenery, saw many deer and elk. Our wrangler Siera and the horses were great as well. My best friend and I did a 2 hour trail ride today and had an absolute blast! We met the family when we arrived (and their adorable dogs!!) and everyone was so nice and welcoming. Ray took us through gorgeous aspen groves and we had great views of the mountains and even got to see some Elk. I had no experience on a horse and have to wear a knee brace after ACL issues and they were more than accommodating with helping me adjust to be the most comfortable in the saddle. I definitely want to come back during the color change. Highly recommend if you're in Steamboat!! read more

Beautiful scenery. Ray was very nice and knowledgeable. Really enjoyed my time. The only problem is that my ride only lasted 75 minutes, not the two hours they advertised. They said this was due to the weather and speed of the horses. It is the same trail each time, so really it should be advertised by distance, not time. Since it is advertised as two hours on their website, it should have been two hours. $75 is a lot for one hour, especially considering there were other companies offering two hour rides for only $80. Overall, it was gorgeous. Loved the scenery and tranquility. Just wish I had gotten what I paid for. read more

My 3 kids (10,12,14) and I completely enjoyed our 2 hour ride! The guides (Keenan & Mandy) were fun, helpful & knowledgeable. We saw some wildlife and the scenery was breathtaking. My 14 yr old wasn't thrilled about going horseback riding before we arrived, but afterwards said that he was glad he came. We highly recommend this outfitter and will return again. read more

We had a pleasant ride through an aspen grove. It's a small operation and it seems like the horses are treated well, which is what we were looking for. Would have liked to trot for a moment or see some more interesting scenery rather than just being stuck in a line with farting horses. It was nothing special, but at least the horses look happy and not tortured. I wouldn't do it again, but it was fine. read more

What a great experience for our whole family. There were 6 in our group ranging in age from 6 to 63 and everybody couldn't stop talking about our ride. The young lady that was our guide was knowledgeable, patient, and kept all of us completely relaxed during the entire 2 hour ride. We saw a herd of elk, somewhere in 50+ range and several deer. My 9 year old grandson is the type that will ask a thousand questions and the guide was great in answering all of them. None of us have much experience with horses but there were no issues, just a very memorable experience on our vacation. read more

We took our kids (girls 7 and 9) on a winter ride. It was great. We all loved it. Riding through 4 feet of snow is pretty cool. A great activity for a non-ski day. The guides (Ray and Perk) were terrific, sixth generation ranchers in Steamboat. They have a free shuttle in winter and will pick you up at the gondola. read more

Great place for a novice rider. We had a family member riding for the first time and she's hooked! The ride went off on time and with some general information from our guide. As noted in an earlier review, you won't be galloping across the plains, but that's not what this ranch is about. It's about traveling along trails in a beautiful mountain setting. read more

I also went on a two hour horseback ride but through no fault of my own. I had called and left a message saying I wanted to reserve for a one hour ride at 2 pm. A man called me back and said that was fine. I then asked if he had any earlier reservations and he said no they were all booked up which when he said it he wasn't believable at all. So we get there. First of all the area where they kept the horses was disgusting. Manure was everywhere and there was no effort made to clean it up. There was even manure in the horses water (ewww!) The guide, a young girl named Kate rushed us to sign the release of liability form saying it was not necessary to read it, just sign where she indicated. We then were mounted on our horses and began the ride. Overall the ride was pleasant and we did see some deer, we rode through forests and passed a manmade lake (again manure everywhere) but I began to think it was going on a little more than an hour because I was getting sore and thinking hasn't one hour passed by now? Come to find out at the end of our ride we were told that we were booked for the TWO hour ride and that the price was $75 as opposed to $45. Kate explained that the 2 pm reservation was for a two hour ride something the guy who called me back NEVER mentioned. Luckily I had the cash on me but I was irritated. Kate just laughed like ha, ha, we got you! So they got an extra 20 dollars out of my friend and and an extra 30 dollars out of me plus a $3 tip (because Kate told me it cost $75.00 not 65.00 and she then gave my friend a "discount" and he paid $65.00.) Since I was in another area I had no idea that I was being ripped off at the time until we later compared notes so that's why I am editing this review. But along with that I am posting this warning that if you do decide you want to make a reservation make sure they and you are clear on what you are getting and how much it costs so you don't get surprised like I did. read more
