The cherry on the top though is the service, because they are so attentive. You can tell the staff work as a team . Someone comes with the drinks, someone else comes with the food, another person clears the tables, you have the waitress, and the waitress from the table next to it, also making sure you are OK and don't need anything. It's organized. Phenomenal. I also liked that the waitresses kept checking on us when the guys in the table next-door were talking to us. That was really considerate of them to make sure we were OK.Always my go to spot in this area

The espresso martini was good as was the Point Break, with tequila and guava juice, very nice, very tropical. Avalon Beach House used to be Avalon Steak & Seafood House. The first time I went in 2022, I remember it being more of a traditional steakhouse. The Ave has grown significantly around it over the years, but it's still one of the staple restaurants in a central location. Overall, it was great meal with good service and nice atmosphere. It's sill one of the gems. We started with the wedge salad and cheesy bread. We wanted to get the Filet Mignon and the Prime Cut Ribeye to share them, but they were out of the Filet which was a bit surprising. Instead, we got the Crispy Chicken Piccata. They were both excellent. The fingerlings and asparagus were good and loved the red wine sauce. The crispy chicken was not too heavy, with lemon and an ample arugula salad. I don't remember the name of desert, but it was a combo of a browny with an Oreo cookie layer (which the kid in me couldn't refuse) with a scoop vanilla ice cream. It was great.

I'm not a big beer drinker and usually go for a cider, but I ordered a cocktail instead, and she made me a really good tequila sunrise.

Should you be down for grabbing a beer at a dive bar with some rowdy locals though, this may be the place for you after all... With half of downtown Delray's parking taken up by the tennis event, we ended up at the Sail Inn, and as this was my first time walking in the door, I was reminded of Obi Wan'z famous description of Mos Eisley. But it grows on you... The Sail Inn is in every sense of the phrase, a "dive bar". From the cacophony of voices assaulting you on entry, to the sticky bar top and tables, to the competing smells of stale beer, sweat, and too much perfume. We were greeted immediately, and we were served quickly, though there was no smile on the face of our harried bartender, we were just one more round of beers to pour, and though it was a busy night, he was on top of things and no one was complaining. Opting for the spacious outside patio area over the crowded inside, the din was quieted, and we got to enjoy our drinks in relative peace. Be warned this area is for smokers. The only thing keeping this place from getting another star was their weird outdoor seating policy. At 11pm anyone sitting outside enjoying the comfortable and apparently newly renovated patio has to move up into a small space next to the building. This concentrated all the smokers into one small area where we could not enjoy breathing anymore so we left.

Looking for a late night bite, we met family here and sat in the main dining room next to the crazy busy bar. Seems like a pick up spot for twenty-something people but soon realized that the bar action was second to the food. The server had a vibrant personality and told us the burgers were the specialty of the place. The smash cheese burger was on my table within ten minutes and was small but packed lots of flavor with gooey cheese. The sweet potato fries were plentiful and delish. My pet peeve is when restaurants serve a burger with a cold piece of cheese on top, not the case here. Others at the table got the regular burgers which were larger but not as flavorful. The tower of onion rings were impressively oversized with a crispy shell. Extremely loud inside so to converse with others was a challenge but if you want a good meal try this place.

Parking can be a little tricky with limited street parking, but the parking garage is an easy option and just a short walk away. The food was good! I ordered the Angry Cauliflower and was expecting it to be spicy because of the name, but it leaned more sweet than sweet chili. Still tasty, just not what I anticipated. For drinks, I tried the mango daiquiri. It was refreshing, but a bit more icy than mango-y, and I definitely would've appreciated a bigger straw . The only downside was that it got a little warm inside since they had the side opened up for the bar seating during happy hour. But between the good food, decent prices, and extensive menu, I'd definitely come back and try more items.
