Our room unfortunately faced the street rather than the quiet courtyard. Note that this Hilton Garden Inn is next to a very big medical center and is across a historic cemetery. You would think a cemetery should be very quiet except on Halloween? Wrong. Super loud noisy sirens and honking starting before sunrise. Didn't sleep well on the first night. Asked to move to a quieter room facing the courtyard. It made all the difference. On the other hand: clean and nice pool. Not overrun by kids. No one was there in fact. Lucky us. Very nice relaxation upon arrival from the airport. Their on-site restaurant was also alright, see my other review.

There was a concert and a festival so all the hotels were fully booked but I didn't know at the time. So we walked in and I said hi do you have a room available for the night? This heavyset woman sitting at the desk gave me a look and said how'd you get in? I said through the side door. She said who let you in? Security did. I'm thinking does it really matter? Gives me a smug look and says we're full. Ok so we left and we still needed a place to stay. We were outside the building making phone calls for available rooms at different hotels. Finally this other Hilton place says we have 1 room available only and it'll be $336 that's all we have take it or leave it. It was kinda rude but I took it cause I was out of options. Well it so happens that the available room was at the hotel we just left. Er go back through the front entrance and security lets us in and he says she'll be right with you. Ok np thx. Out comes the rude front desk lady with crutches and starts yelling at me "I told you we're sold out!!" I said well I got a confirmation # for a room. She throws her hand up and says confirmation # doesn't matter, it means nothing!!! Now I'm pissed and I say what's your name? How am I suppose to know what or how hotels do things and stop yelling at me. It's not my fault. Your hotel is the one that gave me the email confirming the room and charged me $336!!! Now tell me your name. Now she quieted down just a bit. I said the confirmation # is and again she goes off the handle and yells at me. I told you confirmation # means nothing!!! (If she had let me finish I was giving her the number so that she can refund me and we'll leave) now she's texting someone and ignores us for like 5 minutes. Throws down her phone puts her pudgy hands to her face in frustration. She does that twice. I say can you just refund me and we'll go. She says you gonna have to wait. I know it can be refunded within 10 seconds cause another hotel had to do that earlier with us for over booking. I ask for her name and nothing. I look over at security and he gave us a look like yea sorry. He even does the right thing and gives us the managers business cards. I ask for her name and nothing. She just staring off at the computer working on my refund which has been 5-7 minutes now. I figured if she won't give me her name I'll take a picture of her. She yells at me did you take my picture and I say yes. She goes ballistic and starts yelling me u can't take a picture of me I didn't give you permission all that shit. I told her then give me your name because when I complain to management I don't want to blame the wrong person. Give me your name and I'll delete the picture. She said I'm calling the cops. I say go ahead I'll be here when they come. She's talking to 911 and they ask what race I was and she says I don't know what they are so I tell her Chinese I'm Chinese and I'll be here when they get here. Then she tells the security guard that she needs him to check on a couple of rooms and he says he can't because we have a situation here and I greed with the security and said yea please don go cause she's very hostile. The cops come and I start explaining to them what happened and she keeps interrupting. I tell her keep quiet so I can explain my side and she'll get her chance. After explaining my side the cops ask us to step outside so they can hear her side. I should've stayed to hear her side cause I know she won't tell what really happened. Cops come outside and I say so we're trespassed right? The cops say no you're not but she wants her picture deleted and I say I want her name and I'll delete it but she refuses hence the picture of her. I say I just want my refund. The cops tell her and within 15 seconds I get a refund email. It was that easy but she wanted to make it hard. I tell the cops sorry yall had to come out for bullshit and it was a waste of resources. Apologized to security for puttin him in a bad position. Then we left. Here's her picture and her name is NASHA LEE. (Did she really think I wouldn't be able to get her name?) All I had to ask was who was working at this time and she was a heavy set girl with crutches (probably rolled her ankle trying to be first in line for the buffet) Anyways management did get back to me and I met with them and explained what happened. FYI the cops were called there 2-3 times that day with us being one of them. I told management I'm not trying to get her fired but they need to address this with her and do better. Do better NASHA LEE. Do better Hilton cause I do like Hilton. Customer service job might not be for you NASHA LEE.

