This is the old Rosa's. The service is good, as well as the food. We haven't tried anything else other than breakfast which is served with corn tortillas. I asked to substitute flour for corn and was charged extra for flour ( didn't get corn either). Go figure. read more

Sounds like a restaurant for Americans, but this place makes their own fresh tortillas daily. They have a menu on the wall and you pay first, get a number from them listed on your receipt, then get your order from their pick up window. We got eggs with complimentary tortillas on the side and hash browns, and an order of their omelette with chorizo, also served with hash browns and tortillas. Everyone eats tortillas with their meals here in Mexico. The eggs were cooked perfectly and the omelette with chorizo was just right and not too salty. We also ordered a side of fruit, which ended up being a large plate lol. Oh well, more food is always good right?! The fruit was pretty decent, but not as sweet as I thought it would be. Rosa's has been consistently reliable since the first time we visited about 15 years ago. We're been back many times since then and it always seems the same. The menu has the usual Mexican dishes like tacos and enchiladas and burritos, but also includes pork chops, roast pork, and roasted chicken. The staff is always friendly and helpful. The decor and furniture are traditional with heavy wooden table and chairs, tiled floors, and arched brick ceilings. You order and pay at the counter picking up your drinks and bowl if you are having the salad bar, them return to your table and wait for your number to be called. At slow times the hostess may bring your meal out to you. Mostly though, you go pick up the heavily laden trays and return to your table for the feast. This visit there were four of us. My wife had the chicken burrito, a favorite of hers. I had the combination plate so got an elote tamale, a mini burrito, a cheese enchilada and a salad. All were quite nice. One of our guests had chicken enchiladas with green sauce and commented that they were along the best she'd ever had. For dessert we had some locally made ice cream novelties. Like many Mexican Ice creams they were a little less sweet than gringo flavors. Ours was a hazelnut and caramel combo that was really good. There are always new places to try in San Carlos, but we always seem to return to Rosa's! read more

Because they have friendly staff, great Food,(Don't forget their FRESH TORTILLAS & Great Drinks and great Desserts. We tried a little bit of everything and everything was very good . There are two tv's, both were tuned to American CNN aka "fake news." Fortunately their prices are "fair" and the menu is "balanced," just like Fox News, lol. Can't wait to come back for breakfast! Had lunch here - order at the counter and pick up your food. Clean and busy. The TVs aren't great but maybe some people like them. Corn and Chile tamales were delicious and a welcome alternative to the meat menu items found everywhere. read more

This is a great place to eat shared by gringos and locals alike. That's always a good sign. I've only had breakfast here, but the huevos rancheros are absolutely delicious. Highly recommend you try it. Large menu to choose from. read more

The service is always friendly and the food is served quickly. Everything on the menu was great. They have light, tart margaritas.

Stopped by for dinner and it was dead, so we passed and stopped in for breakfast instead. It was a full house, there was not an empty table in sight. My boyfriend had to hunt out the next table that would be available as I encouraged my family to order. The woman at the counter was so charming and understanding and she remained so calm as my family of six tried deciding what they wanted. After much scurrying back and forth between our table and the line, we were finally able to order and take our seats. I ordered the Chilaquiles con pollo y chile verde and man oh man... They were AMAZING! My boyfriend had the French toast and my sister, the pancakes and they couldn't stop eating off of my plate! Luckily, the portions were huge and there was plenty to share. I also managed to try a few bites of their pancakes... They were so fluffy and delicious! Oh, and don't even get me started on their freshly squeezed OJ... (Emphasis on the "freshly squeezed", it was so good!) All-in-all, it was a constantly crazy, hectic place where my family and I fit right in. We love Rosa's for breakfast! The orange juice is fresh and absolutely delicious. I order the huevos rancheros and it comes with delicious homemade flour tortillas and yummy pico de gallo. It gets busy during the weekends so make sure to stop in before the rush hits around 10:30 AM. Also, the waffles are huge and so good! Boyfriend orders them and they are always so delicious even without syrup. read more

My Wife and I always have breakfast here when we visit San Carlos. Usually it's after a night of drinking and dancing at La Salsa until 3AM, so we're thankful that Rosa's cantina will still serve breakfast to us in the afternoon. :-) The food is always good and fresh, the service it fast and friendly, everyone that works here is happy and pleasant. This is a great place to come for breakfast. If you don't see something that you need, all you have to do is ask and they will supply it for you. Oh and the prices are great too. I highly recommend Rosa's. My wife said she agrees. Rosa's is pretty easy to find. If you're on the main road through San Carlos, it's located on the S/E side of the main road (Opposite side of Ley Express) on one of those little side roads that parallel the main road. The building is bright pink and easy to spot when you get close to it. read more
