My husband and I had a wonderful experience at Latigo Ranch last week. So many reasons why it was incredible. I'll start with their customer service and responses. I emailed a few times and called and each time I had prompt responses with courteous service and that is big when planning logistics of a trip. The places is family owned and each person that works there shows care for the Ranch, their role there and pride in what they do. The whole family feel made it feel like we were family. We stayed in a "Cabin" which was cozy and lovely for 4 nights. It had a super comfy bed (love the sheets!), fridge and they even accommodated us with a microwave for our personal needs. The best touch was the wood burning stove and we lit fires 3 of the nights even in July which was such a nice touch. They provide everything you need for a fire. The meals were all included and were divine! From the salmon, to the grass fed steak (my fav!) to the unique desserts (chocolate lava cake anyone?) we ate like Kings! It's family style dining as far as you are sitting at tables with other ranch goers which made for lovely conversation. One breakfast was out remote from the kitchen/dining area and we ate on a cliff overlooking sunrise. Pretty special! The views are to die for. From every angle. We even did a 2 mile hike (round trip) to see a waterfall that was remarkable! Tons of wild flowers in every direction. While we did not ride horses, we did enjoy the grounds with sunrises and coffee, the pool over looking the horses and the hot tub! Humming birds whirl Around you all the time and you get tons of pics with chickens and ducks. One of our favorite nights was listening to an acoustic guitar with Cowgirl music played by Caitlyn in front of the lake at sunset!!! Don't hesitate to make this experience happen whether you have a family reunion, honeymoon, vacation or just something new. I can not rave about Latigo Ranch enough! Everything was amazing. First, everything pre-trip was smooth, from finding Latigo online to actually finding Latigo irl. Booking was smooth and easy and flying into Denver gave us a perfect little drive to Latigo (about 2.5 hours). I was visiting with my mother to celebrate my 30th birthday by doing a unique trip. Latigo exceeded my expectations! We pulled in and got checked in and shown to our cabin. Due to late booking, we had a 3-bedroom cabin for the two of us : Riata cabin. We unpacked our bags and sat down on the couch to find some caramel corn and an itinerary for the week. There were all kinds of activities every day including horseback riding, hiking, fishing, white water rafting, a Western dance, rock climbing, etc. We got to meet some of the other tenants and some staff on the first night and enjoyed top notch dining! The first full day, we went for a hike first thing, followed by breakfast. Oh man, I can tell the food is gonna be amazing all week by breakfast time. I haven't even mentioned the views! Spectacular views all around. It snowed just a few days before we got there (no worries, weather was beautiful) so the distant mountains were nicely snow-covered. There are hummingbird feeders right by the kitchen so we got to watch them feeding before every meal and sometimes the ranch dog would visit too, and I'm a sucker for wildlife. We also saw a lot of deer during the week, sometimes walking right by the cabin! Anyway, after breakfast, we went to the barn and got matched up with our horses. My horse, Bandit, was perfect! Just the right fit for me. They helped everyone figure out where they were on the experience scale and really catered to our needs and wants throughout the week. Some people only wanted scenic rides, some wanted to trot or lope, some had never been on a horse before or couldn't get her horse Colorado to stop eating grass. There were very different levels of experience and intention and yet, we were all taken care of wonderfully. Well that's the basics. The next 5 days were full of beautiful scenery, wildlife, activities and prime dining. If you want to do a different kind of vacation, this is the one to do. If you've done dude ranches before, you haven't been to one like this. I could not recommend this place enough, honestly. From the food and scenery, to the scheduling and staff and even the closeness to a large city, I wouldn't change a thing. Recommendation : Try to wake up early one day and go to the social club to watch the sunrise. You won't regret it. And drink lotssss of water. read more

Our second trip to Latigo and it couldn't have been better! My husband and I traveled with our 2 children, ages 13 and 10. The riding trails are beautiful, with varied scenery and terrain. The horses well trained and cared for, the food is EXCELLENT, but it is the hospitality that is truly beyond compare. The George family and all of the staff are so friendly and welcoming, you really feel well taken care of all week. Our cabin was recently given an interior facelift and was so comfortable, with many little touches like sunscreen and bug spray provided, daily caramel popcorn, even bags for packing dirty boots at end of the week. Small touches of thoughtfulness and care can be found throughout the ranch. The changes made to keep every safe from COVID 19 were appropriate, sensible, well thought out, but not at all obtrusive. My husband and I are both physicians and we felt entirely safe and comfortable throughout the week. We were all so excited to return, and the week lived up to all of our fond memories of our trip there 4 years ago. We've visited a couple of other dude ranches in the interim, and at the other ranches, the verdict as we drove away was always "That was fun. Now when can we go back to Latigo?" Both our boys 12 and 14, my wife and I agree that this was the best family vacation yet. The setting of the ranch is breath-taking. The staff was extremely friendly, professional and would continually delight us by going above expectations. There was a plethora of activities and choices for the whole family, beyond riding, including white water rafting, fly fishing and rock climbing. I've vacationed twice at Latigo and both times were amazing. The staff is welcoming and attentive, the rooms are delightful, the views are outstanding and the horses are magnificent. I went alone both times and never felt strange about traveling by myself. The wranglers are knowledgeable and competent. The food is fantastic. There is a lot to do, with time to do absolutely nothing. One thing I love about this ranch is that the guests and the staff are the only ones on the property. You never have to worry about leaving your things outside your room or the safety of your car, or your Self. Park the car for a week and enjoy everything this ranch has to offer. Just go! read more
