This place deserves no stars. Read the reviews. Customer service is the worst. Regardless of when you rent a cart you have to cancel within 24 hours. So if you're on your way to Put-in-Bay and rent a cart before you get there and decide not to use it, you still have to pay for the full day. Read the reviews on Trip Advisor - not one of them is good. This company should be forced out of business. I will NEVER return to Put-in-Bay because of them. I am posting reviews everywhere I can to warn people to stay away from this company. read more

Horrible, horrible, horrible. worst excuse for a business I have ever seen. I had to almost physically get a replacement cart MYSELF when the price of crap they rented me broke and had no brakes. not close the Ferry. DO NOT USE THIS COMPNAY. Personnel was a joke, manager was a joke. somebody their needs a swift kick in the ass and I wish the owner would have been there so I could tell him what worthless Crappy employees they have. HORRIBLE, HORRIBLE, HORRIBLE... GET THE PICTURE...THEY SUCK! read more

This is not an upstanding company. They lied about their proximity to Jet Express terminal. It's a good walk and my husband is handicapped, hence the need for the cart. Secondly, they KEEP your drivers license or credit card while you have the cart. If you make an online reservation, you still have to stand in one line with everyone without a reservation. I overheard a customer being told that carts return at 8pm. Customer said ten pm on site, girl shrugged her shoulders and said "not anymore". And, here's your key, no map, no instructions, just take your money and card, "next"!!! read more

If I was able to leave a 0 star review here I would. It pains me to even give them 1 star. We rented a golf cart from here because it was an affordable option for the bash on the bay concert which we were attending. Looking back I wish I would've paid more money for a better company and cart. The customer service was horrible and we were expected to inspect the golf cart before signing a contract but we didn't get a golf cart assigned to us until AFTER we signed the contract. When night came and we were using our golf cart we realized that the headlights did not work at all. Luckily we didn't get pulled over because there were a lot of cops around for the event. We made it to drop the cart off and we told them our complaint about the headlights looking for any sort of refund. They asked if we had actually gotten a ticket and we didn't so they said "so we have no way of knowing if your headlights aren't working or not since you didn't get a ticket" (maybe go over and look, that might work??). and they said their manager would look at it. As we are waiting for the manager they ask us what we are even waiting for, confirming that they only told us the manager was being informed to pacify us in hopes we would just leave. They said there was nothing they could do because we signed the contract. Save yourself a traffic ticket and take your business elsewhere. read more

I tried reserving online for same day rental. Website stated I would receive online confirmation 24-48 hrs Don't know how that helps for same day. I received email before that, however I replied we needed to cancel due to the fact we couldn't get to the island because of Ferry restrictions that day. I replied to email as soon as I saw it. I understand they have policy for same day cancels. They could charge hour or two. Instead they charged $76.13 for something noone used. read more

If i could give this place 0 stars i would. When picking up the cart i had a hard time understanding the lady helping me. She then tells me she meeds an id or credit card. Im sorry i only bought one bank card and i need my id to get into the bars. Lucky my wife had her credit card. When returning the cart the told me they gave me a lock, which they didn't. When trying to explain to the lady i never got a lock she was rude and started yelling at me. No customer service just rude. As soon as i got in the taxi the taxi driver told me to never rent from there again because they are know to rip people off. read more

This Merchant is the worse business I have ever dealt with, I would NOT recommend them to anybody. They only care about themselves and NOT the Customer. My wife made reservations for 3 golf carts on line, (for One Day) when we picked up the Carts, we discovered that my wife mistakenly made reservations for one day and till noon the next day....we tried to explain that we only wanted the carts for one day only!! we asked if they could void the reservations and re-ring for just one day. They would not hear of doing such a thing....We were stuck paying and extra $60.00 dollars. We tried to explain that there was a mistake when ordering on line, and asked if they would redo the order for the one day.....They were very very Cold Hearted and unforgiving of our mistake....I have Never Heard of any Business being so uncaring... STAY AWAY FROM THIS MERCHANT!!! WARNING. Please Don't Patronize this Merchant!!! They Just Don't Deserve anybodys Business!!!! read more

They will double charge you and will avoid reimbursement at all costs. After 6 phone calls and getting nowhere I ended up getting charged $400 with no golf cart because there website will take your money and say you have it reserved. That's there loophole in keeping the money. All I got to say is thank god for credit protection. Walk or taxi before using this scam of a place. read more

