On Monday, May 18th, I made an appointment at The Girl Spot Beauty Hayden LLC, located at 473 NE 20th Street, Boca Raton, FL 33431, to have microblading done on my eyebrows. This review is a warning to anyone considering this establishment.
The owner and esthetician, Aysun Gokcel, does not speak English. They speak the Turkish language. All communication was conducted through a translation app, which created significant barriers throughout the entire process.
One of the reasons I chose this place was because of a photo on their Instagram clearly showing the eyebrow measurement process being done with a white pencil prior to the procedure -- a standard and reassuring practice. However, when it came to my appointment, Aysun measured my eyebrows without any ruler or proper tools, relying solely on eye judgment using a black piece of thread.
Immediately after the procedure, I noticed the beginning of my right eyebrow was completely uneven -- there was an added shadow that distorted the shape entirely. I expressed my disapproval right away, and she visibly panicked. She claimed it wasn't finished and began adding hair strokes, but I was not satisfied. She was nervous, the work was fresh, and rather than push for an immediate fix, I agreed to pay $450 and told her we would address it at the follow-up retouch appointment.
After a week of healing, the results were clearly the product of poor execution. I contacted her by message explaining that she had likely scraped the skin when applying an orange pigment she said was necessary. I scheduled a retouch for May 26th; she asked me to arrive an hour later, so I rescheduled for May 27th.
When I arrived, her husband immediately took a defensive stance, telling me that Aysun had shown me pictures and that I had approved the work. I knew right then this would not go well. When Aysun arrived, she was cold and dismissive -- she looked at me with disdain and walked straight to the room to re-measure with the same black thread, and proceed with more work.
I told her clearly: I did not want any new work. I simply wanted her to remove the uneven shadow she had created. She refused. I showed her the issue using a specialized ruler I had purchased, demonstrating precisely how her measurements were off. She insisted her measurements were perfect and dismissed my tool as nonsense. She became furious.
After I repeatedly asked her to restore my eyebrow to its original state, she said: "OK, I will remove it -- but I am going to hurt you." That statement made it unmistakably clear that I needed to leave immediately. I requested a refund, and they refused entirely, citing a no-refund policy I had signed.
A no-refund policy applies to work properly done -- not to negligent, poorly executed services that cause harm.
Additionally, I was never given a receipt for the services rendered, nor any aftercare instructions. When I asked, they claimed instructions had already been sent -- they had not.
I approached this situation with patience, politeness, and good faith. In return, I received the worst customer service of my life, a botched procedure, a veiled threat, and zero accountability.
After researching similar situations, I have come to believe this establishment intentionally performs substandard work to keep clients returning for repeated paid corrections -- a deeply unethical and exploitative practice.
