Fu Kee Egg Waffle is an one stop food stall that has almost every traditional Hong Kong street snacks and more! And these are my favourite: Egg Waffle ($15) Curry Fish balls ($12) Fish Siu Mai ($12) Though there are a few flavours for Egg Waffle, I highly recommend the Original! The food stall is clean and staff friendly. All egg waffles were prepared with care and you can be assure that they are crispy outside and soft inside! PS I only have 2 hands and with all the food, I started eating without taking photos

They specialize in egg waffles (obviously) but also do fish balls/meat on sticks. They're right next door to a Gong Cha. There seems to be stiff competition in this area for egg waffles as LKK and Mamma Pancake are nearby. We stopped on a Saturday afternoon and didn't have to wait. They have four types of egg waffles (original, taro, chocolate and sesame coconut) and a peanut butter waffle. - Original egg ball ($18 HKD) - I shared this with a friend. Like how they're made fresh here and had good turnover. Original is pretty good (but I liked the flavoured one more that I sampled). Would go back to try the other flavours. Cheap, tasty snack.

This was an old…read morehaunt for me for a very long time, despite the tight counter space, semi-claustrophobic interior, and virtually zero table area. Their casual take on HK Cafe style food is decent option for this part of the neighborhood. As I understand it, the owners are among the 4th or 5th ones to have occupied this space from the original "Big John." The menu has changed here and there over the years, but has remained steady on providing a little bit of western flair and lots of Hong Kong Cafe stuff to boot. Their claim to fame has been their signature waffle, which is caked in peanut butter, condensed milk, and actual butter. It's kind of like the loaded waffles from the street side eggettes, but dare I say better. I would literally come here for this single item even though it's incredibly sweet and creamy. The rest of the food is pretty typical HK stuff, from congee to noodle soups. Their take on western food is pretty hilarious, such as their $32 hot dog or or fish and chips (dubbed "fried fish fillet with french fries" on the English menu) or their similarly priced "corned beef & egg toastie." "The Big Breakfast" was a laughable plate of scrambled eggs with a hot dog, some bacon, and what looked potato salad. Any westerner would look at this breakfast with an eyelid raised. Don't come here with a group and don't expect stellar service. When dining in, it's improtant to shoot for a small (hell, they're all small) meal or better just eat the waffle with a iced milk tea and call it a day.

So do you like puppies?? Do you like comfort food?? What do these have in common? I have no idea!…read more But at Big Johns, you can look at pictures of puppies while you inhale your comfort food! This place is your epitome of a "hole in the wall" and I love it! Sit next to the local slurping their porridge or sit next to me inhaling a waffle! We probably would not have tried this gem if it wasn't for our friend recommending it. Heck, we couldn't even find it on our first try because it's that small. IF you miss their front door, well you will be wandering around a little. Hubby and I have come here a few times for breakfast and it's literally quite enchanting and...well, different. It's like a diner but really, it's served up cafeteria style. While it's far from 5 star Michelin dining it totally works for those who want to sit down, grab a breakfast (or lunch or dinner, although we have only been here for breakfast, it was super efficient, inexpensive and good. While it was hard to initially get over trying to decide what puppy was the cutest or what I should have for breakfast, my second try was much quicker. Since I was dying for a western style breakfast....think eggs, waffles, toast...anything but noodles. The ordering takes place at the back of the restaurant. You stand in line and place your order. You pay, and a number is given to you. Then you take a seat along with wall. A few minutes later a man will bring you your food on a tray when he sees your number. The place has awesome turnover. When I say efficient, it is! I guess most places are like sit down, eat and get out. This was no exception! Seeing pictures of waffles was like...yesssss! I ordered their (C) Half waffle with sausage, egg for $29 HKD or $3.74 USD. It also came with coffee. I liked the waffle very much. Perfectly cooked with a little crisp on the outside, smeared with peanut butter and condensed milk? I guess they don't do syrup but it still was yummy. I learned what sausage was...aka hot dog. But ohh well, I was full after eating everything and for the price! Wow! Hubby had their (1) Big John #4 with scrambled egg with bacon, sausage and mushroom, 2 pieces of toast, coffee and juice for $36 HKD or $4.64 USD. He was stuffed and said he could eat this everyday! While I'd have to say, Big Johns, you are a bit strange...I do like you... and your puppies! I'm sure we'll definitely be back! I feel like I should go find a few puppies to pet after eating here. But anyone who is a dog lover is friend of mine! Now, about that name...