After making our reservation, we had tried to extend it when our plans changed, and the hotel was booked, so we had to stay over at a different hotel on the first night, which had us requesting a really early check in (~noon) and were pleasantly surprised that they were able to accommodate it. We were assigned a 2 room suite with a little kitchenette and 2 balconies. It was much too cold to sit outside, but we were pretty excited about the balconies, and hope to return to enjoy that. The room was very spacious, both the bedroom and the living room. Water temperature was good, water pressure in the shower was great. We had plenty of linens. The staff were really friendly. There is a rooftop cocktail bar with outdoor areas that it was too cold to use, but looked cute. We did eat at the restaurant and visit the cocktail bar, and enjoyed both. Note that as of Q1 2026, there is construction on the property as they renovate some of the floors. So there is a bit of dust on the elevators and some construction noise at times. This also lowers the capacity of the hotel as only about half is complete.

The entire place is charmingly historic but also thoroughly updated / remodeled, so everything is in perfect working order and clean/stylish. Service: Gary, the innkeeper/manager, is amazing. He treated us so well and makes the most delicious homemade muffins and eggs for breakfast! He's friendly, caring, and a great resource throughout the stay, who is accessible but not intrusive. I got in around 8 on Thursday evening, and managed to get the last parking spot in the (rather small) lot. There was a lot going on in the lobby, there were a lot of people in the bar area and it was pretty loud - I think there was a large group staying there, and the desk worker was pretty frazzled. My guy had booked me a top floor corner room, and I was pretty happy about that, as the group and noise spilled all over. The gym in this hotel was pretty great - 4 ellipticals and 4 treadmills, 2 sets of weights, benches, and a cable machine, in a room next to the pool. The room was not bad - pretty big, and mostly clean, though there was definitely something spilled down the bedskirt that hadn't been cleaned or changed. There were wall hooks by the door and by the shower, which was a nice surprise, and I really liked the shower - the controls were by the door so you don't get sprayed in the face with cold water while you're trying to turn it on. Breakfast was also crowded, but standard for the Hampton Inn. I had a bagel and went back to the fitness area.

There just happened to be a total water outage at the hotel but got fixed pretty quickly within 1-2 hours. The rooms are on the small side but the building is new. We did have a broken conditioner bottle in that it had fallen off the wall but seems like they knew about it. Also, the phone line wasn't working properly but we didn't really use the phone so just informed front desk so they could fix for future. Cleaning of rooms seemed okay - not sure the vacuumed well and they never refilled the conditioner even though we asked. The location is amazing if you're planning to visit the Strong museum. Free parking, free breakfast and the museum is literally steps away. The breakfast was okay. Eggs, sausage, potatoes, boxed cereal, waffle, orange and apples, coffee, milk, juice, assortment of breads/bagrls/muffins. It was standard fare but nothing incredible. Overall, the location, free parking are absolutely perfect for visiting the strong museum. The breakfast is a nice bonus though not the most interesting or impressive.

Some niggles: - the pillows are terrible and collapse into nothing under your head; - the pool area sometimes ran out of towels so you had to go to the front desk for more; - you could hear people in the hall (that is the case with every hotel I guess); - we could hear the people above us walking around; and - they do room service every other day, so you may find yourself unexpectedly without clean towels; But, the location and rates fit our family's needs perfectly and we enjoyed our stay. My friend, service dog and I plus two backpacks, barely fit on the elevator, I had to take my service dog off leash and let him on first so I could back up because there was no room to turn around. Then when we got the our room the door way is a tight fit and my friend had to push the kitchen chairs out of the way for me. The room is very nice just not entirely handicap friendly because of the kitchen table and chairs I can't access the fridge/ sink or drawers and the bed is higher then my wheelchair which can make transferring harder.

Thankfully the parking lot is well lit and there are plenty of spaces so I was able to find a spot no problem! After parking, when I tried entering the door was locked (for security purposes, I'm sure). I rang the doorbell and within a minute or two, someone opened the door. Just something to be aware of if you arrive late at night. After a couple false starts (initially my room keys didn't work), I got to my room. The rooms are spacious and the bed was comfortable. There was a coffee pot that I made use of both mornings I was there (and was grateful for it). They have a breakfast but it isn't complimentary (I think she said it was $10 for the sort of continental breakfast buffet and $17 for ordering off the menu). Overall, the hotel itself is a little old and worn (not in a vintage-y cool way, more a bit sad). The carpet in the elevator was threadbare and stained. The hallways were also stained and the tile in the lobby wasn't very clean. I appreciated the comfortable stay and one evening the sales manager was in the lobby offering complimentary appetizer bites, which was nice. But, beyond that, this Hilton just hasn't been kept up very well.
