I treated myself to a Friday afternoon at the spa recently. My experience from start to finish was absolutely fabulous. I was checked in courteously and took advantage of my early arrival (recommend) to check out the amenities. The spa smells great and the setting feels very approachable and welcoming. My massage therapist was Audrey. She was wonderful. She spent a few minutes at the start of the treatment to find out if I had any special areas of concern and then invited me to choose my aromatherapy oil. I chose the one with sweet orange. Audrey made the aches in my knees go away!!! Thank you, Audrey! Afterwards, I spent some time in the jacuzzi and then the steam room. I felt so relaxed and refreshed after the whole experience. I love the relaxation room at the Seagate: it has a very calming vibe. I was offered either a peppermint tea or some prosecco when I arrived. I chose the tea. In the past, I have chosen the prosecco. However, ever since The Seagate stopped serving the prosecco in a real champagne glass, I have switched to the tea. Prosecco does NOT taste as good served in a plastic cup! When asked about this change, I was told that their champagne glasses kept disappearing.... . Really people?? The Seagate is one of my favorite spas! This was one of my top massage experiences. I had Carolynn for my massage and was so impressed. I mentioned I had TMJ, which she happened to specialize in and provided really great work on my jaw, neck and shoulders. She delivered a deep tissue massage that I know will continue to deliver for days. The spa itself is nice, but not outstanding. I was more so impressed by the quality of the services. I attended with my mother and she had the same amazing massage experience as I did. If I lived in Florida, I would be a regular here! read more

I have debating on whether to leave a review or not but after a few days of thinking about it, I thought I should. I recently went in to get a massage and my experience was very unpleasant. My masseuse was very rude. She asked me in the beginning what I would like her to focus on and I said back and traps. After about 20-30 min, she asks me to turn around and I explained that I just wanted her to focus on my back instead. She takes a step away from me, throws her hands up and angrily tells me that she times her massages and I should have told her that in the beginning. Um... I did. So I tell her we can just end the session now and she continues yelling at me and says we basically need to finish the rest of the session because I paid for an hour. So I lay back down and she continued my massage while I was completely stressed out. Once the massage was finished, she asked me if everything was good and I said it was great, thank you. Her response, 'I WASN'T FISHING FOR A COMPLIMENT' in a condescending tone, told me I could get up when ready and left the room. I left their spa feeling worse than when I came in. I was so stressed and upset. Seagate needs to do better when hiring masseuses. And I will never get a massage there again. read more

The spa was lovely. No complaints. 5 friends went and we all did massages and facials on a girl's trip. We then went to the pool and ordered lunch (4 fish tacos). I was overcharged for drinks and apps I never ordered. My bill was $260!! Most be some tacos. The managers will not take the $150 off. They say the bartender remembers making us drinks. Torn about this review. I'm going with a solid 3 ONLY because my two accompanying friends had good massages. "Not the best, I've ever had. But good and relaxing enough," they both said. Otherwise, it would have been a solid 2 or less. Mine was not. It was one awkward moment after the another with no end in sight. More in a bit. I booked my appointment online a week before the trip. The staff was quick to reply to my request and finalize my appointment. My room happened to be right by the spa elevator, so arrival was beyond easy. Checking in was also a breeze. The woman at the front desk sweetly welcomed me and gave me a cute small (yet generous) bag with my toiletries for the day. Someone else came to get me and gave me the spa tour: locker, robe, slippers, lounge area, etc. The service includes a glass of bubbly which I shared with my friends while we waited for our massage appointment time. As expected, the lounge area is small but very zen and relaxing. My masseuse greeted me and took me to the treatment room. I specified some of my likes and dislikes, and then the service began. The first red flag was the excessive use of his forearms. It's something I usually don't mind. I kept thinking there would be no need to say something because surely, he wouldn't keep using them...but he did. And at what point do I spend the entire massage time vocally directing? That's not relaxing! He would also hold pressure with the forearm in one spot for a good 15-20 seconds. Was he alive? Hello? Anyone there? I couldn't tell. He also kept switching from pressure to a soft fingertip thing up and down my back/arms/legs. I hated it. Shudder. There was also the weird inner thigh position he put my leg in (not inappropriate, just odd) and another different "technique" for upper chest/shoulder area. Finally, he took a hot towel and used it on my feet thoroughly. I was happy thinking it was time for focus on the feet (which is my FAVORITE). At least there was that to end on a positive note. Instead, I heard the isolating DING of the bell that signals the end of the massage. What? Clean feet and ding? A massage that began at 4 pm had me sitting back in the lounge by 4:45pm. Exactly how short was this "service?" I booked a 50-minute massage! I figured I would mention this at check out and think long and hard about gratuity. My girlfriends and I had a good chuckle at my expense when I was retelling the story and showing them the "moves." I ultimately chose to "find the good" and just resolve that at least I had some spa time and I was on vacation. But when I went back outside to check out, only MY masseuse was standing by the cashier. That's not cool. Why was he standing there? Yet another uncomfortable moment. What was I supposed to reply when she asked: "Was everything great?" Blank stare. I just nodded like a wuss. How do I tell him I disliked it that much? Then, for the grand finale she followed up with " There's an automatic 20% gratuity added to your bill, is that OK?" as the masseuse stared at me along with the cashier. Is that an intimidation technique? It worked. They got me. Given I really liked the hotel and I plan on staying there again, I am resolving to give the spa another go with a different therapist. This time, I will make sure to be very specific as to what I expect: before, during, AND after. read more

