The food looked good, but we did not eat here. We just came to enjoy a margarita on the patio while we had some time to kill. I got a mango margarita on special, which was decent. My husband got a house frozen margarita, and didn't think it was very good. They feature their margaritas, but they didn't carry triple sec, so they just poured additional tequila into his! The staff is nice. This is probably an okay place for lunch or a drink, but if you are looking for authentic Mexican food, it is not here. There was also a really odd sign on the door indicating that they would be closing for the remainder of the weekend to clean (we were there on Friday afternoon), because there was a vicious rumor spreading around that Hammerhead's had continued to operate with COVID-positive staff. It seemed kind of odd and dramatic, honestly.

First it is a nice place and the welcome was genuine and friendly. The service was a little spotty but, considering we stopped only for lunch, it was okay. The coffee is truly horrible! For lunch I ordered a house special hamburger with fries. The burger was very good and the fries were excellent. The coffee, however, was awful. My wife ordered the fish tacos which she said were very nice. She agreed with my opinion about the coffee. So, to summarize, the service was okay, the food good, the place was nice and just in case you missed my earlier point, the coffee was instant and was sincerely, turthfully, heart-breakingly crappy.

The location is in an area just north of San Carlos called "La Manga", so almost all the restaurants in the area are called as such. Remember this one is specifically Doña Rosita and is the largest building in this really tiny dirt road town. We ordered Agua chile mixto, cocktail de camaron, tostada mixto and micheladas. Everything was great. The locals warn about the raw food in the heat of summer, and recommend something treated with lime like ceviche or agua chile, or something cooked. The young locals stomached the raw cocktails no problem, though. Service was as expected. They were able to accommodate our table of 14 without a reservation. We got a free dessert because it was someone's birthday soon. They play this really loud, traditional song and blow whistles and gave a choco flan cake with a firecracker candle. This restaurant is definitely not low stimulation in high season. We did have a 5 year old at our table who absolutely hated the loud song and whistles, but she stuck it out as she's also a local.

We tried to find any CRAB in the meal. None existed when we paid and were leaving. I stopped at the counter and said to the Manager, there was no crab in my meal, he YELLED "YOU LIE" I hadn't asked for a credit or anything, he just yelled "YOU LIE" I've talked to other friends and their comments were that they don't go to La Palapa Griega any longer because of the bad food and service.

The weight staff was very attentive, and the bartender can really make a rockin' Margarita! The decor is very high-end in this town. My wife had baked salmon over saffron and lime rice. Also delicious. Star appetizer was the flatbread with goat cheese. It was outstanding. Our waiter, Orlando, was attentive and spoke fluent English, in addition to Spanish. We have been in San Carlos for four days now and have eaten essentially every meal out. This was by far the best place we've been. At the end of the meal, they were asking if we wanted dessert. I asked if they had cake because it was my wife's birthday. A few minutes later, out came a piece of delicious strawberry cheesecake with an accompany meant of music over the stereo system singing happy birthday . Excellent attention to detail.
