I had to almost physically get a replacement cart MYSELF when the price of crap they rented me broke and had no brakes. not close the Ferry. DO NOT USE THIS COMPNAY. If a 0 star review were possible I would give it. This place was affordable given the event that was happening (bash on the bay). The customer service was horrible and we were expected to inspect the golf carts ourselves before renting it. During the night we discovered our headlights were not working at all. Luckily we did not get pulled over but there were cops everywhere due to the concert. When we returned the cart we asked for any sort of refund for our malfunctioning cart but they asked if we got a ticket from the cops. We did not get a ticket so they told us there was nothing they could do. When we asked that if we had gotten a ticket if they would refund us and they said no because there was no way of verifying it didn't work (maybe they could go look at the cart for themselves but they didn't) they said their manager was in the back and they would tell them about our cart but that was a little lie to pacify us. Long story short and no refund later we are writing this review to say that you should pay more money for a working golf cart and better service. I am not surprised by the other low reviews this place deserves it. read more

This Merchant is the worse business I have ever dealt with, I would NOT recommend them to anybody. They only care about themselves and NOT the Customer. My wife made reservations for 3 golf carts on line, (for One Day) when we picked up the Carts, we discovered that my wife mistakenly made reservations for one day and till noon the next day....we tried to explain that we only wanted the carts for one day only!! we asked if they could void the reservations and re-ring for just one day. They would not hear of doing such a thing....We were stuck paying and extra $60.00 dollars. We tried to explain that there was a mistake when ordering on line, and asked if they would redo the order for the one day.....They were very very Cold Hearted and unforgiving of our mistake....I have Never Heard of any Business being so uncaring... do not rent from this business, they require you leave your actual driver's license or actual credit card. i refused to do that and they still charged me . disputed the charge and lost. also contacted the better business bureau about this ludicrous requirement. their are plenty of other golf cart rental companies. read more

I hate even giving them 1 Star as these people are scammers. Do NOT rent a cart from them! There are a TON of other places to rent them. I reserved a cart online for 09/12/2020. I checked in with them when I got there. They asked for my credit card when I arrived. They charge me AGAIN when I dropped off the cart so I ended up paying twice. I called them 3 times and emailed them 5 times with NO response but they contested the Amex chargeback for the second charge saying I did not show up so back to Amex dispute center I go. Obviously I showed up because you charged me twice. These people obviously have a scam going on to charge you double for each cart and then keep the money. BEWARE!!! read more

We rented a golf cart for the second day 08/24 of Bash on the Bay. When I made the reservation I could not find rates and no mention of an extra $20.00. I received a confirmation email that also didn't mention anything about price as I would have questioned the amount sooner. There was an issue with my credit card and Mark text me to ask me for another card. I called him to give him another card. When I asked how much and he told me $107 I was a little shocked as rates are usually 60/70 a day. He said that the rate was $80 and they charged $20 for an overnight fee to keep the cart until 11pm after the concert. Well due to weather the concert was canceled but we went over anyway. We checked in to pick up our cart about 11am and asked if the over night fee would be refunded since the last ferry left at 8pm and we wouldn't be keeping the cart until 11pm. The man who checked us in said yes, as well as other's checking in at the time we're also told yes. When we returned the cart well before time, by 6:30pm. We we're told it would not be refunded. I've email Mark only to be told I'm out of luck. Clearly, Mark needs that $20 more than I do. More to the point is CUSTOMER SERVICE with these folks just SUCKS. Don't use them! They aren't friendly, aren't helpful and their carts aren't that great either. read more

This place is horrible. They scam you with the online reservation. The website says they located right at the ferry arrival there not there. They send you no reservation email, number address or anything. But, entering your email is an requirement for the reservation. Upon arriving we checked 3 places at the arrival none which are Delaware I never received a confirmation email, I thought maybe the reservation didn't go through so I rented from another place. These people charged me anyway. They also keep you card numbers on file just in case you dispute the charge. I think this place is capitalizing off traveler's that's new to the area. read more

My wife and I arrived at the Delaware Golf Cart Rental on August 8th at approximately 1:00pm. The female associate at that location, when asked questions regarding changing our reservation to hourly, answered my wife in a very short and arrogant tone. She stated what the cancellation policy informs customers about, which we were aware of, however, the "we are not going to change it and you should not be bothering me with that question" attitude came across very clearly, to us. She also treated the customer after us in the same manner, who also wanted to get information regarding changing reservations. The fact that we were of darker complexion may or may not have had something to do with it but I'm not focusing on that. We will not be renting Golf Carts from Delaware Golf Cart Rental in the future visits to Put-in-Bay and we will not recommend Delaware to our friend and associates. There are too many Golf Cart rental locations on the island and I'm sure we'll locate one who understand the basics of customer service. read more

