I'm shocked at the amount of bad reviews at this place. However, I didn't have shrimp or crab, which I feel like a lot of people had. We spent a couple days in San Carlos and decided we wanted some seafood. We heard that seafood was absolutely delicious along the coast line. We decided after watching videos online of the region that we wanted scallops These weren't ordinary scallops, they were the huge ones. We decided we would get some if they were absolutely fresh. We sat along the perimeter of the restaurant during sunset hours. The view was spectacular. When it was time to eat, we asked to switch tables more inside the restaurant which they gladly told us to pick any table we wanted. We had a few mezcals, beers, clams, and these scallops that we saw online. Everything was fresh and brought in that day. We asked for something else (I don't remember), but the server told us that what we were requesting was brought in that day. In the case that we are in the region, I would still go back.

We really enjoyed going to Charly's Rock on our visit to San Carlos, we went back twice actually! The view is incredible. Super fresh seafood tostadas and cocktails, great tacos, and both shrimp and crab in culichi sauce which is my favorite sauce. My only issue here is that they charge you random prices for the margaritas, the first time we went the margaritas were only 95 pesos and the second time we accidentally racked up a huge bill because they were charging us way more for the same margaritas we had the day before. Weird. Not the biggest deal in the world though, the food is amazing and you really can't beat the view!

Out the window of the restaurant in front of our seats!! Amazing views!!

AmazIng location with great vegetarian taco's!! Friendly service makes this a local favorite! We both loved watching the full moon rise out the open window with the waves crashing!!

House margarita on the rocks

You can't beat the view here. We had the house margarita and guacamole to start. The guacamole was good, but needed more salt for our taste. Our dishes were good, the best two being the cocktel with seafood and the shrimp and octopus tacos. I think this place is best for drinks and small bites like the cocktel and tacos. I'll be back just for the view and cocktel.

The Rockefeller oysters and Boston are my favorites. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. Great place to hangout with the view. Definitely recommended.

We were out late- 10pm for dinner and so many places had already closed, when spotted this petite place. There were a few tables still there seated outside so we figured we could go in without being too much of an annoyance for being the last table of the night. The wait staff was wonderful. His Spanish was perfect if his English needed help. My Spanish was more sign than spoken, but we got things ordered and he was extra patient. Our drinks were delicious. I had a limanade mineral- fresh squeezed limes, sugar and sparkling mineral water. Then we had Taco A La Diabla, Chimichangas de Cameron and Flautitas de Marlin. All were seafood base and delicious and very well presented. The chimichanga was very crispy, well seasoned, fresh and beautifully presented on a cutting board. The Flautitas were also arranged in a pleasant plate. The Diabla was by all means the best seasoned of them all and I swallowed them down so fast- Yummmy.

We ordered bloody marys which were delicious. I also got the chorizo, cantaloupe, toast & beans which were filling but good. The staff was professional but kind and spoke some English which helped but I tried to communicate in Spanish as much as I could. Can't wait to go back again someday when I'm in town visiting!

The location is in an area just north of San Carlos called "La Manga", so almost all the restaurants in the area are called as such. Remember this one is specifically Doña Rosita and is the largest building in this really tiny dirt road town. We ordered Agua chile mixto, cocktail de camaron, tostada mixto and micheladas. Everything was great. The locals warn about the raw food in the heat of summer, and recommend something treated with lime like ceviche or agua chile, or something cooked. The young locals stomached the raw cocktails no problem, though. Service was as expected. They were able to accommodate our table of 14 without a reservation. We got a free dessert because it was someone's birthday soon. They play this really loud, traditional song and blow whistles and gave a choco flan cake with a firecracker candle. This restaurant is definitely not low stimulation in high season. We did have a 5 year old at our table who absolutely hated the loud song and whistles, but she stuck it out as she's also a local.

I'm not sure why this place is so loved and popular. We've gone twice now and both times were just…read moreokay and we've gotten sick after eating there each time
