My friends and I have looked forward to karaoke night every year for a few years now. Not sure if there is a new host but I was there for 2.5 hours and sang one time, but clearly this is not being hosted properly. I attend many karaoke nights and I've never seen something run so terribly. At the end of the night the Karaoke host actually tried to get in a physical fight with multiple patrons. Ah Schmiggity's. It's an off the wall kind of place. Decent when there is a (good) live band. Not so much during karaoke night. This place caters to a certain type/generation...of which is not me. With an endless amount of IPA's, shots like Gummy Bear and Blueberry Muffin, and a crowd belting out tunes from unsympathetical, narcissistic grunge/post grunge artists, i felt so old and out of place. What happened to happy dance or good old fashioned rock 'n roll music? Anyway between that and the fact that we were ignored for a decent amount of time before a bar tender took our order, let's just say Schmiggity's will never land top spot on my places to visit in Steamboat. read more

Visitors beware of going to Schmiggity's!!! My daughter was drugged over the weekend at Schmiggity's. She was drinking a White Claw out of a can. She left feeling dizzy, off-balanced, loopy, and nauseous . She threw up several times as well. This has never happened after one White Claw. The owners need to take responsibility for this negligence and investigate this problem. I read that the artist, Maddy O'Neal, experienced the same thing that night. read more

A group of 10 ladies went here a couple weeks ago for a great live show! We saw the recent reviews about some shady things to look out for so we were diligent and looking out for each other. I will say though that Schmiggity's had taken great steps to improve safety -- they had signs everywhere to keep drinks with you or they'd be tossed, to grab a free "drink condom" and signs in the women's bathroom with steps we could take if we were feeling uneasy. Don't go here. The door guy is a thief. I came as a DD with a group of friends. He decided to start charging a $15 cover with me, fine. I gave him a 20- he pocketed it. I asked him for my change he said "what change?" I said you owe me 5 bucks- he said 'prove it'. So he stole $5 from me and $15 from the bar he works at. Not cool. I feel sorry for the owner. If the door guy did this to me, it can't be the first time he's done it. read more

This was the absolute worst experience I have ever had at a bar. Stopped in on memorial weekend with my boyfriend, got it line for a drink, and was blatantly ignored for 15-20 minutes. I figured there was quite a few people waiting for a drink so maybe the bartender just missed us. The bar is cool, doorman very nice. However The DJ. steezy nicks was horrid. We were visiting for a birthday and asked him to play a song by snoop dog because it was 10/20, snoop's birthday. By far the best music venue/bar in town. I've been to music venues all over the country from Red Rocks to Webster Hall and Schmiggity's sound quality is up there with the best. But the best part is that the environment there is so intimate that your practically part of the band. The bar staff there is extremely friendly as well. They work their way down the bar serving orders quickly, always with a smile on their face and a jive in their step. I hav a great time at Schmiggity's everytime I've walk through the door! For a live music venue hours away from any big city, they do an excellent job of bringing in the best music Colorado has to offer. Drinks are good and well-priced, vibe isn't divey, bathrooms are nice, owners and staff are friendly. They also have a reputation for treating out-of-town musicians almost extravagantly well. Came here on a Saturday night during offseason based off a recommendation from a local resident. There was no cover but certain events do charge a cover according to the schedule. They had a live DJ playing with an pretty great light and sound system. Drinks were pretty average and they did have an advertised "mystery shot." It was decently crowded but I was still able to move around and dance. There were a ton of hooks to hang jackets on around the dance floor that I could keep within my line of view (helpful in a ski town with a heavy jacket). There crowd was fairly younger and everyone was dressed pretty casual. There was a decent amount of street parking and a nearby free shuttle stop. read more

Let me tell you what. Go here. What a wonderful experience. From a block down Lincoln I could hear an angel singing. "Don't stop believing..." she sang, and I didn't. I was lured in. As soon as I stepped up to the bar, the handsome bartender greeted me with a smile. He poured me a beer that I had tried before. Somehow, it tastes better the way he did it. So Schmiggity's has at least 2 security guards that I saw the night I was there. I drove from Denver to see a C&W musician. Didn't realize that there were mosh pits for C&W music. I'm guessing that is the crowd at Schmiggity's. I went to go to the bathroom and in getting through the crowd was knocked to the ground by the idiot dudes in the mosh pit. Was on the ground for over a minute with guys stomping on me. Finally some other patrons got me off the floor. Security was nowhere around there, even though they have cameras. I told the guy at the door, that they needed to watch the mosh pit and he told me to stay out of it. So I guess you can't go to the bathroom at Schiggitys then, because that's all I did. So this was a different little spot for me. I'm new to the area and I wanted to get out and explore so I hit schmiggitys up. 1- I was happy they were open 2- parking was easy and a safe walking distance ( important to myself because I'm single) 3- drink the look she looks different than what I'm used to when I go out I like Hennessey and amaretto bloody Mary's martinis but I was able to find something comparable to my liking ( it just took a min) 4- I'm almost 40 and I like to sit my azz down when I go out. You won't be able to do that here so wear comfortable shoes. 5- the atmosphere is laid back and this was nice because you don't have to worry about get dressed up (come as you are) 6- the band was talented 7-didn't feel uncomfortable although I was by myself 8- met a ton of great people while I was there and I'd definitely go back. Note: if you're from down south this is a bit different from what we are use to but you'll enjoy yourself. read more

We went for Latin music night last night and had a blast. This morning, we realized we had accidentally left a coat there last night. We weren't too worried about it because we figured we could grab it on our way out of town this evening. Jokes on us because when we showed up to the bar, the guy getting ready for tonight couldn't of been less helpful. He was wiping the windows down when we walked up and asked if he worked there. He said yes and we explained the situation and mentioned that we were on our way out of town. He told us we couldn't go in to look. We asked if he would mind going in to check really quick. He said we could come back at 7 when they opened and did not seem concerned or understanding in the slightest. This is my first negative review. I work in the service industry. Your job is to create a positive guest experience. He could not of done a worse job. I don't support businesses that don't support or care for customers. read more