I reserved a cart on line. $110.50 with Put in Bay Golf cart Depot. Went to four different golf cart places in the pouring rain and they kept telling me to try down the street. No one seems to know where Golf Cart Depot is located.I finally am sent to Delaware and told that he keeps changing his name. The guy at Delaware said I was in the right place (I wasn't).Told him I already paid on line. He said no, that was just a hold and needed to run my card and that it would only be $76.13. Both charges went through my bank. Now, I can't get my first charge back because they said I never showed up. Delaware out right lied to me indicating that I was at Golf Cart Depot and took my money. I am told that he is known for this. STAY AWAY!! read more

Very pricey, unprofessional and had major issues with the processing of our payment. Next time, go somewhere else. There is a reason they get maybe 1 star in most reviews. read more

I hate even giving them 1 Star as these people are scammers. Do NOT rent a cart from them! There are a TON of other places to rent them. I reserved a cart online for 09/12/2020. I checked in with them when I got there. They asked for my credit card when I arrived. They charge me AGAIN when I dropped off the cart so I ended up paying twice. I called them 3 times and emailed them 5 times with NO response but they contested the Amex chargeback for the second charge saying I did not show up so back to Amex dispute center I go. Obviously I showed up because you charged me twice. These people obviously have a scam going on to charge you double for each cart and then keep the money. BEWARE!!! read more

I would not recommend this cart rental at all. They are extremely pricey and do not post the prices or tell you when the cart is due back. When we returned our cart and thought we were paid in full they charged us another $52. Their 24 hour is not a true 24 hours. There are plenty of other places on the island to rent a cart from. When I discussed our issues with the owner/manager he would not hear our concerns or do anything about it. This place is a total rip off to visitors. read more

Delaware Golf Carts - DO NOT USE THIS CART RENTAL! - Golf Cart Rentals Near Me - Put-in-Bay, Ohio

Avoid this location for renting. Owner is a con artist and will try to screw you over. This place is ran by kids and very unorganized. They will literally steal all the money from your pockets and make it seem like it's your fault. DONT RENT! This place needs shut down and new ownership. read more

If I could give 0 stars, I would.... DO NOT EVER EVER EVER rent from this company. They are an ABSOLUTE Fraud. They stole $402.38 from me over the 4th of July weekend, for a golf car I NEVER picked up and have email proof that I was cancelling my reservation. They made up and sent FAKE emails to the BBB and my credit card company. And the cherry on top is the fact that my reservation "confirmation" was for a completely different customer... which included their FULL credit card info, name, phone number, and email. Also, forget talking to anyone that can actually do anything, because their "phone number" goes to some random hotel because the golf cart place doesn't actually have a phone....which is probably because they're so shady. For those who have had issues with the company, feel free to email the owner with me...His name is Mark. His email is PIBOHMARK@putinbayresort.com read more

Was double charged, they don't answer their email and customer service is absolutely terrible. have done nothing to make the situation correct, despite contacting them multiple times via email and phone. Scammers! Stay away read more

This place is horrible. They scam you with the online reservation. The website says they located right at the ferry arrival there not there. They send you no reservation email, number address or anything. But, entering your email is an requirement for the reservation. Upon arriving we checked 3 places at the arrival none which are Delaware I never received a confirmation email, I thought maybe the reservation didn't go through so I rented from another place. These people charged me anyway. They also keep you card numbers on file just in case you dispute the charge. I think this place is capitalizing off traveler's that's new to the area. read more

Under any circumstances, DO NOT rent from this golf cart rental place, Delaware Golf Carts or Putinbaygolfcartrentals.com. They do not belong to the Chamber of Commerce. Quote from a business in Put-in-Bay, "they make other reputable golf cart rental places look bad...so many complaints about them" Another review stated they were a "shady business." I should have listened. Owner is very aggressive, talked down to me and stated they put their "terms" in the "lowest level of English" They took my son's $367 and tried to state they held our cart for an entire weekend. I didn't even ask for a refund, just to move it the reservation to the following weekend. I called well in advance to change the date, did not hear back and sent an email day below stating I had not r3eceived a confirmation back. Read the reviews and rent from any other place!! This is the FIRST negative review I have given, ever. Horrible!!!!!!!!!!! Read all the other reviews! read more

