A maxims eatery a rank above the standard Maxims canteen, in that the Deli-O chains provide table service after you order at the counter. Seating is unassigned, so find a table before ordering... or you may end up standing around awkwardly with a food order pager unsure how to proceed.
I think Deli-O can still count as a fast-food outlet. The food arrives quickly and while it is of good quality, remains at the same level as thee fast food places, albeit friendlier service and better presentation.
I had their breakfast macaroni set which is served in a tomato soup with seared cubes of luncheon meat, which was nice, but again, nothing special. The dish itself has become a popular part of 21st century Hong Kong culture, but don't expect it to win awards.
Their milk tea is what you'd expect of most Hong Kong joints, strong but not bitter, but probably still best served with at least a dash of sugar. If you're a tourist and you're reading this, try a Hong Kong style milk tea, it's quite different to what you'd get from brewing a pot and then adding milk afterwards (though there are "Cha chaan teng"- tea restaurants that specialize in these too, and would definitely be worth the visit if you can speak some Chinese, or are feeling adventurous)