Had a spa day with my mother, we both had massages and facials. Poolside service and burger was excellent. My moms massage with Ali was great. Moms facial with Joanie was great (hydro facial). My massage with Johnson was probably the best massage I've ever had. It was detox massage so I got a lovely body brushing and then deep tissue massage. My facial with April would be a 2/5 but her customer service made it a 1/5. This was a very disappointing end to our beautiful, relaxing, day at the Seagate Spa. At a rate of $140 for 50 minutes, you should do proper extractions, she spent about 30 seconds on extractions and the only place she did them was my nose. There was no examination of the skin on my face, my head was not turned even a millimeter to either side, (which means she did not look at half my face). Before the facial she asked what my skin was like and I told her my concern was the clogged pores on my nose. During the facial I asked about the extractions being done and she said, "I did them. Your skin looks great." 've had regular facials my entire life and ample time is spent going around the face, turning the head to each side to examine the skin and removing blackheads. (And I have a magnifying mirror at home and can still see all the blackheads). So then I asked her what facial I should purchase next time so I can get full face extractions done thoroughly, and her response, "this one, I did them." So the next issue I had with my facial was the discomfort from my skin being pulled by April's gloves. I'm not sure how you can offer a high end spa service and do it with gloves that are pulling on the skin when you attempt to rub and massage it. It was distracting and painful. I also asked her about this strange occurrence and she said they are required to wear gloves. Well if that's the case then wear gloves that fit you properly (hers were loose so I could feel the material running on my skin) and don't pull at my skin. At the conclusion of my facial I felt my nose, it was bumpy and rough, not silky smooth like it should be. An analogy would be feeling plaque and tarter on your teeth after a dental cleaning. I told April my nose didn't feel smooth, and her response, "do you feel relaxed?" What? Are you really ignoring me right now? This was a very disappointing and insulting experience. I also let the front desk know about the discomfort caused my the gloves, their response, "nobody else has complained." With that kind of response from the spa manager, it's no wonder April had the lacked any desire to please her client. I will never return here or recommend this spa. And I feel totally ripped off and taken advantage of. At the end of the day I did not get the service that I purchased. This was more like an express facial. Also they try to include a 20% gratuity on all spa services. Excuse me, but gratuity is earned and should be at the clients discretion. This place is not concerned with return clientele that is obvious. A shame because I was planning on tetuemimg to see Johnson until I had my facial. read more

My boyfriend and I spent $585 ($485 couples package + 20% tip) to get quite an awkward experience and a completely frustrating outcome. We came in 1.5hrs prior to the appointment. Pool area was closed. Women's relaxation room was full. The host told us she'd put us together in a separate room. It ended up being a men's relaxation room where men started coming in wearing nothing but towels. I immediately left as it was absolutely inappropriate. Why put us there at the first place? We got picked up by our massage therapists 10 minutes after our appointment was supposed to start. Wearing only robes we were taken through the spa hall and then the common area (gym, elevators etc) to the couples massage suite on the second floor. Our massage therapists seemed weirded out and gave us 8 to 12 minutes for what was supposed to be "a private, luxurious, mood-lit couple's bath comprised of a sun-kissed blend of pink grapefruit, rose, vanilla, and cedarwood oils, your skin will be softened and your spirits enlivened" but ended up being a rather small bathtub with a couple spoons of some milk poured in it. Now to the best part. Massage was horrible and scrub was very mediocre. When I asked for more pressure my therapist said she had a heavy hand and remained doing the same thing. It was rather random rubbing than a professional massage technique. Then somehow she did something to my neck that caused shooting pain which I immediately notified about. She responded something like "Oh yeah? Ok ok...", rubbed it a bit and proceeded to other body parts. I asked to fix my neck but apparently we were running out of time... It has now been 1.5 weeks and my neck still hurts. I have no clue what she could possibly do to it that caused such injury. Seagate Spa prooved itself as another "luxury" spa that pays more attention to appearance than quality. read more

We had the couples massage today with Dana and Carolyn. The massages ranked as one of the best we have had, the entire staff was friendly and attentive. The place was clean including shower area, steam room and the relaxation room. There are a couple of things that are not perfect, we expected more amenities and the rooms are nothing special also we had been told last minute that we wouldn't have access to the pool but they gave us a card to use anytime we want which was a nice gesture. Overall experience was great and we are happy, we will likely be back. read more

We were incredibly disappointed with the management staff after our second stay at this hotel. Our room was continually warm and only on the last night was the air-conditioner fixed. Although we checked out at 1 PM we were told the balance owed and cashed out. The manager, Darren Green, actually called me and accuse me of trying to skip out on $80 additional dollars. He then had his lawyer called me and threatened me claiming they don't take personal checks. Definitely a low class move that cost them a customer. read more
