The inside is very nice and romantic, definitely a more formal restaurant in San Carlos, but service doesn't have to be stuffy. The owner is super charming, friendly and talkative. Excellent service and wonderful food! We attended the NYE dinner and every course of the meal was phenomenal. Servers were attentive and kept our drinks full and dishes cleared. My new favorite in san carlos. Food was excellent and service was great. I had the steak fajitas. And they were amazing. The place is very clean and the staff really works hard. The staff speak english so if your spanish is not to good dont worry. I will try this place again while i am down here. And the after dinner coffee is great. OMG!! I have had THE BEST Filet Mignon ever!! Cooked to PERFECTION to medium rare but on the rare side which I absolutely love for that cut of meat!! We are so glad that our last meal in San Carlos was here!! By the way, our waiter said they close August and September, but reopens in October. Our waiter was great!! From the drinks, appetizer, dinner salads with house peppercorn dressing to the Filet Mignon and Filet Stroganoff. Delfines is in a pretty good location, they are open pretty late which is a plus. Upon arrival we were greeted & seated immediately. Service was pretty good but the food..... HORRIBLE!!!! I ordered camarones al mojo de ajo & there was no garlic on my shrimp, which were extremely over cooked! It felt as if I were eating rubber. The shrimp tasted like a dirty rag. There was no one else in the restaurant and we waited over an hour for our food to arrive. No one in my party enjoyed their food. Very over priced for what you are getting. Very disappointed. Ate here for a special dinner with family and friends. Read the reviews beforehand and wanted an upscale dinner. Initially the service was exceptional. Drink orders were taken and delivered promptly. When it came to ordering food a different matter. Had to physically track down the server. Soup and salads were served promptly, but had to find and remind server for dressings. Thirty minutes later one of our diner's was informed there were no baked potatoes available. This was around an hour after the food order was placed. Food was pretty good, but the poor service and prices affected the experience. Had dinner at Delfines this week for the first time. The menu basically has a few options from major international cuisines, which, based on our experience means that while they are eatable, none are really terrific. So, think of this place sort of like a Mexican version of Applebees. That said, when we were there the restaurant had several tables of seniors all of whom seemed to be regular customers. If you go out to eat a lot and you don't like Mexican food, then you can probably find something to eat here. We ordered some "sushi" appetizer, which also came with the complementary Italian bread, olive oil, and olives--very much a wired combo. My husband had the king pow chicken, which he thought had been warmed in a microwave. I had the special citrus and ginger grilled "sole" with rice and steamed veggies.