We rented a golf cart for the second day 08/24 of Bash on the Bay. When I made the reservation I could not find rates and no mention of an extra $20.00. I received a confirmation email that also didn't mention anything about price as I would have questioned the amount sooner. There was an issue with my credit card and Mark text me to ask me for another card. I called him to give him another card. When I asked how much and he told me $107 I was a little shocked as rates are usually 60/70 a day. He said that the rate was $80 and they charged $20 for an overnight fee to keep the cart until 11pm after the concert. Well due to weather the concert was canceled but we went over anyway. We checked in to pick up our cart about 11am and asked if the over night fee would be refunded since the last ferry left at 8pm and we wouldn't be keeping the cart until 11pm. The man who checked us in said yes, as well as other's checking in at the time we're also told yes. When we returned the cart well before time, by 6:30pm. We we're told it would not be refunded. I've email Mark only to be told I'm out of luck. Clearly, Mark needs that $20 more than I do. More to the point is CUSTOMER SERVICE with these folks just SUCKS. Don't use them! They aren't friendly, aren't helpful and their carts aren't that great either. read more

"The System is Rigged". You've heard that from two presidential candidates. Delaware Carts is rigged. I was with a mobility challenged friend, making it a challenge to get to the other side of the island form the Ferry landing. Delaware Carts would not allow me to cancel my same day on-line reservation, stating that I had to cancel 24 hours in advance of rental to avoid a charge to my credit card. How does one cancel 24 hours before on a same day on-line reservation? The system is rigged. No answer, when I asked that to the sales clerk and the Manager (names withheld) at the kiosk. And when I asked them if they would accommodate with a ride back to the Ferry their politically correct answer was that liability prevented it. I think it was just laziness, or maybe a shock that someone asked them for customer service. Sad reflection on their business practices and ethics. NOTE to Delaware Cart staff: the Cart Rental company at the Ferry actually did that for us. Helpful, pleasant and animated staff working at that business; not the case at Delaware Carts. And they didn't price gouge ($ Cheaper than Delaware Carts). And the Ferry Boat dock staff were just as helpful in explaining the layout and the availability of a courtesy ride from the dock to the nearest cart rental location. A stark contrast from Delaware Carts. Seasonal rental frenzy shouldn't be cause to abdicate business ethics, no matter how short the season. Golf Cart companies are now plentiful on the island and just gouging the customer is wrong. If they are worried about reservation abandonment, then Delaware Carts needs to develop a better reservation system to consider same day cancellations. There is no pride in what Delaware Carts is doing. If you have mobility requirements, then do not use Delaware Carts. Use another company that will be more accommodating and pleasant to work with, and likely with better ethics. #PutInBayChamberofCommerce, #PutInBayBBB read more

WARNING: It's a scam!!!! Terrible customer service. I attempted to book a golf cart and never received a confirmation. When I called to clarify, I was told if there wasn't a confirmation, they didn't have a cart available. I made other arrangements. I then noted a charge for nearly $100 on my account. I was told that it was Yahoo!'s fault if I didn't receive the confirmation. They forwarded the alleged confirmation email to me which showed they had forwarded ALL OF MY PERSONAL INFORMATION (credit card info included) to an unknown email address. When I attempted to resolve this issue, I was referred to as "not very smart" as well as accused of trying to swindle a small business. read more

If you ride Jet Express to Put-In-Bay, they have coupons for $5 off at the ticket counter. Get a cart especially if you want to explore and not just drink. Carts were all dirty and were the slowest on the island. At 60 a day for a 4 seater, the rates aren't horrible- but the carts are. We had to clean trash and spider webs out of our cart when starting out. The cart worked fine but we were getting passed all day by rental carts from just about every other place. All the rental carts on the island are governed somewhere around 15 mph so I'm not sure if we just got a bad cart or what. When we complained a bit when turning it in, a couple next to us was also complaining that their cart seemed to be slower than the rest also. Id gladly pay a bit more next time for a cleaner cart that's in better shape. read more

My wife and I arrived at the Delaware Golf Cart Rental on August 8th at approximately 1:00pm. The female associate at that location, when asked questions regarding changing our reservation to hourly, answered my wife in a very short and arrogant tone. She stated what the cancellation policy informs customers about, which we were aware of, however, the "we are not going to change it and you should not be bothering me with that question" attitude came across very clearly, to us. She also treated the customer after us in the same manner, who also wanted to get information regarding changing reservations. The fact that we were of darker complexion may or may not have had something to do with it but I'm not focusing on that. We will not be renting Golf Carts from Delaware Golf Cart Rental in the future visits to Put-in-Bay and we will not recommend Delaware to our friend and associates. There are too many Golf Cart rental locations on the island and I'm sure we'll locate one who understand the basics of customer service. read more