We ordered their fresh fruit tea, lemon spritzer, and some other pomelo fruit concoction. All very very tasty. For lunch we ordered 3 types of sandwiches. One was their BBQ pork sandwich, one was a chicken sandwich, and a pizza toast. The BBQ pork was more like ham and nothing barbecue about it. The sandwich was drowning in their mustard sauce. They put too much and also smothered their potato salad in the sauce as well. The chicken sandwich was marinated in a Thai basil kinda dressing. Way too salty! The first few bites were ok but towards the end, just tasted salt. The pizza toast was yummy. It took a little longer to come out than the other food. Once again the egg salad was smothered in their sauce. We were too full to try their signature waffles but next time we will for sure! The smell was devine.

Someone will tell you to go up when the line moves upstairs. The wait time was average and we were quickly seated. I ordered a sesame ice-cream with waffle. I've also noticed that all the waiters and waitresses speaks in mandarin (i believe it's the company culture since they originated from taiwan.) The presentation and taste of the sesame ice-cream was great but the waffle was really filling and I had a hard time finishing it. You can probably share the waffles between two people.

Hokkaido Dairy Farm serves up a great variety of HK breakfast from macaroni in soup to sandwiches to waffles. Simply prepared but all so delicious. The easiest way to order is to just get a breakfast set but if you do order a la carte, don't forget to give their milk tea a try. Like most other milkteas in HK, it is not yet sweetened, but bursting with strong tea flavors the moment each cup is brought to the table. The best part...they have menus in English which is not always the case at your more traditional HK cafes.

I'm not sure if the HDF menu is completely available here, but what they do have is simple array of sandwiches and soups, making this spot a reliable lunch option. Most of the people I've seen here are mall employees. It may be just my funny timing as I'm here during non-peak hours, but my guess is the price (60HKD and under) and mellow atmosphere is fitting a quick lunch getaway. As a result there are a lot of solo diners here and open seating for all. They do accept Octopus card for payment, but no credit cards. Put in your order at the front and take a number. Find a seat inside, as there is better WiFI signal and actual ventilation. People watching is a given, but the traffic here is limited. There are utensils, napkins, and water, all available for self-service. The wait staff does a lot of standing around, which is sadly expected. Glad to report the food is pretty decent overall. I have had good results with the breakfast, particularly the Hokkaido Breakfast ($32HKD), which allows for a combination of the sandwich and macaroni set. I personally think the Jumbo Mix Tomato Set ($50HKD) is a great deal. It comes with toast, ham, eggs, and a nice bowl of noodles with minced meat and sausage. One can certainly shoot for the Japanese combinations, but I've had mixed results with the rice bowls, udon, and curry. And if there is any opportunity to rock a waffle, this would be recommended. I'm not a fan of the infamous Hokkaido milk ($8HKD), but their lemon teas ($5HKD) are definitely the bomb. This is not a destination HDF, but a convenient one if HDF cravings come about while shopping at Silvercord.

Hell, if they sold only one thing here-- or even three things-- this would almost be enough to earn them five stars. Sadly, they serve a lot more things here, and while quite a few are pretty good, none come anywhere close to the Purple In Love. The Ujikintoki is a fine dessert, but it's almost disappointing after the Purple In Love, and the same goes for the shaved ice-- good, but I can get good shaved ice lots of other places. The other thing that kills me? No wifi, and no bathrooms (at least not the few times I've been). Minor things, really, but for a trendy, modern dessert place...

But they didn't have tapioca the night I went which was kinda disappointing for my bf because that was something he was looking forward to. So, I ordered a strawberry pudding and he had a tofu thing with red bean and red date I believe. Not exactly sure what it was but there was a picture of it on the menu that look pretty good. Another thing about this place was their washroom at the time was out of service which made it pretty not convenient for us. We had to go somewhere else at around 10ish at night to find a washroom. The dessert itself was kinda meh here. Nothing too special about it and the price was kinda meh too. Not my favourite place to have dessert in hong kong but it was doable that night.
