Delicious for take out! I needed a quick bite and this was right around the corner from my hotel…read moreand the food sounded yum! I ordered a few different dishes, from calamari, to a shrimp dish with rice. I don't remember the names of the dishes, but it was all delectable and I found myself eating more and more of my leftovers throughout the day. Even at night I kept eating away. The location was very charming on arrival, and the server was very helpful with recommendations. The ambiance is intimate and charming, great for a catch up with friends or even a date. The sauces and slaw that came with the food were delectable! Especially the sauce for the calamari! Yum!!! I would definitely eat here again on a future trip to New York. I'd try some other things on the menu for sure!

It's been years since I have stop by Pio Pio and in the last three months I had the pleasure to…read moredine here twice. Happy to say both times were just how I remembered. Quick seating and fast service with really good food. I went with my go-to... Empanadas de Pollo: stuffed with shredded juanita's chicken. Always tasty but if I'm honest I can definitely do without the whole olives. Not a fan. Arroz Chaufa: Peruvian style fried rice mixed with chicken, bean sprouts, scallions, & soy sauce. With added shrimp for an additional cost. This dish always hits the spot especially with a heavy drizzle of the green sauce and washed down by a good passion fruit margarita. The portion size is also great and always provides for a tasty lunch the next day. Just A Note: Great for a group or a table for two.

The food is always excellent (their empanadas are the best!) and the service and quality of delivery is top notch. Everything arrived warm, well packaged, and they provided us with plenty of utensils, plates, napkins, even a tablecloth! Highly recommend them for a catered event!

Came to Havana Central for dinner and had an enjoyable meal…read more This restaurant is ALWAYS packed, as soon as you enter, you're hit with sounds of happy customers, and the decor is elegantly tropical. Our Server, Ramon, did an exceptional job. The staff did a great job at clearing finished items and everyone's timing was spot on. We started with the Tostones Rellenos con picadillo (Green plantains stuffed with ground beef). This was a great starter. Large enough to share and I enjoyed the drizzled sweet sauce and whole olives. Our entrees were: Palomilla Steak Platter (thin cut sirloin steak) and the Ropa Vieja (shredded flank steak). Both dishes were accompanied by white rice and we chose black beans and a side salad. This was the first time that I've seen Palomilla Steak presented totally cut into strips and it was a welcomed sight. The Ropa Vieja was perfectly seasoned and the amount of meat was thoroughly enjoyed. I capped off the meal with a Cortadito (A cortado is a Spanish coffee beverage consisting of equal parts espresso and warm, lightly steamed milk. The name comes from the Spanish verb cortar (to cut), meaning the milk "cuts" the acidity and intensity of the espresso. I appreciated the cookie on the side and each sip was amazing. Havana Central has various choices, to accommodate your time of day: lunch specials, a pre-theater menu, and a Happy Hour.