We were there on June 20,2020 and rented (one) 6person golf cart because they were out of 4 person golf carts. We were charged $156.50. I am assuming we were charged for two carts per an explanation from an earlier response. We tried to question it that evening but it was so chaotic . At the time there was another couple there yelling at one a young female employees and had thrown an object that struck her in the leg. We rented the cart at around 6/6:30 to 9:00pm. We would like to get the money we were overcharged refunded back to our card. I have emailed SEVERAL times as well as emailing the owner with no response except one stating we rented two carts. I have called any numbers that I can find but all say I have to communicate thru email but only one response to say we rented two carts which we did not, and they will not respond back to any other emails. I came here and reserved a golf cart which went great. Me and my wife drive around the island before the cart starting making a bunch of weird noises and these carts go so slow compared to other rentals around the island! Our cart broke down near the miller ferry which is 2 miles away so we couldn't walk back. I called there office and it took a hour to get us a new cart. They did replace the cart with one that actually worked but I would not recommend this place. Go somewhere else. read more

If I could do less then one I would Totally awful service Do not use this place While on the island we saw a cart and called the number in the side of the cart to see if we could reserve an 8 seat cart for a couple hours. They said yes and offered to make the reservation They took our credit card info and we said we would be there in an hour. When we arrived the people at the counter insisted that we made the reservation online and that online reservations were only for a full day and they were charging us for a full day. We said we just called. They basically would not listen and did not care. Total scam to charge us for the whole day and they said they could not cancel it! To top it off the cart they gave us kept slipping gears the wind shield was broken and flapped when you moved and it constantly backfired! Stay far away from this place! read more

This golf cart rental place is not accommodating nor organized. We placed a reservation two days prior to our arrival and did not get a charge to the credit card or a confirmation email. This made me suspicious so I made a call to the business only to get a girl who simply picks up the phone and could not answer my questions. We took the boat to the island and went to the business to pick up our "reserved" golf cart and others had the same issue as us. After an hour of waiting in line we get to the window and the girl told us our reservation did not go through. How was I supposed to know when they do not send anything to confirm our rental. They did nothing to fix the issue or offer us one to pay extra to rent. Do not rent from here they are not a good business to trust or pay. read more

I would give them 0 stars if I could. I am so mad at myself for not reading the reviews before I booked online. I chose Delaware cart rental because it advertised that you could pay by the hour. I booked online and when I picked up the cart was charged for a full day, and they were unwavering and rude about it. The cart looked junkier than other companies' carts, had trash from the previous renter in it, had a crack in the roof. But the worst thing is that the car went slow, so slow. Other carts were passing us. This isn't an issue in town but when driving around the island it is a HUGE issue. I called to ask to switch it out and they told me that all of their carts are slow and that they set the speed on PURPOSE. Are you kidding me? And they would not allow me to return the cart and get a refund so that I could rent a decent and functioning cart from somewhere else. And there are SOOO many places to rent nice carts from, everywhere, far closer to the ferry. Don't be scared into thinking there won't be a cart somewhere else, there are tons and tons of carts everywhere. Rent somewhere else. Anywhere else. read more

This place has the worst customer service and the worst equipment. My friends and I rented a cart from them and we told the blonde woman behind the counter that there were 5 of us. She gave us the keys to our cart and when we found it, it was a 4 person cart. We told her and she said that she was out of 6 person carts and that she would rent us a moped, at an additional cost, and our 5th person could follow behind. I told her we did not want to do this and asked for our money back. She said there were no refunds even though we had not even got in or started the cart. She knowingly gave us a cart that was inadequate for our needs, took our money, and then refused to correct the situation. Thankfully we put this on a credit card and cancelled the payment. Please DO NOT rent from this place. Customer service was awful. Prices was much higher due to Christmas in July weekend. There was no flat rate, had to rent by the hour ($15 per hour) and it was a $200 deposit. Our cart was stolen, reported it to both police and Delaware where we were told carts are stolen all the time because all keys are the same. I was told I would receive my deposit back once cart was found. I was also told they would call by the next day and not to worry. No phone call. Called Monday morning only to find that I could only speak to someone that could help via e-mail. I correspondent with the owner regarding situation when he told me my cart was found and no money was due. When I replied back and asked when can I expect my deposit back he told me my deposit was used for out time at $25 per hour and cart was found at 11am next day. When I explained I was told money would be refunded as long as cart was found he never replied and have yet to speak with someone regarding my concerns.