For those of you have been charged when not receiving your reserved cart, please file a complaint with the FTC at reportfraud.ftc.gov/#/ I reserved a golf cart on 6/12/21 at 1:12pm and received the confirmation email. At 1:28pm, I got to the front of the line and was told there were no carts available. I let the 2 young women at the counter know that I had a reservation and was told that they were not allowed to accept reservations after 1pm. I made sure to ask if my card would be charged since they could not provide the cart I reserved and was told that it would not. Fast forward a few days and my card WAS charged!! I called the number in the confirmation email and explained situation. They directed me to email reserve@putinbaygolfcarts.com. After 4 days without a response, I called again and they informed me that they are only an answering service for the business and gave me an email for Mark, who apparently is in charge of the operation. On July 30th, 2021 I reserved a golf cart for 8 online for our visit the following day, July 31st. When we went to pick up the cart the lady behind the counter asked me how I'd like to pay for the cart. I told her I had already booked it on my credit card and thought that it was paid for. She informed me that the credit card only holds my cart and that I have an option to either pay in cash or credit so I opted to pay cash. I asked her if she was sure they wouldn't charge my credit card and she reassured me that they won't....the card is just to guarantee a cart. I don't remember her name. I was given Cart #238. When I returned the cart I was not given a receipt and I completely forgot to ask for one as the cart rental place was extremely busy that day. That same evening after I returned home I noticed my credit card was charged on the 30th so I clearly double paid. Since then I've reached out 9 times through e-mail and called twice. I spoke to someone and he advised me to send an e-mail along with a copy of the charge on my bank statement, which I did. He said to mention the cart # and the last four digits of my credit. The second time I called I spoke to another man and he told me I needed to e-mail my correspondence to a different e-mail, which I did. I never heard back from anybody. My sister even went to Put N Bay on August 29th and I asked her to please stop by Delaware Carts and ask for a manager. She spoke to a woman named Rachel and gave Rachel my contact information. She told my sister she would have someone reach out to me. My sister even asked for a manager twice that day and was told one was not around. To this day, I still have not received an e-mail or a phone call. I just want a refund that I deserve. If I could pick 0 stars I would. Shame on this pathetic company to scam all of us hard working people. You obviously have no morals and don't have the fear of God in you...do you realize how much your stealing of our hard-earned money has affected all the people that trusted you? By the way, our cart was disgustingly filthy....we had to wipe it down. Never ever again... You need to do right and contact every person you scammed and refund our money back. Shame on you. My name is Shatha Denha...and I deserve my money back because it's the right thing to do. read more

This place is awful. We reserved a cart online for our trip to PIB the end of July as recommended by our hotel. We entered our credit card to "hold" a cart for us. We paid for our rental when we returned our cart and they also charged my credit card for an additional $280.00. I sent an email as instructed to do and received a return call from a very rude man. I sent the proof of charges as requested and now I can't get a return call from anyone or any response the the multiple follow up emails sent. As a side note the company charged my credit card an additional day after we left the island. Wish I would have seen the comments on here before using Delaware Carts!!! Carts are TRASHED. We have rented from them many times. We have to return carts often due to issues. Last time there my cart was stolen within hours of getting it. They handled it VERY poorly. Then got the cart back the next morning yet made me keep calling and checking in with them all weekend. Then to add insult to injury they ended up charging me for the entire weekend. I placed many calls and emails into them and can't get a single reply. Many choices on PIB. I WOULD NOT RENT FROM THEM AGAIN. read more

I highly suggest you do NOT rent a golf cart from this company. There are plenty of other places to rent a golf cart from on your vacation to PIB. As I read the other peoples' comments, I am getting even more upset! Problem is this: I never rented a cart from this company (because they REQUIRED me to leave my driver's license) and then sent through a charge on my credit card 4 days later! They are not responding, won't take my calls and have not issued me a refund. I am filing a police report today because they have stolen my money! read more

I read the reviews after I had booked the cart and I was scared that I had made a bad move. However, the cart was fine. Yes the mirror is small, but who cares. It ran fine. Someone had left garbage in the dash, but that didn't bother me either. It had a half tank of gas when I rented it and I drove it for about 5 hours and it still was slightly below a half tank. The staff said that a full tank will easily last through the week. They are not high end carts, but I didn't pay a high end price. My credit card was only charged once and we were there on 9/3/18. Be aware that they do hold either your license or a credit card until you return it. Overall not a bad experience and I would rent again. 6 person cart for 76 out the door online. read more
