My first experience was great! Friendly staff and really homie. It took them a while to make my…read morefood since I ordered everything on the menu and they had just opened. I tend to do this when trying new places so I can figure out what I like, so I am use to waiting a bit. The food was really good and flavorful. The oxtails were so tender and the plantains so sweet. I was really excited about going back and I told a lot of people about this place. Unfortunately, it has been downhill every since. First they are never open on time. I have gone +40 mins after opening and the door was locked. I could see a woman unloading food but she did not acknowledge me. I have called +2 hours after opening and no answer. When I did finally manage to get ahold of someone, the food was cold and they changed the plantain style. Now they use large plantains that are not sweet. They are just dry and flavorless. I was ok with this since the portion size was still good and the other food still had good flavor. The last straw was when I ordered my food in person and I told guy #1 exactly what I wanted. I even got extra oxtail gravy for the rice. I waited about 15 mins for my food and I watched guy #1 finish packing my food. Well guy #2 was obviously upset with the amount of food guy #1 made for me so he made a scene. Even though he was speaking another language I could tell he was talking about me since he kept gesturing to me. They put my original food in a storage cabinet and guy #2 proceeded to remake my food. He put 1 oxtail, no gravy, and added a small amount of sides. This took another 10 mins. I was amazed at what I was watching. Guy #2 hands me the new food and smiles at me. Like I didn't just witnessed what happened. I try to support small places like this especially in this region but after that experience... I will likely never go back. I suggest you order your food ahead of time and avoid the wait and subpar service. Happy Hunting Yelpers!

They also operate the Tropical Food Truck which I've seen parked at various locations around Manchester. They offer Puerto Rican and Dominican foods along with sandwiches, fried foods, and pizza. This neighborhood convenience market and kitchen was remodeled in the former 912 Pizza & Market. There are a few tables inside to eat your food. I've ordered takeout from Tropical food to go via ToastTab. On a visit back in September, I ordered the Pernil Sandwich ($10 plus tax), 2 Papa Rellenos ($5 plus tax), a Crab Meat Empanada ($3 plus tax) and a Pepperoni Empanada ($2.25 plus tax). My order was all set in about 20 minutes after placing my takeout order. The 12" Pernil Sandwich (Sub) had plenty of tender & soft pork pieces, lettuce, tomato and Swiss cheese on a soft & chewy sub roll. The papa rellenos (soft fried potato balls) were filled with seasoned ground beef. They threw in an extra papa relleno, 3 total. The empanadas had crispy and flaky pastry shells with the meat fillings. The crab meat empanada could've had more filling inside. On my most recent visit this week, I placed another online order for Tostones (6 for $3 plus tax) and a 3 Topping Pizza ($16 plus tax). However, after I placed my order and took a seat inside to wait for my food, I was informed that they ran out of pizza dough and I could either get refunded for the pizza or order something else. I decided to instead order the Tripleta Sandwich ($12 plus tax), a Beef Empanada ($2.25 plus tax) and a Chicken Empanada ($2.25 plus tax) along with the already ordered Tostones. The transaction was updated on their end and I waited another 15 minutes for my food order. They gave me extra tostones (6 more) for the extra wait. The Tripleta Sandwich was similar to the Pernil Sandwich, but with additional meats, which had tender soft roasted pork (Pernil), ham, pastrami, Swiss cheese, lettuce, tomatoes, pickles, mayo on a soft chewy 12" sub roll. The fried tostones were thin and a bit chewy to eat, but otherwise a great value. The empanadas looked different than the previous visit which were bigger pastry shells (larger disc used) and had more filling with plenty of ground beef and shredded chicken inside each empanada. I say stick with the bigger empanadas. I will continue to order from Tropical Food To Go for takeout since it's along my commuting route from work to the retail area of Manchester. Hopefully, I will be able to order a pizza and mofongo on my next visits.

It was also Penuche's and Blu for a short time. The place was redone and much of the seating is seagreen color. The main level offers a full service bar with seating and 12 beers on tap, wine, cocktails, mocktails, mixed drinks, frozen margaritas & slushes and boozie smoothies. There is also table seating and a piano stage which features evening entertainment including Dueling Pianos. There is more seating on the balcony level. The downstairs features a cozy sports bar with fooseball, darts, 2 smaller bars with seating, high top tables, and flatscreen TVs. The food menu is still evolving which offers a Caribbean Cajun style menu including burgers, cubanos, appetizers, key jerk smoked wings, salads, chipotle chicken chowder, salmon, tacos, jerk chicken, jerk pork, jambalaya, and dessert (bananas foster). The pricing seems fair here. They offer specials on drinks and food on certain nights. I stopped by Keys Piano Bar & Grill for an early dinner before the dueling pianos. I sat up at the bar and given menus to look at. I got an ice water and decided on the Keys Jambalaya ($14.95 plus tax) and the Jamaican Beef Patties (3 for $11.95 plus tax). The Jambalaya came out first which had a mix of onions, peppers, tender shrimp, andoulle sausage, chicken and spices in thick chunky sauce over soft rice. This dish had good spicy flavors. I would definitely order this Cajun favorite again! The Jamaican Beef Patties were filled with plenty of seasoned ground beef in soft pastry shells, homemade dipping sauces provided. The beef patties were really great along with the dipping sauces. I will ask to try their homemade banana ketchup next time since I enjoyed banana ketchup with my Filipino food. For dessert, the Bananas Foster ($8.95 plus tax), which was comprised of 2 firm slices of pineapple French toast smothered in a brown sugar rum sauce, toasted coconut, cinnamon leche drizzle. The banana slices were very firm, like plantains. This dessert was pretty good, but if they had ice cream with this dessert, it would be spectacular. The check was presented on a portable electronic Square payment reader. The e-check was $38.90 with tax and before tip. Overall, Keys Piano Bar offers a nice chill vibe as opposed to the previous incarnations at this location which featured loud rock music and large crowds of drinkers on the weekends, specifically the Brimmer. The temperature inside this place was a bit warm on a hot day outside.
